Thanks to you I certainly am back in the game of painting minis! Speed Paints, baby! It's a game changer I have painted 5 minis over two weeks and have 3 prepped in waiting. I was only painting 1 or 2 over months. Now it is fun and the results are fantastic!

I like to use a rusty bronze as the first heavy dry brush, then follow with a lighter metal or silver dry brush, for my metal type models.

I have always done a underpainting that's now called slapchop... I didnt always do washes so that's still new to me and being an artist I can paint forever haha..

I usually dunk my miniatures in paint that's watered down and then use paint/oil pens to take care of the details

Gotta say, the robot looks very nice! The colour scheme and design reminds me of a sort of hybrid between a Space Marine dreadnought and Claptrap from Borderlands. :D

my new situation is trying to photograpy a mini from reaper bones with my color changing faking acrylic in a nice way and the photograph going weird, not showing the detial I wanted. Which was blood from the lower teeth to ascot.

Okay so normally I really like your videos, but this time I think you gave some advice that especially new painters wont find helpful at all. You did not thin your paint, especially orange is notoriously difficult to get a nice and thin, brush-stroke free fully opaque layer with. The brush strokes were pretty visible in your paintjob. For painting flat panels orange like that, the airbrush really is your best friend. Even one of the newer, flatter Contrast paints like Magmadroth Flame would have done a better job. Also, instead of a black all over wash on a flat, bright surface, some more precise recess shading of the armor panels would have gotten you a much cleaner look, that you could have then weathered down with something like sponging afterwards for example.

I'll argue that the unthinned orange made the final product better, it added that little extra texture for the *brown* wash to settle in, and pool in so many more ways, it made that weathering look so much better It's a style that I can get behind
