In this video I am talking about The Glastonbury Festival, which for over 50 years has been held in the heart of rural Somerset.
I have been attending the festival since 1990 and now live right next door to it so, as you might expect, I have produced a fair few paintings over the years.
You may notbe aware that The Glastonbury festival isn’t held in Glastonbury at all. It's held a few miles down the road in the small village of Pilton.
The whole parish of Pilton has a population of just under a thousand people. It is the quintessential English village. It has a lovely old church, streams running here and there, and plenty of cows. It’s all very quiet.
Then in late June the fields around the village swell to a population of over 200,000, all looking to have a good time. There is plenty to do too, all to the tune of some of the most famous stars in the world.
