3:23 I have the GH6. There is a CreativeVideo Combined Settings - menu where you can configure if you want separated or combined settings for Photo style and such. Unfortunately the default is combined which is pretty stupid because most people want it separated. You can get separated settings for F/SS/ISO, White balance, Photo style, Metering Mode and AF Mode. I'm pretty sure it's the same on the G9-II. The default has the result that a lot of the tests are missing this feature because it takes some time to go thru all the options and understand the idea behind them. This is new, so even experienced Lumix users will miss this easily. If you have USB-Power with PD-9V-3Amp you can load the battery and use the camera at the same time.

Excellent look and well done. Qstn: when recording video, does it have a light or some sort of indicator on the camera that shows it's recording? I think some Panasonic cameras omit this small but important feature.. Keep up the amazing work!

I don't remember it having one. I'm pretty sure you can turn on a red record border in the menu though!

I've always liked Panasonic. Having IS in their lenses is nice, but I wish they'd truly provide something new or different. A competitor to the Olympus 12-100mm f/4.0 pro would be nice. I really like that lens. The 40-150mm f/2.8 pro also seems to cover the same range, and then some, as the 35-100mm from Panasonic. Though it lacks IS, so there is that. I also wish they'd provide a tripod collar for their larger lenses. The 100-400 really needs it. I'm mixed overall. The G9 ii looks like a good addition to the M43 format, and the lenses no doubt perform well. I'd say the camera itself is the real innovation here. OM Systems did a similar thing releasing the 12-35mm f/2.8 pro ii with the OM-1. Surely they can come out with something truly new in the lens arena. I'd love to see a longer focal length telephoto with IS, short of the 300mm prime or 150-400mm f/4 pro from OM Systems. Those are absurdly expensive for someone trying to go smaller and cheaper. At some point, there's no point to M43 anymore. This is coming from someone who loves the format. Keep innovating, camera companies. We just want a little more than incremental changes. The OM-1 and G9 ii are standouts. Now, get to work on your lenses. Short of spending $3-7K on a lens, that is. IS that works with the IBIS of the camera should be standard. Compactness is important. And if Olympus could create a lens like the 40-150 that zooms internally, was it a decade ago, then it's time for that to be implemented more often. It's so much more convenient than the 100-400's from both companies. I love seeing things being released, overall, and appreciate the continued effort. I just wanted to get my thoughts out. Also, to the video creator, thanks for your take on this release. I'd love to try out the new G9 ii myself.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts! I agree I’d also like to see the price of lenses go down. Glass is priceyyyy! And thanks for watching! If you have the opportunity to attend Pro Fusion Expo 2023 you should be able to get your hands on the camera tee see how you like it!

Well, being both mft and ff user myself, I would argue that those long tele like 100-400 or even 200s are the reason to stick with the system. I know that the f/2.8 zooms might look compact but in reality the are no better performers than f/5.6 lenses for a modern full frame camera, both for bokeh AND low light. "2 f-stops difference" is the name of the game, really. Of course I would take a 2.8 pro lense for mft over a 5.6 consumer grade lens for ff every single time, but its not enough for this system to thrive.

Will there be any issues with the new hybrid AF with older Panasonic lenses?

Why do people insist on cropping m43 cameras to 2:3 ratio?
@Verde88
@Verde88 9 месяцев назад
I often do it for horizontal photos, because it looks better/ more classic to me. On the other hand I almost never do it for vertical photos, I even often crop my FF vertical photos to something like the m43 format in this regard, especially portraits! Does it make sense? :)
