I've actually had a lot of success using roofs like ramps, they've been easier to place and extend than actual stairs a lot of the time, and pals will still use them like stairs anyway

For real, I spent 2 hours setting up an upstairs area to my base with beds and only about 2 pals go up to use it every night, like bro I gave you guys a penthouse and you decide to sleep on the streets like bums smh

Thanks for the tip Augie. I spent 2 hours the other day making stairs and figuring out things myself. It was a pain but once you understand it you can make pretty much a base everywhere you want. Maybe the devs can improve a bit on the base structures, stairs and stuff because for the majority of players, it is hard to do.

I did the stairs same as you, was hoping you found some way other than top down and eyeballing the alignment. Game is bound to get some building updates, as it should be cleaner and easier to do builds like yours than it is. LOL, I have a base in the same spot as the 2nd one you showed. Great base location!

Using roofs and walls and stairs together you can go as high as you want. Building aint the problem. A lot of builders with get problems the moment real physics are implemented (wont happen as it is a game) but still

Very practical guide. Tbh i dont think this game isnt ready for immersive builds. You gotta build practical if u want your pals to work efficiently / not glitch.

i put my palbox in the same exact place as you but how do u expand ur foundation to the right? as in my current world its off down the cliff

Stair and roof objects can prevent placement such as what happened at 4:38 where the foundation is being blocked by the stairs they just placed. Build stairs and roofs last.

My 2 new bases are on island at the foot of the Big Tree. The area has a massive amount of flat land without resources that constantly distract the pals. In order to access it, you will need to fly/climb over the red transparent wall

just a heads up, the game does not like to build down, only build up. this is why the foundation would not set at the bottom of the double stairs so destroying the stairs would let the foundation set :)

Im hoping next update from them with better building stuff like conan exiles stacking foundations or grounded half walls/floors/stairs. Would make things much easier and of course building fixes cuz its very janky atm. One thing ive learned is make every floor 2 walls high since pals get stuck easy with one wall height. Like i got a normal penking from an egg 1 wall height worked fine then replaced him with the boss penking who is a bit taller and gets stuck lol

i wish u could connect buildings easier....... i dont get why it has to all be based off the first foundation u lay.... beyond that building in the game is mostly well done. way better than ark survival ever did without mods lol.....

Good video, didnt think about using a wall as a stair connector. Your ice base broke me. I tried to mimic your structure at least in part. And I do not know how you did a 5x5 foundation in the spot you did. The mountain on the left rear corner messed me up. I ended up getting it but I still dont know how yours was so flush. I ended up doing a large staircaise inside the structure which gives less room inside but the pals path fairly well and didnt frustrate me

Don't use the big containers pals get stuck, the refined chest has same amount of slots and the pals don't get stuck. 😊

4:29 there are sometimes invisible items and which cause the overlap. I personally feel that Pal World be popular much longer. There are so many glitches and bugs.

Don't know if this is the same, but I've had an issue with placing pal boxes as well. Turns out I was standing in the red "exclusion" zone so it was actually me blocking it, Had to rotate the box till I could get it to work. Maybe that's your issue as well? Good luck!

yeh the same thing as MrNorker77 make sure you are not standing in the area that is needed for it or rotate it so that it fits onto the foundation, the pals come out of it from the back so it has to be open for them or it wont place

I would not suggest building outside of your base. I started a big village project that included structures and foundations outside of the base. When i got back on the next day, everything but the structures in the base were gone...

Yes it was confirmed on our server that any structures outside blue circle has very high despawn timer. DON'T build anything permanent outside you base circle or you will loose it!
