yes this is what people needed this went from take 2 hours of trying to find a solution to a literal 5 min job to get my new server up. Before it was like i had to learn how to code in python. thank you so much, much love to this guy.
Thank you so fucking much. I've been looking everywhere for a solution. My first server was through Shockbyte and they were terrible. Server crashed every 30 mins. Decided to swap over to Citadel(hoping it's better) and people couldn't get their player saves. Spent 3 days with tech support trying to get it fixed. Thanks to your video, I can finally set the world back to it's premigration state. I would give this hundreds of likes if that was possible.
Thanks dude, I was scared to allow players onto my server without a real solution for backup since hackers are running rife, my only obstacle was player backup, this actually worked thanks.
thank you so much. i was trying for last 2 days figuring out how to migrate not only a server from steamCMD to HaruHost for backups and auto restarts since the memory leak issue but also to a whole new pc and couldnt get the player data to transfer correctly. you did an excellent job helping guide an idiot like me to get it working. i tried using command prompt, power shell, renaming and moving the files, and other python scripts but for some reason they just werent working but the janniks script worked perfectly.
And this step also let you keep your base and everything that was in the old guild name? because I think I have somehow screwed up my server, and I don't want to rebuild 3 bases and collect thousands of materials over again :/ EDIT: Okay, so I just tried doing these steps in order, from my subscription palworld dedicated server into hosting my own dedicated just to make a test, and Yeah, this indeed carries over all your player save progress, the world, your bases, your pals working in the bases, and everything included, this tutorial is a life saver! thank you so much!

Hi, Is there a way to help us? We moved our coop world from xbox game pass onto steam, host character, progress everything moved over fine , but for me only character and progress moved over. I'm missing all my pals in pal box. Could you please help ? Thanks
The tool isnt showing my old player files. Got any idea why? Also my whole world seems to be gone. There are no houses or anything anymore but my map is still saved from what I explored
man i need help, i literally moved everything over exactly but the buildings aren't there and the new characters aren't showing up in the save folder, I've created a new character twice and reuploaded all the files and still nothing is changing on my new server
I have a world where me and two of my friend play together. Bt now py pc cant handle the load. So is it possible to transfer our progress to a friends world? Please help.
My problem is this: My friend who was hosting the server locally wasn't playing much these days so I couldn't play either, so I had him transfer his save file to me, that also means I replaced my own world with his world, and even though my character's save exists within that save file, I am now playing as his character instead of mine, how do I become my character again?
You would want to run this tool on level.sav of the world you want then choose your character file as the top option then your friends character as the bottom option
I would effectively be overwriting his character. If you want him to be able to keep his data he would first need to connect to the world when you are hosting it and then you would run the tool to merge his old character with his new one. Then you could login and it should have to make a new character and you could merge yours onto that new one.
Was finding it hard to migrate to just a local singleplayer world cuz i didnt wanna mess up the other single player saves I had. Did u find an easy way to do this?
can you explain how to do this ? because After transferring my coop world to a dedicated server world. I will need to transfer it back to the coop world again after a week. hope to hear from you soon !
Hey, thank you so much for the video. I have a question, will the other players (who already played in the previous local server) lose their data or will it be recovered when joining the dedicated server? Also do they need to do anything on their side? Once again thank you so much
I have seen where other players can login with no issue and other times the tool will need to be run for each player. All they need to do is try to connect and make a new character if asked to then logout so whoever has access to the server files can run the tool.
Sorry im going insane, this tool is not working for me it keeps getting an error...Maybe is out of date? i see im a little late for this kind of thing!
From the looks of it, the script only works when your character gets a new UID right? Basically it replaces the newly created one with the old one? In my case, when my friend creates his character again his preexisting save is just being written over :( Anyone had a case like this?
I have seen that. If it is just overwriting the character file, some people have been able to get around it by dragging the old character file into the players folder after making a new character.
@@PhyrexTechs i did try that but unfortunately that didnt work out. Funny also that it only seemed to „corrupt“ the save of one of my friend. I ended up restoring from a backup I did 2 days before and there he was able to log in again
Yeah, I hope they can come out with that quickly. It would save everyone headaches trying to find workarounds. But until then this has been a nice solution if it works for you. Just make sure to make a backup in case it causes issues for you.
so is there a way for me to transfer to save file from gravel host (the dedicated server host) to my local files so I can just continue playing the world by myself? My friends dont play anymore so no need to have a dedicated server anymore
You should be able to do that by just copying the save data into your local save folder. If you have any issues with it loading your character correctly you can try this tool to see if it fixes it.

