I'm happy your channel got recommended. They was a really comprehensive guide and it seems easy to follow, if the correct tools are available. Subbed!

Wow. Just wow. Love your work and this channel. I’d love to see your take on the grey knights because they’re so monochromatic yet shiny

That Cyan from S75 ink reminds me of one of the GW contrast, tho I cannot pinpoint which one exacly. Talassar blue perhaps is closest match?

Very nice looking. For the eyes I know there not cannon but I've seen someone do Tyranid eyes just black, and then after the whole model got a matt or satin varnish they went back and painted the eyes with a gloss varnish and it just looked creepy. I think that could look very cool and very intimidating for space marines, especially terminators. Alternatively paint them black and then do little white lines(like a reverse purity seal) and then hit them with a very bright(maybe florescent) ink and then finish the eyes with a gloss to make them look like CRT's.

Sounds like an interesting idea, I'll give it a go on a future marine

Super good. Excellent blue. Did you show these on the 40k subreddit yesterday? They look like the nice ones there.

Yes I did, I wish I had taken better pictures at that time though. The pics were too dark really

Would this technique work for more earthy colored Terminators and Space Marines?

I tends to work better on more vibrant colours imo, but yes, it would

Balancing between readability at a distance and looking good up close has been so difficult to wrap my head around as a new painter. I also don't like using pure black or pure white because what it adds in readability it takes away in terms of realism up close IMHO. But the darker spots inside the biggest scratches sounds like a win win to me. Looking forward to trying out these techniques. Thanks!

10:11 by one part pain/one part flow improver/one part water, do you mean equal parts of each? Do you dilute the flow improver at all, or is it straight? Also, what PSI do you use with this mix? Thanks, it came out awesome!
@phoenixminiatureart4193
@phoenixminiatureart4193 Месяц назад
yes, equal parts of all. My PSI is normally at 40 and then I control the pressure with the trigger

The decals aren't shaded to match the shoulder pauldrons though. They're floating on top of the paint scheme. I don't get why painters don't blend the decals in. Looks proper weird.
@phoenixminiatureart4193
@phoenixminiatureart4193 Месяц назад
Thats a bit of a blanket statement. It's the same reason I didn't do a hundred other things to improve this, I have a set amount of time allocated for getting a result and shading the decal wasn't important. Painters do shade the decals and if this was a higher quality piece, I would have.
