I actually spent two days in Gorgona in the same condo and absolutely loved it. I've been doing a lot of research about Panama and all the benefits the country offers which are very appealing. Wish you all the best Trina, glad to see that you've made the move.
Welcome to Panama. This is a very beautiful country and I am not saying that cause a I was born here. It is truly an amazing place to live after retirement. As long you are aware of your surroundings and avoid red zone places, Panama is very safe.
Hi sis Trina, it was nice to see your experience. I'm currently living in Ontario, Canada and we're looking to move to Panama somewhere next year. The same reasons as you, we've had enough snow and cold. And I hope I'm going through my last cold winter here now. It's nice to see a sister moving to Panama to do full-time service. All the best and thanks for sharing your experience.
Did you make the move? I live in Ontario Canada as well and considering a move to Panama. Still in the decision stage as Mexico is also on my radar. I therefore listen to as many testimonials as I can for both places.
When you said "count the cost" I knew you were family. I am in looking to retire in 2021 and transfer to a ASL Congregation there. Thanks for the info.
Thanks for the mature perspective. Too many people want to talk about nonsense. Although I wish it was a bit longer and included some cost of living info, you brought up something that I hadn't considered....the relocation tour. My wife and I will have to look into that.
HI Corey. Glad you liked the video! We have two options for you to consider, one is the Panama Relocation Tour but the other is our Online Panama Relocation Guide - check it out at panamarelocationtours.com/guide Either one of these will make your move to Panama so much easier!
Good for you, Trina! I mean that. I'm thinking more and more about doing something similar. I'm looking for a new environment, culture, people, etc. I definitely respect your decision to move. Greetings from southern Kentucky.
I would like to see a spread sheet of the average cost of living: housing, utilities, Food, etc. Those are the my biggest questions concerning the move there. The video are helpful, but don't answer the most important questions that should be shared.
It varies greatly depending on where in Panama you live as well as based on your lifestyle and preferences. It can be as low as $1,000 to $1,200 per month for a single person or $1,500 to $2,000 per month for a couple. More info here: panamarelocationtours.com/living-in-panama#tab-con-24
Trina, thank you for sharing! I'm next to visit Panama. I met someone from there and they told me about Boquete and the City of David. Everyone says how they feel safe, cost of living, food, utilities, medical, etc are ALL affordable. That is a plus for me.
Boquete is very pretty. It has a nice small town vibe. Loved it there. It was just a tad bit too cool for me and David was a tiny bit too warm. LOL..Wonderful thing about Panama is whatever your ideal temperature is, you can find it here.
I congratulate you for having the courage to do it because here in America the drama continues every day from shootings in the supermarkets, to crazy politicians and the racism! Enjoy your life there.
This is crazy!!! I knew as soon as you said you were praying and "counting the cost" that you were my sister! My husband and I are from South Jersey, but moved to North Carolina about 19 years ago. We are visiting Coronado next week!!! Are you in the English congregation there? We plan on visiting Saturday so I hope you are! Been doing a lot of praying about this myself. Not sure how my husband feels though lol! Still, the time is short (you know what I mean) and I want to do more! And I've been saying my whole life that I wanted to move somewhere where it was warm all year. So interesting this popped up just days before we leave 🤔😁😘
OMGosh...Hi there sis!!!! What a coinkydink...I lived in NC as well. Well I CAN NOT wait to meet you in person. Yes I am in English and will most certainly be here when you guys arrive. Looking forward to seeing you soon.
Love your video. I am from Hackensack, NJ. I did my research and ended up in Medellin Colombia. However, I do miss the beach. I currently travel all over Colombia and do youtube to show all the people the beautiful country of Colombia. I did stop in Panama 18 months ago before I ended up in Medellin. I spent 2 weeks in Bocas and 2 weeks in Panama City. PC was very expensive. Medellin is a lot cheaper and the weather is perfect all year round. Well I am glad you like your move. In the back of my mind I still would like to live on the beach and see the sunrise over the ocean every morning. I might research Panama in the future. Your location just looks so quiet. I love more activity. Good luck
There are 1500 miles of coastline in Panama. Some areas are more "quiet" than others. Some areas are hopping places with many amenities and social activities. There's something for everyone in Panama!
