Since Pt. 1, we managed to find a bridge created while replacing C13, the 3pF. Removed the test electrolytic, C2 5uF, as it's not an issue. It will be replaced at a later date. The 2SA341 arrived, & is a Matsushita, NOT Mitsubishi. IF stage is operating properly. It passes 455 kHz ok. After reviewing some pics., the remaining suspects are 2 resistors, R8, (1.5K), & R9 (27K), & IF can L3. The 2SA341, X1, is not receiving voltage on its collector. Looking more like it's L2, or L3. All caused by a leaky Duracell battery. aka Duraswells. What a corroded mess.

Great Video The Old Hacker And Roberts Radios Used a Similar Transistor With 4 Legs And a Lot Of Those Mullard AF117 Transistors Used To Grow Whiskers Inside Causeing a Short Between The Metal Case And The Screen Conection Dont Know If Yours Is The Same I Normaly Use a Russian GT322B To Replace As It Does Not Grow Metal Whiskers inside The Can Regards mike P.S. That Radio Sure is Small.
