I love the m4/3 sensor (I'm a multi GH4 owner). How does this camera stack up in 2021? I'm interested in multiple SDI live production cameras. Older cameras are cheaper but still have good quality images. How does it handle low light? Are there other cameras that compare feature for feature that are comparable in price in 2021? Thanks for this review. Very interested in this.

i am a beginner and just ordered one with only 15 hours use. I don't know what V log is but will it mean i have to make complicated after editing colour grading stuff to make it watchable?

I discovered that the DVX200 is not capable of outputting OSD info to an external EVF via HDMI when shooting in any format over 1080p. Making it almost impossible to film effectively in 4K while shooting with an external EVF. I go to Menu->Output Setup-> and Video Out OSD is greyed out when in 4K, and when I click on it, it says "Cannot Set". This is beyond infuriating especially after investing $4000.

Definitely an interesting camera which is on my current shortlist for a 4K run & gun. The footage you shot looks nice except for the 120fps 1080p footage. That looks dreadful. You mentioned that it looks a little soft. It looks like an SD -> HD upscale! Is there any mention of whether this is actually upscaled in camera to 1080p?

I just bought the dvx200 and at first sight I must say it looks a bit noisy in low light especially in the grey/dark areas.. Is that normal? :D I've tried to reduce noise in settings but it probably lose a bit of detail.. I dowloaded 1.83 firmware. How do you set up the camera and what gain/iso, scene or color profile settings you use in order to reduce this noise in low light footages? You think VlogL can help in low light?

Hi Pro AV - I would like to know which one would be your pick in between these three: Canon xf405 - Sony pxw z105 - Panasonic DVX-200. In your experience which one has the better stabilization, video quality and worth more the money overall based on functionality. I need to buy a camera soon and as this is and invesment I would like to take the right desicion but I have no much time to try to find them and test them myself. I'll be doing a lot of conference recording and interviews, zoom and low light are important factors. Thanks a lot in advance for your opinion!

Is the autofocus Contrast Detection? DFD? Phase Detection?

This camera requires the step of color correcting in post correct? It shoots in the "Original V-Log" or whatever to begin with right? In other words, I cant take the raw footage straight from the camera to final cut or live streaming if needed correct?

One more question: So whats the advantage of having a cam-corder these days when DSLR's can do the same thing video wise? Along with taking great pictures with the DSLR. Consumer and Prosumer camcorders seem to be past it's time...no?

Would this be good for filming concerts in 4K in low light?

Major flaw with this camera is the fact that the lens isn't a constant f-stop throughout the zoom range. What's the point in having a servo zoom lens if its going to vary in aperture? I would have preferred a constant f4 than a f2.8 at the wide angle if its going to vary. However if you are not fussed about zooming in and out during a shot, then by all means you should get this camera because everything else is great.

You have to change that music you use on the sample footage sections, it's terrible! Interesting camera though.

I should stop complaining at Canon and get my self a panasonic. ;) I already have a G7 but thats not a run and gun camera. How is the autofocus? I hope not as bad as the GH4 and G7.I wish it was in a smaller form factor... And interchangeable lenses as i already have some m43 glass. So i guess i wait for the GH5 with my fingers crossed. I must say i really like this camera for what i can tell here so lets se... It would probably fit me better...

Sensor on gh4 and dvx200 are different.