Very cool Trina ... you are a strong brave lady ... good luck in Panama. Beautiful surrounds. What amazing luck. How is Panama doing in the COVID-19 pandemic. Oh, no, no Amazon? That's OK if you can get it at the post office of somewhere. Fantastic.
You can get Amazon delivered to Panama but it takes about 7 days. No deliver to your door. Today, June 1st, our quarantine was lifted but replaced with an easy curfew to not go out between 7pm and 5am. Life is good in Panama!
I'm searching & must decide between Panama & 2 African countries that I must pay a current visit to. Trina you just pulled me a little closer to Panama. It's a happy home, but you're the only person that I've seen address the issue of Spiritual or Religious relations which is what I have not connected to in Panama & will be abundant in Africa. Enjoy living your best life. God bless you.
Good morning Trina, my husband and I live in Atlanta, GA. We want to retire early abroad and devote ourselves to full-time ministry work. May I ask are you a Jehovah's witness? We are and are looking to find a congregation there to visit this year. If you are not a witness I just want to say thank you so much for sharing your journey. It is so inspiring. 😃
Hey Trina, I just saw your RU-vid video as I was looking at animals and different videos people had done on living there. I was very encouraged with what you said and I’m glad you’re doing missions work there, you have a sweet spirit and lovely nature and I know that God has blessed you there. Keep up the great work,... Blessings
An inspiring testimony, Trina! Bing and I are trying to figure out where to retire that offers safety, affordability and good medical care which is also affordable. Your comments on medical care and affordability would be appreciated! Salamat Po!!! (Filipino for Thank you!)....and God bless!
Hi Trina- I am waiting for the Corona to pass to come visit. The place you live in looks nice. I would love to live near the beach. Can you share the cost of something like that?
Hello Trina! I am a JW too! Did you say there is an English cong there? We hope to come visit after this Covid thing is finally gone. Can you send me some info on living there? Is it hot all the time?
You best bet is to punch in your the cities in Panama that catch your interest into your cellphone's weather app and it can show you the forecast and compare it to your current weather. You'll see a marked contrast between, say Playa Venao in Panama and Boquete Panama, for example.
So excited for you Trina! I also knew right away that you were my sister! Would love to speak with you one on one. My husband and I visited Panama City last year and were considering Boquete as an option for retirement and doing more in Jehovah's service. Soo happy to have read this today. What specifically attracted you to Nueva Gorgona? Is there a large English speaking population in Gorgona? Agape Love
Good for you!! You seem relaxed and happy ❤️ I live in Mt. Pleasant, SC, have never been to Panama but about to start thinning out the house, packing up what I want and sell and give the rest away. That is what is giving me paralyzing anxiety. I need help bad. Selling house and heading to Panama sight unseen 😳 need to get my Panama Relocation guide soon. It's funny that the packing up of the house terrifies me more than coming by myself a single older female to Panama sight unseen LOL please feel free to give me any ideas or anything you can think of to help me would be very much appreciated. I'm going to get in touch with Cat as well as Janice and get the guide. Planning on bringing my bed, my hand built kitchen table and chairs, probably a couch, cpl pretty lamps, pictures and whatever clothes I need and I'm going to get rid of the rest. All suggestions welcome. Shooting to be over and done within the next 6 months. My family thinks I have lost my mind, I'm the baby sister at 57. But I always said I would live in a third world country. Also have a dog and 2 cats. I'm like you and wanting warm, and beachy, rain forest might not be too bad with either. Looking forward to a whole new life 🎉🎉 prayers and thoughts very much appreciated ❣️❣️❣️. I have to do this!!! 3rd world country here I come!! PLEASE LORD HELP ME 🙏
@@PanamaRelocationTours is that you Jackie? I need to order the guide book soon. Reading on some of the different area expat sites and they're saying how expensive it is, scaring me to death. I'm not planning on golfing and going out to eat American style. Planning on living off the fresh markets and fish from the fish guy. Trying to get away from the American style. One guy was positive.
