PAF has always dominated skies against IAF. Major reason is well trained Pilots. Once PAF gets 5th Gen fighter. PAF would break in anytime & neutralize IAF in case of war.

The reality is reverse actually. Abhinandan actually downed a F16 of pakistan. Do you remember that pakistan never released the info about that other pilot in hospital. He was that f16s pilot. Abhinandan was ordered over radio to stop chasing pakistani f16 but his radios were jammed that's how he got deep in pakistan. And he was flying mig 21 which has no defence against such jammings.

KF-21 has many critical USA parts that are vulnerable to veto. And india can only be an assembling partner, not development partner as india has nothing to share in terms of technical know-how that SK doesn't already do better.

Looking at the present scenario AMCA seems light years away while KF 21 is already in the testing phase. With dwindling squadrons and Pakistan getting ready to induct JF 31, India needs to have a plan to counter the move. I would have surely preferred AMCA over KF 21 but the issue is that like always we have missed the bus. The plan should be to induct at least 2 squadrons of KF 21 while at the same time develop AMCA at a serious pace for mass induction.

@@muhammadishaq561 nothing is full proof against the stealth of 5 Gen but the stealth really means it is invisible to any radar? No - if you have a Layer Radar Detection then 5 Gen fighters will give away its stealth even if it means minimum in cross section visibility. India can buy Su-57 or F-35. USA no longer considers S-400 a threat since they have found it's weaknesses in Ukraine. Russia has offered local production of Su-57.

@@nishantshrivastava9674 Stealth fighters can be countered without stealth fighters. Ground based air defense cannot be countered as easily. Long range fires are Air or ground launched cruise missles, long range missles, Balistic missles, long range artillery rockets, and UCAVs. Long range fires can counter Ground Based AD in theory. in practice in Ukraine, Russia has failed to do so. Pakistan is garaunteed support from China in locating targets, and China has greater surveillance capabilities than Russia. But If PAF was confident of that as a solution, they would be investing any available funds into producing more long range fires, not stealth. Stealth, and other 5th gen features like data fusion, will help PAF emulate US strategy for countering GBAD. It is more agrressive, allows for taking initiative while being less suicidal than using non-stealth aircraft. Essentially stealth will allow Pakistan Airforce planes to get closer to the border area and fly there at higher altitudes, before India can target them with AAM and SAM. These stealth can then launch AAM, ARM, or attack Indian Army units. This capability will also be supported by other long range fires, having a multipier effect on capability. This way Pakistan hopes to maintain convential balance in an all-out prolonged-war. In this regard, expect to see Kilzema UCAV in PAF service. However, this balance can eventually be ground down if India develops the kind of industrial capacity Russia has shown and the political will to pursue the war over multiple years. Thankfully, no information in the public domain indicates India has what it takes.
