I think that hallway is too dark for that color. It needs some natural light to offset the darkness. It's going to take at least three coats of paint to lightening that purple.
I love the purple colour, but think it would look lovely in a bedroom with a velvet bed spread. A nice light colour would look better in the small space with a beautiful mural painted on it. What a yummy breakfast! Your mother is precious. ❤

Think that hallway is already dark and tight. You should paint it light and bright! Otherwise it’s just scary. Do not care for that color at all. If you like it, might use it for decor items or small furniture piece.
The white flowers at the beginning (violets) we call Pansies - but the tiny ones we call violas. When your mama was posing with her new walking stick as you were about to go back up the pathway, the flowers above her we call Bridal Wreath. I have a giant Bridal Wreath bush that flowered just before my younger daughter’s wedding. I was so excited! Then she said she didn’t really want any in her bouquet 😢. Our children don’t always appreciate the things that we treasure - but when they do!! that can be glorious. I’m so happy that you and your mama both love flowers! I actually was given the privilege of creating the floral arrangements for the dinner tables at my little girl’s wedding. That soothed the pain of the Bridal Wreath 😊. I can see that your mama really wants to help you and Sergi. Enjoy all of her help - especially when it isn’t something you might have done that way. You will bless yourself by loving all of it.

I painted a room a similar dark color as your corridor and it turned out well. It was an aubergine/eggplant purple color that was rich and earthy. Keep going, you will know what to do in the end.
I too love purple with a green shade. Will you paint the bottom of the hall way a light shade? When you have time in the future, more lighting would brighten up the space too. Paint is so wonderful, you can change a room if you do not like it. Your Mom's visit must be a wonderful treat for all of you.
A narrow space needs a light colour wall.. Well, that's just my opinion! Most of your choices turn out very well, so I'll wait to see it finished! Good lighting needed!

I was thinking the same, a light green would be a nice backdrop for art and lighten the dark hallway. If she was determined to go dark, at least go with an eggplant color rather than that purple. Purple is one of my favorite colors, but not inside a house full of history & antiques.
small rooms - light colors. Large rooms are more colorful. I would have kept the entire house white because of the small rooms. everything bright and more in the Swedish style. beige, white, light wood and light, fluffy carpets. These dark granny furniture can easily be painted lighter
Are you worried the purple or what ever that berry coloured paint will be so dark, the interior is already so dark. But you are so courageous. You aren’t afraid of color like some of us. It’s only paint right! Can’t wait to see it.
I feel if it was a background colour in a floral wallpaper the colour would be nice but it is such a jump from the soft tone of kitchen. I was thinking a soft colour to brighten the space would look better. I do like the purple colour but more for a bedroom. And wouldn't a better quality paint brush create a nicer finished result. The brush you are using is rough and bristles.
What colour would you use for the panelling It might work, Personally I would have done same colour as bedroom for panelling and then chosen a colour to match the intensity of that cream yellow at the top
I think that you are correct in needing to see the entire hallway, before you can make the decision. I think that I understand the look that you are trying to achieve - A deep, rich, velvety, violet not an artificial looking “grape”. It’s impossible to make any real judgement over a video. You have excellent instincts and a good eye. Simply trust them. If it is still nagging at you something isn’t quite right -- then you should tweak it. My two cent for whatever that is worth.
young artist Alla, LUV the direction of the dark color, but consider ...a "bit darker" (value), a "bit less" purple (less red) and definitely reduce the gloss....reduce it to matt or satin finish....you are close!....but a bit more tweaking of the color🙏
A very good point, not only is the color horrible, but the gloss is bad in any color. She definitely needs a matte finish paint. She seems to have gone off the rails with paint choices, maybe it's good for Aya to take a break from painting & focus on something else for a good while, then look with fresh eyes.
The problem with the corridor is not in dark shape of color but in fact that color you have choiced is so ugly! It could be even black .No matter that the space is small.
