43 Rumours have stated the GH7 will retail for $2200 USD, featuring the same body design as the GH6 and include new Phase Detect AF as well as internal Apple ProRes RAW recording.

@@lnuponom2678 It seems a lot more possible now Nikon has bought RED. They already license ProRes in the GH6 and G9m2, the only thing stopping Lumix from having ProRes RAW internally is that RED patent.

@@lnuponom2678 No idea, I don't have the camera. Not sure if it would have RAW or RAW HQ. It was be absolutely massive either way 😂

@@stevelitton In theory, RAW should take up more space than prores. But personally, I’m not even satisfied with the volume of prores. It is very big.

my GH6 is still a powerhouse. Do you think they will release a new full frame alongside the GH7? That might make me more excited.

Yeah for sure, the GH7 doesn't make the GH6 any less of a camera. I will be keeping my GH6 whatever happens. I think the next full frame camera coming will be an S1 follow up. They have brought in the Entry level full frame cameras, so I would imagine that is next on the list.

@@DroseMr The other thing that seems to be getting a mention is internal RAW, so I guess it depends how important that is to you, if at all.

lets see what the specs are. If it offer 4k 240 , internal braw and internal nds then its worth an upgrade for me not fussed on this real time lut nonsense tbh. Great time to buy a gh6 as ebay will be flooded with people offloading theirs to get the latest gear. I was holding off for an s1hii but i hear thats not coming until xmas time or just after.

Ha ha yeah, I was thinking the same, I might pick up a second GH6 if I can find a good deal. 43Rumours is saying the internal RAW format will be Apple ProRes RAW. No mention of increased frame rates or internal ND but we will have to wait and see I guess 🤞

Yeah I am interested to see how AF works with the higher frame rates on this camera. I think it might just be a direct port of how the G9m2 works but I would like to be wrong.

I think they're just serious about PDAF. Best Buy has had GH5, 5M2, and GH6 on clearance. They're cleaning out the closet on the old. $2200 is interesting... I wonder if they'll also have any additional benefits like GH6 had a CFExpress and S9 with the 28mm. I think I'm sold at 2200 though.

There will be some great cameras selling at huge reductions now, so it's a win-win for everyone. I am still firmly sat on the fence with this one until I see the full specs for the camera. If we are looking at a camera that has PDAF and can shoot ProRes RAW internally thats great but if it still only has one USB-C port and an SD card slot I think I will pass.

If it's the same body as the GH6, would that mean there won't be a battery grip?

That was just on 43 rumours, it went something like 'Someone saw it and it looks the same as the GH6'. But we don't know if that means it has the same ports etc. I think the battery grip is likely not coming back with the introduction of power over USB but I would personally like to see it make a comeback. I use the grip on my GH5 all the time, admittedly, not an official Panasonic one 😂

Real time LUTs for GH6 all I want, not arsed about internal raw and also couldn’t care less if it were an MF only camera. The way lumix has treated the GH6 early adopters has put me off buying any LUMIX new from now on. I’ll buy via mpb or similar from now on. Though my next buy will be the A7S4 once/if released to upgrade from my A7S2. My GH6 is my day cam, my Sony is my night cam.

Yeah that's fair enough, I still feel like that is just something that could come to the GH6 in firmware. Maybe not now though 🫤 Nice, that is going to be a beast of a camera when it finally comes.

Yeah, I have a horrible sore throat at the moment. My voice isn't the best when its 100% 🙂 Trying tea and honey, seems to be helping a bit. Ha ha, I kind of think people would be pretty hyped up if that happened, so many people want that camera. Seems pretty nailed on to be the GH7, GH Rumours are saying its going to have internal Apple ProRes RAW which is an interesting development. I did think that was eventually the way it was heading with the introduction of SSD. Which are you most excited for?

But I guess ProRes RAW makes more sense because they already license ProRes to be used in the cameras and now the RED internal RAW patent has been bought by Nikon it likely will never be enforced again. For DaVinci Resolve users can still use a Blackmagic Video Assist to record BRAW over HDMI or just buy a Blackmagic camera so you can record it internally.
