Looks fantastic ! I'm currently doing a 87 Chevy truck that's a very special build and memory , because my Dad was the original owner and bought it new off the showroom inside the chevy dealer. Look forward to futher videos
@@paulkc10 it is I wish I knew how to post pictures to RU-vid comments because I have over 500 pictures of the building , just taking a lot longer than I expected but I move extremely slow because of health issues
OMG your right I started with cab videos and didn’t realize what you have done. I’m starting from the beginning. Great information and explanation keep up with the content
Great videos, couldn't change my own oil a year ago. Bought a 72 with nearly the shape yours was in, thought I may have bitten of too much, but these videos assured me it could be done! Thanks Brother!
Found you somewhere in the middle then went back and watched the whole journey. I'm currently restoring a 63' C10 so the frames are basically identical. Used your vids for the front end rebuild. My cab is currently on jack stands but in inching closer to getting it back on the frame as well. Can't wait to keep following your progress!
👍👍👍Great work down to every detail cant wait till you get her on the road again. I'm restoring my 67c10 by myself like you so I know how hard you have worked
I'm loving all of it, but the lowered thing and them rims and rubber band tires!! I'm old School I'm told? But i like trucks sitting up and 15 inch rims and meat around the rims. You do Great work and I Respect that.
Most entertaining and educational build vlog ever! Appreciate all the time you're putting into documenting the process and letting us in on the "behind the scenes" footage
Great job Paul!!!! The truck looks like a completely different C10, amazing job and great work!! Keep it up, and before you know it she will be done , and back on the road!!!
Thank you very much, had had the opportunity following your *Lectures to see you all as I'm looking as you did work. *Genius - could follow all your chapter of videos. love the quality of work. trying to do my 55 chevy truck like this. currently ordering my vortec motor off jegs but one day will do a swap like this on my other trucks. GREAT WORK, you earned another sub
Looking great! Damn that cab on the frame really pulls it all together! I love your idea with leaving the back of the cab and the front of the bed that teal color, the truck has a history! I am about 1 weekends work away from having my cab off my 72 k20 and starting my own bare frame/cab journey. Your progress gives me motivation! Thanks for showing that a family man can still do this stuff! Keep it up
Hey Paul.. to tell you the truth , I only got a couple of subscriptions and I only checke if you only got any update videos... you ate the best. Keep up the good work.
The textured look is due to that Husky gun. I had one and it does not like solvent based paints. It might be good for staining wood and waterbased paints. I recommend an Iwata AZ3 HTE2 spray gun. It’s not much more expensive than the Husky gun. Anyways, awesome channel. Restoring a ‘68 C10 and these videos are extremely helpful.
Congrats on getting the cab back on the frame - just mentally that's a big deal. Nice to see have you always have things laid out for the next step. Will you have it ready for Woodward? JK Farmington Hills here.
Great vid But I know always some one with. "But" Just want to see if I may be missing something. Why not complete painting cab off frame? Less masking and prep work? Again great channel I have picked up a few tricks and tips from u.
You should look into the new 12volt ac compressors they are amazing for ac can run it on frame and poke holes in the floor with a custom box it will keep the firewall nice. And not see it. It will allow a cool ride on hot summer days.
@lexrios5452 I'm using one one squarebody swap with cummins and also for my killer chiller type setup on my 1200hp mustang gt for the iat's to stay low. It also is great on small cars with 4 cylinders to help free up hp the whole kit is half of vintage air. This is just the compressor setup.
Looks great! Very exciting to see this coming together after all this time. Your videos have helped me a lot w/ my 72 project. One small question I have is after dropping the front did you add shims to adjust camber?
Yea, I bought the only rust encapsulator Eastwood sold in black, sized to gallon cans. One week after it came, they introduced the new improved, better than ever and cheaper their "Platinum" rust encapsulator! Man is was pissed! It would eat up the difference in cost to send it back for the platinum! Ain't bought anything from Eastwood since, and probably wont. Still sealed in can, have not used it. What size did you get and how much would you recommend(I literally am doing a 71' that is same green, built the same wooden dolly, and replacing all "The Panels" as you) to do the cab?? How did the seam sealer turn out?? and is the "Pre" any better than acetone?? Thanks for all you do Doc!!
For the timelapse portions of your videos, do you shoot everything in real time and then speed it up in editing or do you use a timelapse option on your camera while you're filming it?
No reducer? Was it pre reduced? If it wasnt reduced you can't spray it with a 1.3-1.4 tip. You'd need at least a 1.8-2.0 tip. If you try to spray too thick a paint through too small a tip you get spatter and a texture like you wound up with.
It was humid and I didn’t use a thinner. Got tacky too quickly and never leveled off. Sprayed the core support on a cooler day with a reducer and it’s totally flat 🤷🏻♂️