Hi Trina! Congrats on your move sister. My fiance and I will be staying at the Royal Palm very soon. We'd love to meet you, chat and get some advice. I'm not sure how long you've been there but we also have friends at Coronado Bay we can link you up with. Please message me on FB when you get a chance or on IG @haoblessed. Take care and may the Most High continue to bless you.
Hi Trina. We pray you are well. My fiance and I are here for the next week. Please either message me on FB, catch us by one of the pools or just stop by unit 608. We would love to meet and chat with you.
Hi Trina! I’m looking into moving to Panama as well and am going to visit this coming year. My question to you is have you had trouble finding places to do your hair? I’m a black Puerto Rican woman with natural hair and I love to get braids, goddess locs, etc
Hi Maria...I'm actually a hairstylist so I do and maintain my own Sisterlocks. But finding someone to do your hair here will not be a problem at all. I've watched the stylists where I get my nails done and they do excellent work.😊
Congratulations on your new beautiful, blessed life. I saw an apt. In that building for rent online. I would appreciate your input as to any issues like electricity cuts, water issues, Internet, overall building ammenities. May I also ask if you decided to rent and, if so, would you share a range of prices and what would be included. We could be neighbors one day! Thank you for sharing your wonderful experiences with us. Bless you, joan
In comparison to the U.S., Panama is very good quality healthcare whilst remaining dirt cheap. Imagine paying less that your co-pays with insurance in the U.S. whilst not having to pay insurance premiums. And ye there is even insurance available if you don't even want to pay that! It's laughably less expensive, with less red tape and less nonsense without all the middlemen dipping in to line their pockets. Plus, you have access to generic drugs that are not yet allowed in the U.S.. for fear of competition with Big Pharma. I can't say enough. My sis suffered a mini stroke around February. She was admitted to the hospital, fed good meals (not the hospital food you see in the U.S.), got X-Rays & Lab Work & MRIs and discharged a week later and the complained that all that stuff, including the ambulance totaled a whopping ~$570!!! In the U.S., even with insurance God only knows what it would have been. I hope this sheds some perspective. :D
Hey wait, just a couple of lines up you were saying that you planned to retire to New Jersey! lol Panama has places to where you can retire no matter what your budget is. If you're single, you will want to have no less than $1,000 per month and if you're a couple, no less than $1,200 per month. With those bare minimums you can actually live comfortably, just not in the middle of the capital city. Anything more than that then you have more wiggle room to live anywhere you ant and the sky is the limit, so if you wanna live in the former Trump tower, you can do that too, but you'll need more. That said, it will be a lot less than at the Trump Tower in NYC, if that is even still being called a Trump Tower nowadays given that he's fled NYC and sought asylum in Florida as a legal refugee or fugitive and is now suggesting the same to the NRA for the same reasons. But I digress... lol
Probably just a byproduct of being JW. They have a uniform shpiel when they're relaying their "message" and she's probably in that mode. Not a bad thing. Just a thing.
@@PanamaRelocationTours Marvin is implying that you're holding Trina hostage. Next he'll be counting the number of times that she blinks to see if she might be emitting messages in Morse code under duress. Just looking out her ocean-view window is enough to give anybody duress. lol Marvin, some people when they now they are about to be interviewed may jot down bullets of key points they wish to communicate. It's a common practice. If you attend any conferences or symposia you'll notice that. Not everyone is a life-long member of toastmasters international. lol That said, I think that Trina did an awesome job and am happy for her. And no, I'm neither am an JW or affiliated in any way nor receive kickbacks nor under the spell of Jackie and her magical mystery bus. lol Just saying it like it is.
I liked your video I told my mother I wanted to move there with her she’s a witness but she scared to fly on the plane 5hours I did it before in 2008 I went for carnival
