Could you explain or do another video explaining, here is my situation, if i i wanted to transfer a savefile from a server where i wasnt the host, and i want to transfer that save to a single player world what would i have to do? I never found a proper guide explaining this
Im taking my dedicated server down and some people want a copy to make their single player. Does this method work in reverse? going from server to local?
You don't need any extra programs. All you need is to ensure you have copied all the files not only worlds. Save and players also and it works like you would expect it. I hope this helps
so i was able to transfer data over but does it somehow delete admin password function i tried to add it and delete it and add it back but when i go in game it says no password is set
I want to share some important information to those who care about it. I just did this for my girlfriend and I, and it all worked just fine EXCEPT the map. The map is completely reset for all characters.
I followed the guide and got the savefix to recognize my old accounts, as well as my new character. I migrate over, it says completed but when I boot server it shows my new character. Seem to have all my old buildings, I have the map of my main account, but that's it. My paldeck shows all my main account encounters, but 0 catches. Any tips?
Question: I play via the join invite code on my friends world. Am i able to transfer my player data from his work to a local save so i can have a single player game/ coop via invite code id he wants to join on my host. Only reason is so i can continue progress while hes off, I KNOW HIS WORLD AND MY WORLD WOULD BE SEPERATE THEORETICALLY SO I KNOW THEY WOULDNT BOTH UPDATE - JUST DONT WANT TO START FRESH ON A SOLO WORLD - ALSO PS IF I CAN DO THIS DOES MY PLAYER INFO FROM HIS WORLD SAVE TO MY PC AND HIS OR ONLY HIS? ?
Hello, I have not tested migrating back to a solo/co op world. I dont see why you wouldnt be able to. Im guessing here but i think you would import the world and change the config file to what world is being used as i do in the video and then join the world locally. you may be presented with a new character but if thats the case use the tool and migrate your player data on to your newly created character. maybe a dumb question, but just wanna be sure. do i lose my single player save files if i transfer them? or do i get my character in single man and also get him in dedicated?
You leave them on your local pc and just copy the save folder to your server that way there will be backup on your local pc but it won’t update any progress you make on your server
@7:28 you mention about creating another character, is that for local game or in the server? Also the transfer of character is that so you still have a local save account with same character and world?
You would need to join your dedicated server and create another character there. If you have copied your world from your local pc to your server Then you will have a local save and a save on your server If you straight up moved the world save folder from your local pc to your server then you wouldn’t have a local save anymore I would recommend copying so you have a backup of your world just in case. The transfer of the character will only take place on the server Your local save will not be affected Hope that all makes sense.
Does this work, with two independent saves and would our bases be the same? Can I still have my base and they still have their base on the same server?
Im guessing as i havent tested. But copy your world file from your server put it locally same place i got my save file at the beginning of the video then change the config file for which world is being used as done in the video then join and if it asks you to create another character then you should be able to use the player migrate tool the same way all a guess but i assume that would work
Hello Brandon, It’s sounds like an anti virus is blocking you from downloading the file. Maybe disable any anti virus Or try in Google chrome to download Google did warn me it was suspicious but it let me proceed with the download. If in doubt delete system 32… don’t do that. Good luck bro
