PIA is so unpredictable man. You'll either have an amazing flight or a complete disaster. The cabin needs to be refurbished. Oh and this aircraft, AP-BHV, it just recently got back into service. It was out of service for almost 2 years so I guess that somewhat explains the broken lavatories.

This is the 2nd PIA review I watched. I notice that PIA is probably not the airline you would expect for quality hard product like seats and IFE but the crews make the flight become cheerful with their genuine service. I can see how they go extra miles on customers and that’s what many airlines should focus on. Nevertheless, PIA is still one of the airline I’d like to try one day.

I was so curious to see them again, reviewed by you! PIA is the first national airline I flew, the first airline I flew long-haul, and coincidently they were also the ones I flew on my very first 747 journey! Back in the day, the hub was Karachi. I've always loved their uniforms, very elegant. The food was nice, even in economy, and I learnt to love kheer (traditional dessert) on board their planes! The first route I flew with them was ORY to KHI via FRA and CAI, then a 707 over the Himalayas to Beijing, which was a very sought-after route by avgeeks back then (for the views as well as the aircraft which it remained very few flying, already in the 80s). Then I flew their Southern route some years later, in the early 90s, from KHI to NRT via BKK and MNL. I loved their livery back then, with some gold and darker shades of green. They already had the pre-flight prayer, elegant exotic uniforms, and... yes, the broken toilet(s) and dirty floor at the end of the flights. Overhaul, I remember them fondly anyway, because PIA had class and they are the ones who made me want to fly for a living. Regarding your video, my impression is that the seats are much better than usual economy class seats, with thicker, comfier seatbacks and bigger legroom than the current norm, and I also love the refined colors and fancy fabric. From what I've heard by their people, they've declined a lot since my experiences and I agree they deserve some adjustments to become once again one of the greatest airlines in the world.

Even the airline is trying it's best but people don't want to correct their selves . We need to fix ourselves

The duct tape toilet hinge 😂 If you can’t fix it with duct tape, then you’re not using enough duct tape.

When you fly PIA the prayer has to be long. That's all I'm going to say. Fun fact about PIA though. It helped setup Emirates airlines. Shame the standards have fallen.

Back in 2011 it was fine, my family travelled with PIA to Pakistan. I wad young and very excited. I had no problems with it. Rather it felt luxurious. Last time i travelled with PIA was 2013. I hope PIA becomes a better airline one day so that i can travel with it

THIS WAS JUST YESTARDAY! My cousin flew pia from Karachi to Toronto when there was a 2 hr delay. They arrived two hours late but it’s the baggage handling process that’s slow which was what made him lose his next flight. He arrived later thankfully on AC175!

It’s a shame PIA doesn’t take better care of their planes. That beautiful 777-300ER is in shambles! I also can’t believe all those people were standing while the airplane was still moving! Thanks Dan for taking that flight so I don’t ever have to!❤️👍✈️

When me and my mom, dad and brother went for umrah, we took PIA but the flight got delayed 3-4 times and after that we never took PIA.

The fact that the PIA plane was a bit tatty didn't surprise me. The fact that the crew was lovely REALLY didn't surprise me. Also, Oslo is a great airport. The train to the city center is super convenient and easy.

I sat though a pre flight prayer on Kuwait once on an old 747 going LHR - Kuwait. The crew were in the mid cabin area with curtains drawn and there were billows of cigarette smoke coming out under the curtain. Allah was vigilant though because we landed almost sideways when the captain forgot to correct before landing. Survived. Nostalgia

16:57 ,they've been trying to improve PIA for many years now. They'll imrpove to the miximum in the near future, and then hopefully, PIA will service Australia like they once done several years ago ( I think maybe 30-40 years ago). By PIA hopefully coming to Australia in the near future ( Which I'm very hopeful for) that will cut down my 17 hour flight with either Emirates or Etihad to just nine with PIA ( MEL-AUH and then AUH- LHE ) or (MEL-DXB and then DXB-LHE)17 hours total flying time, provided the plane is not late

Helsinki-Vantaa Airport non-schengen area is cooler than any other airport in the Nordic countries! :)

PIA is going through a big crises and managment issues lol and this is the airline that helped starting saudi airlines

the toilet was probably broken because some of the provincial Asian pax still don't know how to use them & prefer to squat on the toilet seat- thus the housing comes away from the wall & in this case, needed to be taped up...

Must be the worst IFE on any 777. Together with Alitalia maybe

Yep, standard PIA flight. Most of us from Pakistani origin are used to all this. Glad they’ve had their license revoked in the UK for a while. They have gone massively downhill over these past few years.

A very good review, as usual, from Dan. He tactfully left certain things unsaid, merely implied. I've not flown PIA myself, although I have transited Islamabad; it's an experience, but life is all about experiences ;)

I travelled in 2019 to Karachi in PIA and had literally no problems, it didn’t have as much turbulence as some of my most recent flights to other countries in other airlines.

I remember how once I flew on Daallo from Nairobi to Hargeisa in Somaliland- I noticed that the walls were cracked and the window even had multiple cracks itself. I asked a crew member why it was just left like that, he literally said “If plane fly, why fix?”💀💀😂

Whenever I see that airline, I grin inside. I'm Brazilian, and in Brazilian Portuguese, the word "pia" means "sink" (the bathroom and kitchen fixture, the one that had a lid with a chain in the video...). It can also mean the adjective "pious" when applied to a woman, but since this use is uncommon, the sink is the first thing we think of when we see the word. I always keep imagining a flying lavatory where everybody washes their hands all the time...

I seriously don’t understand people. Why bother standing up and getting into the aisles when the door hasn’t opened or you’re 15 freaking aisles away from deboarding?! A total international issue as I see this everywhere.

I was on board a few days ago. PIA is a pretty good flight. The crew was very helpful.

Oslo airport lost my luggage. Did get it back eventually. Glad there was nothing in it I desperately needed.

@Nonstop Dan I traveled on the same dates as you via PIA, but domestic, and of-course in a smaller jet, so it was new and everything clean without issues, also with great AC that worked till we disembarked the plane. Sorry you had a bad experience with PIA. like a few people pointed out in the comments below that PIA has a problem with standards control and has been having funding issues for renovating the cabins and the entire jet. Hopefully someone at PIA would be rightly embarrassed by your video!

PIA used to be one of the best in the world and trained Emirates but God knows what's happened to them. The flight attendants and customer service are brilliant but unfortunately the planes are outdated and have faults like brookend entertainment systems etc which really brings them down. The airline isn't making profit either so they can't fix these issues. 2019 was the first year that this airline made some profit because the new prime minister is investing in it, so hopefully things will get better soon
