@@art4kuwait There is noise present but its not bad. If you are taking long exposures shoot low iso and long shutter on tripod. I used mine for my first travel to UK and France. I came back with many great photos.

I have a lumix lx10 and it s great in low light but is the lumix 200 the same

yeah if you shoot someone a couple meters away but anything else phone sucks especially in low light and can't set features to better quality pictures; so yeah phone pictures are overrated, maybe for small screens such as instgram but who cares about that kids stuff

I like my P20 Pro, but even with the color correct off it’s still doesnt give you an honest image and the zoom isnt that great.

You prolly dont give a damn but does anyone know of a method to get back into an instagram account?? I stupidly forgot my login password. I would appreciate any help you can give me!

that was my question too because it looks like it connects to the tripod screw at the bttm..which looks like it feels more secure than the actual strap connection. Did you ever find it?

This is the Black Rapid Breathe Cross Shot in Orange, no longer listed by BlackRapid straps, but there are newer versions of the Breathe line available.

In Australia, this camera is still $1000 that is more than enough for a compact as far as I am concerned and do not feel they are worth that much and wonder how much the stores tack on for their percentage.

I purchased a book a PHOTOGRAPHERS GUIDE TO THE LEICA C-LUX from Barnes and Noble. It is basically the same camera. The manual that comes with the camera sucks. Check AMAZON or BARNES & NOBLE.

Yeah I agree.. it needs the tilting screen.. they'll be holding that back for the next model.. so we all go out and buy it..

I have the TZ100 and the TZ200 on order from Amazon.. (unavailable at the moment).. whenever the tilting screen is introduced to the TZ series.. I'll upgrade again... Cheers from Dj.

Reading all your comments, one could believe there was no serious camera before the tilting screen was introduced... Many photographers would disagree and so do I.

yeah, get the LX200...

Sure! Remember that the Moon is bright (especially when about 50% full-full)-no need for high ISO-spot meter and experiment. And shoot RAW to help get detail in shadows and control highlights. And much better to shoot it during high pressure, in stable air. Cold, frosty night perfect. And look out for bright "super moons" too! Lots of great advice on line about exposures etc. A crescent Moon looks great because of less direct light and long shadows. You'll be fine :)

Yet you failed to mention exactly what Lumix TZ camera you were using..... I ask as I am looking to purchase a camera and this one TZ220 has been recommended to my at my local camera shop.

@@Deb.-. tz31 which works fine to this days, although it is impossible to find charging cables. tz70, that broke down very quickly due to mechanical failure, TZ 202/200 now. The 200 has a lot of annoying issues: - very sensitive to dust, I carry it around in a sealed small plastic bag at all times - autofocus often just doesn't work, very confusing menus. The camera shuts down and has to be retarted frequently. - customer service non existent/dismal. In addition, panasonic cameras have a reputation of being extremely delicate to handle, so third party shops will often refuse to even have a look at it. They prefer sturdier Canon etc. - very slow to store raw files. - electronic view finder (EVF) too small. When using the EVF, the main screen turns off - only it doesn't. It does turn black, but it is still sensitive to touch. So when using the EVF wit your left eye and you accidentally touch the main screen with your nose or cheek, it'll change options in random ways. If that happens I have to restart the camera hoping that the changes weren't "stored". - very difficult to keep the camera still with full zoom when it is windy as you won't have a good grip on it. Also don't forget that the number of pixels stored is way smaller with zoom, going from around 20MB to around 6MB fully extended. This is of course no exclusive panasonic problem but represents an issue of all compact zoom cameras. It does mean though that you can forget going for bigger prints when using your zoom.

@@Deb.-. actually when I wrote the first question, I hadn't bought it. I did buy it later, and all that became a reality. Almost every picture has to be retreated in post production. I am looking at a system camera now, and I think I need one with an optical viewfinder.

@@preferreduser6601 Thank you for both of your replies, for some reason, they didnt come up in the notifications and was just rewatching this video again. I have been told by two people now that the TZ220 here in Australia, is not that great with both people after having used them for some time but within warranty returned them with full money back. One was looking at purchasing a Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark II The other person changed to a Panasonic DC-LX100 II ... she said it is much better,, her main cameras are Olympus brand and seems she is a serious photographer unlike me. At the moment I am able to perhaps purchase both 2nd hand.. either a Canon GX7 Powershot Mark II $500 or Panasonic DC-TZ90 LUMIX $350 What do you think would be better? I would appreciate your advice if you care to give it. ,,, I am such a procrastinator... my biggest downfall in life.

@@Deb.-. with my experience I'd say no to the tz 90. Incidentally, my tz 202/200 now broke down completely with the focusing and zoom process jumping back and forth. I have to get it to a specialist... Canon is generally more solid, I don't know the specific model, but I saw a very solid Power shot recently, let me check the type you mentioned.

Maybe some people don't use it in dusty environments (as suggested in the user manual) or simply look after their cameras!? I have a TZ30 that is 6 years old and been all over..... (ex army) no dust issues.. at all,,,, same same for my TZ18 (in some ways better than my TZ30) my first supper-zoom from Panasonic also no dust issues and is even older. I still use both cameras and get better shots than some people with cameras with all the bells and whistles. A camera is a tool to get a picture, the picture is a result of how you use it. A good tradesman never blames their tools. There's a joke in there somewhere!?

@@GoA7250 There are some models that are real dust magnets! No matter how well you protect them. My lx100 was one of these candidates... A real panasonic issue. But MY zs 200 works just fine and doesnt have the issue. But some do...

I think the noise reduction for large prints is better. I also have a TZ30 and a TZ18. In some ways the 18 is better and has an intelligent/digital zoom up to 30X zoom at a push of a button. I'm struggling to justify the upgrade to be honest. That said, the 4K photo stacking in camera looks interesting. The camera will take 49 (from memory) shots at every possible focus point and allow you to pick the shot with the exact point of focus you want or stack the pictures for an incredible depth of field. Did you end up being satisfied with the camera or not? I'm tempted by this as 1inch, good zoom and its only £350. I have an FZ330 which is equally garbage if left on auto. The image sharpening and noise reduction is a bit high even if i turn the settings to minus. It sets iso far too high. I basically have to use manual and raw with all settings at minus. It is very good if i do but i feel you should be able to be a bit more lazy with it.

In what way? Video continuous autofocus, slow-mo 1080P capture (not to mention HFR), frame rate, faster lens, more useable zoom range?

Don’t waste your time replying to people’s comments if you’re not going to add anything of value. Use your small walnut size brain to go outside take some photographs and try enjoy life.

Thanks for watching. Smartphone cameras are undoubtedly very handy but there's always a place for a dedicated camera. We did a quick check of phones vs Lumix to compare. At the time this camera came out (2018) the Samsung S9+ had a 12megapixel sensor (vs 20 megapixel on the TZ200) and no optical zoom which is fairly limiting. Fast forward this year (2023) the latest Samsung S23 Ultra now has four cameras including a 10x optical zoom but that is on a 10 megapixel sensor: half the resolution of the Lumix TZ200. We think there will always be space for both especially for photographers who want the image quality of a physically larger sensor in their camera, something that (for now) few smartphone makers have featured in their phone releases.
