That's because the older people remember times when there was more freedom of movement and things weren't so restricted. The younger people have grown up under complete occupation, annexation, settlements, etc. The only things they know about Israelis in personal experience is soldiers and harassment from settlers and constant resource theft. It's tragic, because that would radicalise many people. If the situation is getting worse, and it is, no wonder the younger people are more disillusioned than the old.

But to hate Israelis just because everyone serves in the army in some way, is a bit like hating Americans because they can all vote and are all responsible for everything their country does. I am sure they meet plenty of decent soldiers, but even if someone treats you with respect, you still have to pass through a checkpoint and I understand the resentment. When you are not in uniform, you are a civilian. You can still vote for parties that are anti occupation.