Hello, what is im not the host of the server, and im trying to get the save file from a friend, a level.sav wouldnt exist since im not the host, the question is how to move from a server, to a singleplayer save file(not host)
I’m not good at this stuff and I use nitrado, I’ve been trying to transfer my co-op world to a dedicated server for almost four hours and it hasn’t been working any advice?
I forget exactly how Nitrado has things setup but ill try to go off memory. So what I would do is: Start with a fresh Nitrado install, meaning uninstall the palworld server and reinstall it or do a reset of the server. Start the server up and login and make a character so it creates all the folders on the server side. Then turn the server off and delete all the files in the world folder it created, Should be located somewhere like this (Pal\Saved\SaveGames\0\ABC123....) then go to your co-up world folder(folder with random letters and numbers) and copy over all the file inside to the server world folder, so the Players folder and the level.save files. Then boot the server up and login and make new characters if it asks you to. spawn into the world run around for just a minute or so and log out and power down the server. Then download the world folder from Nitrado server to your computer(the folder with the random numbers and letters) Run the save fix tool follow the instructions of the video. When it is done delete the world folder from the Nintrado server and upload the one from your computer. This should fix it. I hope.
When I move my dedicated server save to my local sever/save. I got frame drop to 30fps. Is that any way that I only have my own character save and base then banish the other player base and data?
My wife is playing Palworld in my account, I created a new account for her and bought the game (again), I chose to save my files into the cloud, but I would like to transfer the player savings to the new account, but I'm not sure if those files into my windows user appdata will work considering the cloud savings... Could someone help ?
1 week I was looking for how to migrate my local backup to a free dedicated server.. thank you very much! I just have a small bug on the number of pals per base, it's stuck at 15 even if I change the parameters
I'm having an issue with transferring my friends' character save. Mine worked fine, the map reset but no biggie, however when I try to do it with my friends character when I click on the two characters (the one to migrate and the lvl. 0 to overwrite) right after I click the "migrate" button it closes and doesn't migrate the character. Any idea on how to go about this?
Other people have reported issues like this. The only way I have found that can sometimes work is to: Take your backup you made before running the tool for the first time and do the whole process again however transfer your fiends character first then yours.
Hi, anyone here knows how to change host of co-op from one player to another? Example, I'm in a 4 player guild in co-op with my friends (not dedicated server) and want to change Guild Master to another person between the 4 of us. However the game we played in doesn't show up in the new Guild Master game
This may still work for server, but as i am editing the world on my pc.. i have the following issue. In the end you said its "coop" compatible (technically) ... So my main point of contention is the fact.. that even if i do the first step of making me host.. the programm overwrite all of that.. deletes the host character if I overwrite my friends (original host) data to be a player. Then i am confronted with Wrong ID or .. depending on the chaotic amount of steps one could do to solve it.. stuck in character creation.
No longer working as of latest patch. worked before for myself and one other player in server. Today another returning player joined and I tried to merge and kept getting an error that the process failed due to unhandled exception
Not sure I've done it a few days ago no problem. Now when I try to add another returning player the command window states that this profile already exists etc then tells me to type y/n to continue in the command window and then proceeds to fail. I didn't notice the fail originally and when restarting the server with the "failed" file it actually made EVERYONE recreate a new character. It didn't just affect the one player that I was attempting to merge. The world data remained intact as all bases were still there. @@PhyrexTechs
That's odd. It sounds like that players character file could have been corrupted and because the game could not load it, they were forced to make a new character. Then it did not give them a new character file and just replaced the old one, so it could not be merged. Not for sure that is what happened but I have seen that before. Only thing you can try is to load a backup before you ran the tool the most recent time.
So quick question, my friend has a coop save with me and we want to put it onto a hosted server (gportal), so we need to make the server on gportal run it once, then put in our 'old' savegame where it should go on the servers directory copy the name and change the dedicatedservername thing, try to connect and if we get a new character issue we run the fix tool? Does it also affect who hosts it even if we both have access to the gportal server hub?
When you try to connect after doing everything you said, if it asks you to create a character go ahead and make on. Then log out close the server and download/move server save folder back to your computer and run the tool targeting the level.sav file for that and it should work for the host also. It should not matter how many people have access to the gportal server.
Any ideas why this isn't working for me? I made a dedicated server just to test and now when I follow all these steps it just keeps opening up the test one I made even when I delete the local files.
I doubt you are doing anything wrong. Palworld save files are not set up the best and if they had an official save transfer it would make it a lot easier. The tool is still new and will not work all the time. Thanks for the compliment on the video!
