I got the ZS50 several years ago when it came out. It’s a great backup when I don’t feel like lugging around my big camera! The picture quality is still good, but the buttons are wearing out. I just ordered a zs80 to replace it. I hope Panasonic doesn’t discontinue this line. As a photographer with arthritis, I love lightweight options with lots of zoom.
Any idea when you will complete the detailed comparison of the HX99 vs the ZS80 as I am right there on purchasing and curious on your thoughts before pulling the trigger. Your videos have been incredibly helpful thus far so this one is very welcomed. Thank you
Thank you for the video. I guess sony hx99 is the only option for now if someone want to get a new point and shoot super zoom camera. I bought a zs80 a few month ago though, since some videos mentioned the sony is too small that is not comfortable to hold it and easy to trigger button by mistake. I hope these manufactures would make more cameras like these, or just gave zs200 a tilt screen.
So sad but they actually discontinued the zs80 in june 2023 and i feel like people are falling off this point and shoot because its so nice having a small camera thats so good that you can keep it in your pocket. I dont know if its just me but taking photos with my phone just feels a bit wrong.
Yes, plus you do not have enough zoom with phones. Even the best ultra s24 max zoom is 200mm the digital zoom is really bad at about 600mm. This is going to push people into bigger camera systems for sure.
Hello you've mentioned the autofocus system in the nikon a1000 being a pain sometimes, I just wonder if it's the same autofocus system in the p950 nikon. Great camera yes but I just wish the autofocus system could be more precise. Do you have the same problems with the nikon p950 autofocus system? I used to own an panasonic lumix fz300 which has better AF plus it just shoots faster. Cant have everything in life can we?
lol, sadly not everything in life can be had. So i found the A1000 has a poorer autofocs system than even the p1000 and p950. I mean it just seem like it struggle even more than the nikon larger brothers. Compared to the canon, sony, panny those AF systems the Nikons are just not near as fast... I found the Nikon were accurate when they actually did hit the focus. Problem is they hunt alot for me especially in foliage or dim light. Wish I could help more.
Yes even with the p950 I find it extremely challenging to get the focusing right zoomed in... especially in the dense foliage of tropical jungles. I'm not sure how much would a touchscreen help if it'd on the p950.. I find it handy to just correct the focus with the touchscreen on the fz300. Did you find the touchscreen on the zs80 useful ?
@@kayem2565 ahh yes, when reframing the touch screen did help. Smaller cameras really benefit from that a little more than vs bigger cameras. I actually want to put out another video on the subject of larger camera / lenses vs smaller ones and how it is made. Thanks... again....
OK thanks! Was tossing up between the tz200 and the hx99 as first camera. Wasn't sure whether the the 15x zoom was worth the trade off for the 1inch sensor. Also thanks so much for your reviews! They've been super useful. @@MAKE_PHOTOGRAPHS_ANYWHERE
