Hi guys! I thought I'd do some casual vlog and shoot style videos showcasing some various gear as I have or get my hands on. Let me know if you like this sort of video. It'll give me a good chance to test lenses, cameras, and LUTs, outside of the regular videos I post. Cheers :)
It's a great performer. It didn't seem too exciting when I first heard about it, but it was a lot of fun while I had it. :) I hope you're well Mark! :)
This video was very enjoyable! Nice, laid back while still giving information backed with real world examples. And the lil birdies were a bonus too. In my opinion this type of video adds to your channel, Shane, without confusing the viewers. Looking forward to other videos like this. Maybe some street photography? Or behind the scenes of a professional shoot? Or behind the scenes one of your band's jam sessions?
Do you ever use an external monitor? Also we never made it to Australia in our travels so I (maybe the minority) really enjoy seeing all the different things in your part of the world!
Seems like a nice lens....For me personally, I still like my Panasonic S 24-105 as my go to video lens....28 isn't wide enough for me.....Sometimes 105 is too short, but not that often...I couldn't justify the 4 mm wide sacrifice for the 200mm...
Cool video! Do you use a filter on the 9mm when filming? I noticed that the edges can be seen when panning due to the strong stabilization of the G9II, at least when no additional electronic stabe is turned on which would cut the edges off, of course.
Lumix m43 amateur user looking at FF. I always thought the benefits of FF needed fast lenses, but this is not a fast lens, right? Are there benefits to FF over m43 with this?
The speed is made up for with reach, size, and optical stabilization. This is sort of similar to something like the M43 14-140mm lens - it's designed for reach while maintaining a compact size.
Where was this shot? We're visiting Perth to see my folks in April and this looks like a great place to have a wander round. (I may even have a LUMIX S 28-200mm by then.)
I shoot with the Tamron 35-150mm f/2.0-2.8, much better for me compared to this kit lens aperture. Indoor sports and theater and dance, the setup you feature would not work for me.
Nice video. I just want to say that it looks like in the first chapter of the video the g9ii clips have some more vinette than they should. Was that done in purpose?
How do you keep your exposure consistent when you're zooming in on the lens and it's stopping down to f7.1 from F4? Or were you starting out at 7.1? I know the lens has stepless aperture but I'm wondering what the advantage is to that when you're shooting video and zooming in and out and still have to worry about exposure changing.
Im shooting in aperture priority mode so the Exposure is changing automatically based in the scene. It’s very responsive to the point where it looks like a constant value but it’s not 😊
@@GeekyNerdyTechy Thanks for the reply! So you must be setting the lens at the 200mm max aperture 7.1 to get a zoom shot so it stays at that aperture even at 28mm?