Hi I used the tool and followed the instructions of the video. When it finishes migrating the tool closes and when I boot the server and log on I still need to create a new character
You will want to check a couple things. If this is on a server host make sure you are deleting the world folder from the server before putting the world folder you ran the tool on back onto the server. If this is a corrupted character issue the tool with not fix that issue.
Thank you and excuse me for the question but, wanting to just get the co-op data from a pc to another, thus resulting logging in from the 2nd pc as the character A from the 1st pc (we don't want that) should we use this save fix program to migrate the saves from one another so that it recognises the character B from the second pc as the host now, or is there a faster solution to just change the host being the character B so that the character A can now log in having his progress?
@@PhyrexTechsscratch my original comment. It was asking if I wanted to overwrite the .sav files so I had to type y to proceed... Now I get another error and the process fails and the program closes itself. It says Fixed player guide! Then During exporting JSON files It fails and said something like "failed to execute script gui due to unhandled exception"
If it is asking if you want to overwrite then it is not finding 2 separate character files and that will cause an issue. The only time I have seen this is if the other Save-Host-Fix has been tried as that would have combined the character files already. Or for some reason the character file was not created.
@@michaelbassett6829 Looks like the tool creator released a new version that should fix that issue github.com/JannikBirn/palworld-host-save-fix/issues/12 Can be downloaded here 0.1.2 github.com/JannikBirn/palworld-host-save-fix/releases
I can't load multiple level.sav into the tool, the last one will always overide the old one in the dropdown list. ex. load aaa.sav and load bbb.sav, when it finished I open the dropdown list , it always shows bbb.sav --- I was success in first time. But it goes wrong when I use it again.
I was able to transfer over the map. But when I start a new file, it completely overwrote my old character in the save file so I don't see an option to select my old save file... Any ideas on how to continue?
When you started a new character and it overwrote your old character file did it give you a new file number? If so you can then drag your old character file into the Players folder and then run the tool.
Thank you for this. I been trying to go from co-op to dedicated server. At 1:26 you said to open the dedicated server files, but then at 1:48 it jumps with a folder thats opened. What exactly did you open, the co-op folder or the dedicated server folder? I dont see a WorldOption in my dedicated server but I do see one in the co-op. However im asking because right before 1:48 you were talking about the dedicated server so im a bit confused. TY.
I was showing the different ways to get to the world save folder. At 1:26 I am showing a file browser on a dedicated host server provider. At 1:48 I am showing the opening of the co-op folder that was opened by following these instructions at 0:38. Sorry if that is confusing
So I did this and everything worked great last night..now tonight when I log in it takes me to creating a character again. Is that because I closed the server on steam?
So if I follow the guide my coop save/world can be fully transfered on a new dedicated server ? (my friend cant log in if i'm not here) like we can keep our base, levels and pals ?
I dont know why but after I used that tool I couldnt access nitrado dashboard anymore. After I remevoed the folder where the tool was used in, all worked again. Seems like Nitrado is somehow blocking whatever this tool does
What the application does: Merges old character save file to new character file. Converts the level.sav file to json so it can then edit the character information and clean up any duplicate guilds that were created by having to make that 2nd character. Then converts it back to the level.sav Nothing crazy enough to affect Nitrados dashboard. Just did a quick search on Twitter and there are some people upset they could not use the website around the same time you were having issues. twitter.com/TB_Trucking/status/1753340462008508656 So I think it might have just been a coincidence. Nitrado and other server hosts have been struggling with demand and keeping their servers and websites working with the demand of palworld.
@@PhyrexTechs But isnt it weird that after I deleted the folder through filezilla i could access again. I did it twice. And each time after using the tool I couldnt access the dashboard but as soon as I deleted the folder I could access again. Mega weird ^^

...Cause I rll can't get my head around this character swap. I think that the save fix won't do it. If i migrate the host's data to the new character the previous host had then what will that leave the host with? it will try to enter with the host character resulting to same loop. Also if try to migrate the other character's data to the host's data what will happen to the host's data? Can you help?
It's not something I have tried, so I can't give a definitive answer. If it's possible to use the tool I would say you have the old host login and make a character first. Then run the tool to transfer the old host data to their new character. Then the new host logs in and make a character and you transfer their old character to the new one. If that does not work the only other choice is that Reddit post I sent you. Just make sure to back up your save data before trying anything.
Hmm, I have not see that one before. Only things I can think of is that something is blocking it like an antivirus. Or your system is missing some requirements/dependencies. Not sure what those would be though.
