I just purchased the upper and the lower kit. Kit came a lower parts kit, the brace and the back plate. I love it. Now I am waiting on the suppressor. I was not one of the lucky ones that it came through right away. This is hands down one of the best values there is. Love PSA!
I have an FDE 5.56 JAKL. Looks good, but the initial functioning was not. Short stroked and failed to feed in gas settings 2,3,4 using Frontier 62,68 and 75 grain. The long stoke piston is heavy, and requires a well tuned gas system. Out of the box it was not. I have to run it in gas setting 1 (12:00 fully open gas block). Others have reported the same short stroke problem. I’m going to give it some time to “break in”. After about 300 rounds, it seems to be running smoother. I did add a BCM Mod 0 compensator/brake that seems to help. In my opinion, it’s impressive looking, but not having a fully functional firearm was disappointing. It’s also front heavy due to the piston system.
I am still skeptic about any gen 1 firearm and PSA has at least been active on fixing the issues of their bad gen 1's. I was more excited to get a JAKL but I also know there is a good chance I might run into issues as well.
I just stumbled across your channel because I just ordered the 13.7 jakl. Come to find out you’re in Alaska, I live just outside of anchorage. Definitely subscribing
I got the 5.56 version and love it. I’d like a 300BO but I want them to make a shorter barrel before I get one. Like I’m not sure if it’d be possible with the operating system but having something like a 5.5” barrel 300BO JAKL would be what I’m looking for.
I really hope so. The private range I shoot at was swept out from our feet, so we are scrambling to find somewhere new to shoot. Plus it's winter in Alaska and we are just waiting for the big thaw. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Got my .300 JAKL earlier this week mine will not cycle any ammo subs or supers with or without a suppressor on any of the gas setting. The bolt will not go all the way forward it gets stuck about 1/2" from being in full battery. I Have you shot yours yet?
Its freezing where i am so i havent made it to the range but just testing it at home it is doing the same thing, just shy of fully chambered and then i cant open the chamber with the charging handle, i have to pry it open by hand
You could but you'd essentially have to "unconvert" the lower back to a basic AR. I think you'd have to provide your own buffer tube and a standard mag catch but it should work.
