Painting with distressed oxide -quickie painting 

I love this painting with the distress oxides. It opened up a whole new way of working with the distress and sketching. Thank you so much for making this so much fun.

You have kept me company all afternoon and I have enjoyed trying to paint your roses ,so far so good ,I just got lost for 3 hours . Thanks .

I found your channel a few weeks ago and I am absolutely loving your videos. I have learned so much from you. I love the real time videos you are sharing. So often I will watch you draw and paint and think that it looks terrible. But then I keep watching and it turns out gorgeous. That alone has given me the confidence to not give up when I make something. Thank you so much!

The more I watch your videos, the more I am inclined to want to try to freehand draw. (stick figures are challenging to me). You often say to "just have fun" and I think that is where I struggle the most. Fun is the key word. Everything does not have to be a masterpiece which is hard to take in and truly believe. Not sure why we struggle to achieve fun and not perfection but I sure do. Thank you again for sharing your amazing talent, your time and your encouragement. Truly enjoy . Still living out of packing containers and muddling through hoping to get to some art supplies in the next weeks.

This is so lovely. I can really see the effects of a loose painting technique. It gives such a different soft quality. I have never used distress inks before to brush in colour. The results are stunning and well worth a try. Thank you for your suggestions. They are greatly appreciated. I hope that you do produce your doodles as digitals. They would be a wonderful resource.

You are such a good instructor, and I enjoy your tutorials immensely. I've got an art background, have taught some classes, a😮nd have been looking at ways to combine my own art with my journaling, stamping and all the fun stuff that goes with it. Voila! I discovered you! ❤️. Thank you for the inspiration. I started out working towards a career in art, but the fun drained out with the pressures of producing fine art for others to buy. Now, at 70, I only care about having fun as you point out is a good thing.

Just now getting to this video, can’t wait to try this! Btw if you buy Knockout Roses you can’t fail. You can cut them back to a foot above the ground and they will still come back. I can’t doodle, but I can bake and grow roses 😄

Beautiful picture - I have been eagerly awaiting a new tutorial from you and hope you can continue posting during your house-build. It's true what you say about doing quick and relaxed pics - as soon as I slow down and start trying to concentrate on details it gets out of proportion and goes wrong. I use your idea of going back afterwards with pencil or pen to detail and it makes a big difference. Thanks for showing us how!

I find it funny that people still buy the cheap Michael's stuff at a much higher price when they can go to Walmart and get cheap watercolor paper, 50 count, 130# for $10.97.

I love your work and the process you are sharing . Unfortunatly I have vertigo which makes it difficult to watch any vidoes where the camera shakes. Please Please dont take this as a negative comment but could you set up camera on a separate stand to the table you are working on? Please ignore if it is a hassle...no worries. Cheers Judy

Do you pull all these images / doodles out of your head, or do you copy them? I am not good at free hand.