Hi i can't find the level 0 character i created after shutting down the server. but is sure do i can see the old player account, only the new character is i can't see, please help.
Make sure after you make the new character. A new file is created in the Players folder. Then shut down the server and download the world folder from the server and run the tool on it.
So when i created a new character it over rides my old character. I can see this because the Player file goes from 16kb down to 2.7kbs. @PhyrexTechs yup I've run the toll for my friend and once his new character has been migrated to the old one, he's unable to join with the above error message. Tried it on a server and local play same issue

After you create the character run around in the world then log out and make sure new files are being created in the Players folder before shutting down the server then downloading the folder back to your computer to run the tool.
@@PhyrexTechs okay man, after downloading the folder to run the tool, how will it modify the folder on the gportal files? Or do I download the folder, run the program to modify, then reupload the folder to overwrite server file? Appreciate the help though!
Hi, I just want to ask if this is possible. Im playing with my friend and she is the host. We play it via xbox app. But most of the time I cant play by myself since she is always at work and we need the host to be online for me to play. Is it possible to copy all of the progress I made with her multiplayer to my own single player world?
This is not something I have tried. I don't think it would work as single player because worlds seem to be setup differently. If this is a co-op save you could have your friend send you the world save and you would then just run it yourself as a co-op game and play by yourself. I'm not sure how the file structure is setup on Gamepass though.

Hi! So I moved to a new dedicated server. When it asked me to create a new character and spawned, my FPS was 60. But then when I migrated my save file, everywhere my migrated character go, it is 18-27 FPS. Is there a way to fix this?
You can click the 3 dots on the download and select keep or try another browser like Firefox. I scanned it with Hybrid Analysis and you can check the results here www.hybrid-analysis.com/sample/39e94bd6ee3f14949efd197ea9b60b4c61448d423d7112c9ddf601ac09a656c1 All the files it seems to edit are related to pal world so looks good to me.
@@PhyrexTechs selecting to keep any way does not result in any different results. I tried this and it just once again said virus detected and canceled the download. This is the same in other browsers that I've tried.
@@MichaelToews Odd, not sure if you have stricter browser settings or antivirus software. I just tested it on Chrome, Edge, and Firefox. Both Chrome and Edge allowed me to download when hitting keep and Firefox did not popup with anything when downloading. I got the save files from gportal back to my dedicated server, got the world save but after the toolfix transfer it still doesnt migrate my levels to the new character (even though the tool ran succesfully)
So after you run the tool, is it asking you to make another character or does it just log you back into the new character you made before running the tool.
quick question: if i am playing on my friends world on xbox can i move my character to its own dedicated server i created on steam, using a game pass extractor?
As far as I know you can't move character from one server to another without a lot of work. The best thing to do would be to have your friend use the Gamepass extractor and send you the world file then you can host it.
My friend hosted the server on his pc and then he sent me a file with random numbers and characters. When I host, only I can access the server (the character remains the same) and other friends who have played that server before cannot connect. Is there any way to solve it?
Sorry if this has been answered already. But will this character creation fix work if I try to keep the same server host after experiencing the character creation issue? Or does that step only work on those who wish to transfer their saves to new server hosts? My friends and I had a server crash (shockbyte) and when we loaded back up it forced us to make new characters. We can see our saves in the FTP but cant get it to load when we start. I do no think it can fix that issue. Because I think when that happens the character files get corrupted. If you have any backups you will want to try to restore from there.

Compare the files in the current Players folder after people have made new characters to your Players folder in your back up save and see if there are player files missing. If so drag them over from the backup to the current Player folder and run the tool again for the other players.
This video works great up until the new character issue. I do that part but then when I use the tool, my "new char" doesn't show up in the list and it only shows my char from the previous GUID. Any reason why it wouldn't show up?
If you compare the Players folder now after making a character with the Players folder of your backup do you see any files missing or that have been replaced?
@@PhyrexTechs so I figured it out! I had to run the server once by itself without moving my server data over, it created a directory that says "0" and I had to throw my save files in there. After that, it saw my new character and the tool worked! Thanks for your help.
Thank you for the video but I'm having a problem. I successfully tranferred my player progress with the tool but I can't do the same with the character of my friend due to an error. Any idea why? Thanks for your help
hey! I followed everything up until the character migration part. I have a dedicated server from indiff broccoli and created a new character. the save shows up in the websites directory but when i try to migrate old characters, only the old ones show up, not the lvl 0. what am I doing wrong?
Make sure you are downloading the World save folder from Indiff broccoli to your computer and run the tool targeting that folder then when done you have to reupload the folder.
