I grew up Christian but have Indigenous ancestry from Canada. I find the Shinto thinking and design very similar to our traditional culture and it feels very calming to my soul. I think it may be the harmony with nature that's a big part of who we are.
All that Kobe beef looked delicious. I normally watch your videos at night and it makes me so hungry. 😮. I would absolutely consider a trip to Kobe to sample some of those. And you continue to do an amazing job as presenter of these shows. This channel is one of my most watched. I always crave fresh content from Asia.
Great seeing you Shizuka with another great video. But the background music is to high. It´s diificul to hear what Shizuka say, the music takes over. Same thing in many videos with Shizuka and Japan by Food videos
Love love love your videos Shizuka! Your food/sake pairings were fantastic; really enjoy your smiles and explanations of all you are doing. Please make more videos soon….!!🙃
Hi Shizuka, I'm curious, how many kilos did you purchase in the Kobe Beef auction? By the way, I've heard some concerns about its impact on the environment, and I'm still contemplating that. 😊🌍🌍🐄🐄
If I was to do what you did on this video, I would be so happy. Why? Because I would be drunk by the end and forget how much I spent the day before. Lol
were you one of the guests of Shun Chan on that suprise home sushi episode? i said to myself.. hey,, that's shizuka, isn;t it? anyway.. great food! its so mouth-watering as always.
love the amount of Vintage in this video, from the food to the materials it's really fantastic, and happiness is a bite of Kobe beef and a sip of Sake away, I'll have to get some next time I go out, but first I need to check out the BTS of this wonderful production
I just drink magnun wine in a glass instead of sake because you can't get the 1.5L bottle here in the States. I might have to special order it looks so good out of those ceramic sake sets with the Tokkuri Bottle decanter. so jealous!
Another tough day at the office... (yes, Original is my middle name 😀). Shizuka, do you think hangover-prevention drinks like Ukon-no-Chikara work?... Enjoyable vlog (especially Arima Onsen), thanks team
I wonder if that nadagogo sakedokoro is open to public? How much it will cost to get those sake experiences? Since on november i’ll be back to japan again😅
The Kobe beef and sake looked so tasty and flavorful Shizuka! Which sake would you recommend I should try with Kobe beef? But thanks for the video Shizuka! Oyasumi na sai!
Oh that's very intriguing about how they heat up the sake! It's got to be precise control of temperature or the alcohol will evaporate out. And while I can think of some Western hot drinks that have booze added (e.g., an Irish Coffee) I can't recall anyone heating up a western alcohol to drink straight.
i've long waited for this video, because Kobe City and Shizuka are two of my favorites. The more Shizuka drank, the more fluently she seemed to explain how attractive Kobe is. How much can she drink and eat in spite of her slender shape?
April we were in Kobe we had fantastic Kobe beef A4 and A5 was delISH!!!! 🥩 But I never knew sake was a thing in Kobe!!!!😮 Nice vid guys!!!! Kumpai 🍶 Loved the funky music too @15:50
@@ladyhaltom No prob! Narita is actually about 35 or 55 mins away from Central Tokyo by train. Haneda Airport is a lot closer - but you'll still need to catch a train into Tokyo from either. I'd just grab whichever flight is cheaper to fly into. I'd suggest trying to land during the day - if possible - catch the shuttle train (forgot the exact name of it, but there are plenty of signs) to get to Tokyo, and connect to any neighborhood you're interested in staying. There's TONS of lodging for all kinds of budgets! From super cheap hostels to spartan - but totally fine and inexpensive businessman hotels, and of course fancy luxury hotels! I was actually looking at December prices the other day - flights and lodging, and they're already going up, it's best to book as soon as you can. Have a great trip! My first trip to Tokyo was in the December holiday season a few years ago. It's SO nice to walk around and explore in the crisp cool air, and there are so many beautiful light displays all over the city. You're gonna love it! Have a great trip! 🙂👍
As indicated by Shizuka's slurred speech and bright red cheeks towards the end of the video. The poor lass had all the Kobe beef and alcohol her petite frame could tolerate which says a lot about the quality of the food!
I was in Kobe last June, and it was unbearably hot; I can't imagine how hot it is now (September). Another thing than disappointed me was that all the Kobe beef restaurants were closed between 2pm-5pm, and you needed a reservation to eat at most restaurants, and you had to speak Japanese to make a reservation. Don't expect to be able to just stop by to eat the Kobe beef. You need to plan ahead.
Usually restaurants close after lunch time to prepare for dinner, therefore 2-5pm closing 🥲 and yes, many times you do need to reserve in advance! That’s why we started the platform byFood.com to make the reservations easier even without Japanese ❤ good luck next time !
I don't know where you are from but I'll guess the United States. You could benefit from an etiquette lesson. Do your travel research, the Country does not bend to you; you must adapt and be respectful (which most traveller are not). Learn to speak the local languages in phrases ( get a translation book or google), learn the cultural do's & don't and most importantly be humble kind & respectful. If you do your travels will be enriched.
