Nice video David... After discovering this yesterday on my GX7 I'm seeing it is available for a lot of the Lumix cameras and this alone is pushing my towards Panasonic instead of Olympus. To me it looks like only Panasonic understands how you would want to get pics to your computer. BTW lots of people seem to have issues with the username and password - it's the what you use to log in on the pc. Thanks again for the video!

Such good information. Thank you very much. I spent $60 on a tether cable and can not make it function on my Lumix G9. I haven't tried this method as of the moment, but I very most certainly will. I will be a new subscriber in only a moment. And again, tgank you.

Took a couple of hours to get this to work. But what finally worked was a new account on the PC with a username and password in ONLY alphanumerical characters, no spaces or other characters. After having added this to the PC it all worked like a charm. Remember to add the new user to your shared folder. I did find this solution in the manual for the Panasonic PHOTOfunStudio software. But there's no need to use that software.

Your solution for getting live pictures into an appropriate editing app for anything but the high end Lumix cameras (GH5/G9/S1) is probably the best one so far. But as you say.the hot folder needs to be changed for every new daily session you use within Lightroom. I decided instead to just have the hot folder on my desktop and just double click the RAW file into PS each time so it goes into Camera Raw for basic editing and viewing. Not a perfect solution of course, but infinitely better than nothing. Makes studio working so much quicker and less frustrating. Before this I went to the trouble of partitioning my laptop with an Androidx86 called PrimeOS. Whilst this solution allows you full working access to the Panasonic Image App it has a rather unwieldy way of getting the pictures into the Lightroom app. Although the process is very similar to yours, but without the support for RAW transfers, just Jpegs. T Regarding the issue of the dated folder and the hot folder you wanted: One way you can get the image files into a folder is to automate the moving of the images to your desired destination folder. If you are using Windows, I believe the program you could use for this is eventghost. You would want to watch the folder for activity and then move files or rename folders as you wish. I haven't done this but I do think it is possible. It may be time consuming to do this though and might require some computer scripting skills in powershell or another scripting language. One thing I would love is to be able to do is to join my Panasonic camera to my general home WiFi and be able to direct photos somewhere with the goal of importing into Lightroom. Sometimes you just want to pickup your camera at home or in the back yard, snap a few photos, and see them on your computer or phone without having to deal with an SD card. I know you can relate.

My network name has a space in it and there is no option to add one when entering on the camera as it is greyed out. It is a G9 and I have attempted to connect for nearly two years, never been able to - Windows laptop.

How do you do this on mac? Seems it would be a lot easier to just plug in a cord.

Ok, here's a challenge...I'm looking to make stop motion video's with my Lumix FZ300 but unfortunatly there's no software supporting and recognizing my camera it does work for a lot of DSLR camera's like Nikon and Canon. Lot's of stop motion software work with a build in or external webcam, but I want to use my camera for live view on screen and capturing. How do I trigger these programs to recognize my camera? Maybe set it up as default webcam or so...I don't know...Preferable with wireless connection or HDMI. I would love to use this with the AnimatorHD , Opentoons or Qstopmotion software. You would really make my day if you can get this to work! Thanks already!

Since Microsoft changed the way folder sharing works (it now only accepts user accounts, not share-names anymore), this proces doesn't work anymore. Can you provide a video for another way to tether the G80/G81/G85 camera's? Newer models like the G9 and S-series all have a new app.

Hi, everything worked except for the actual transfering part. The little icon showing the transfer is happening shows up for a bit but then the screen goes black and it says connection error... How do I make it work?

I just tried to do this, I got as far as setting the shared folder on my computer, connecting the computer to the camera wifi, but the camera never recognized the computer, so I hit cancel, then it asked me to select a PC, I did, but then it wanted a username and password, but I don't know it, what username or password, I can't move forward without that, please help.

I got through most of this video to the point where I enter the Network name. I have a password protected network and the camera asks for an encryption code. Is this the same as the password? Thanks. I tried the password and it is not being accepted by the camera.

Hi David, my camera asks for User Name and Password, I have none on my pc i know of except when i first login which is my first and last name but when i enter that into camera it won't allow me to put a space in between my first and last name, so I don't know what username its asking

I was getting a connection error and solved it by checking the rights for the folder under the sharing option. I was set up to read only. I set it to read/write and it worked.

After i put in the network name it asks for a username in id, i wonder which one i enter?

Hi David and everyone. I hope Someone will read this and give me a solution. I'm using windows 10. I got so far to the part where I need to add username and password. I had been trying to add my user name but....my user name consist of FIRST NAME and LAST NAME with a space in between. Unfortunately, there is no space bar when entering the user name. So I can't add my user name at all. I tried to change computer username without last name, but damn windows registration required last name. I also tried using email address register in windows 10. It won't allow me to connect either. Been trying and keep repeating this video for nearly 4 hours now. SO tired and frustated. Help please....

Hi there, do you know of a fix for Lumix G80 streaming? I cant find the tether option and am totally shocked.. I bought the camcera for the purpose some time ago and can no longer take it back to the shop having been misold but I am struggling to find a way to stream to obs from my G80. I reset my Windows 10 and now my GH4 show me "Connect error"... The solution was to set right the carpet that you are going to share, give it all privileges. Also set RAW + JPEG (although in the carpet only there are raw file then). , any of them could be a solutions when show Connect error. That worked for me after 5 hours trying it. I could do it again at last. Thanks again
