From a true Cajun use buttermilk waaaay better, oh and fork the meat trust me makes it worth it every time. I used to cook 10 to 15 a week when I was young. Grew up on the Sabine river.

This guy seems like he is very respectful of the environment and what he takes from it. Yesterday I watched a video where he ate a cactus but when he took the plant he said what he did just killed the plant but that they were in abundance. Said the same thing about the snake population in this video. Genuine gesture and respect about taking from the land and respecting it at the same time. Edit: Watched another video where he discusses ethics behind using live bait such as a live mouse to trap a snake. Seemed like he didn't feel comfortable with using live bait to catch another animal

Before I thought it was really hard watching people kill snakes or eat them cuz I’m a snake lover but if you eat it I respect that, that’s like eating any other animal!

We caught, fried and ate a couple of rattlesnakes just like this out in west Texas on an oil drilling rig a while back. Tasted like oily fish but not in a bad way. Lots of tiny bones though made it a hassle to get the meat. Interesting experience but not worth the effort unless you are starving.

This was a cool video typifying a real live off the land pioneer attitude. I know this is nit picking, but the cast iron skillet/dutch oven really needs to be lightly oiled between uses to prevent rusting and pitting. Really enjoyed the video.
