Step 1: Turn the ceiling fan on and off by flipping the main switch about six to eight times. Do this at a moderate pace, until the ceiling fan unit emits a long beep.
Step 2: Immediately depress the the on/off light button on the remote control and hold it for three to five seconds, until the ceiling fan unit emits a double beep.
Test the remote control to check if the pairing works. Repeat the above steps if the pairing is unsuccessful.

BTW it's a bit leceh to go there. If you're planning to do so, check if they're open before going down.
Q: Will generic remote controls work?

A: I wasn't sure if generic remote controls work and I wanted a straightforward solution.
Before going to Samaire, I had checked the prices with dealers for the price of Samaire remote controls. Some quoted exorbitant sums, which meant it made more sense to purchase directly from the distributor.
Q: I tried this technique multiple times but it didn't work. Why?
A: There might be a few possibilities which you can explore as part of troubleshooting:
1. Technique needs improvement.
It's really not easy to get the hang of it at first! If so, please try again or perhaps ask someone else to assist you as perhaps they might be able to get the timing right.
2. Remote control not working.
