This fish is absolutely underrated and one of the best fish to see in action, even Alone he's hanging around doing his own thing having fun, it's not agressive but isn't a pushover either and manages to eat even among the Greediest of fish.

Thanks man, even if they don't earn their 5 out of 5 plecs algae eating wise I'm so happy with them, they're stupidly adorable, go in and out of everything and all four of them like to chill, dance and leap frog with eachother

Got my 1st one today, ran across it by chance, super active, not shy at all. Was sparring with other fish and shrimp over sinking pellets within minutes of being in the tank.

I saw these for the first time a month ago never heard of them before were 6$ so i got 2 in my 15 gallon shrimp tank with a few tetras. They are adorable i love them!! They keep the algae down and are so fun to watch!

First time I heard of these was from you, a while ago. We have a local guy breeding them pretty cool. Hope to get some of those when I'm ready.

Upvoting for Panda awareness! Love these fish, have 3 in my discus tank very colorful and happy. Only thing I've seen close to digging on these guys is that when they spar they create a huge dust cloud Looney Tunes fight style. Also don't forget they will hitch a ride on you during tank maintenance!

The local pet shop near my house had two adults. I had never seen them before that day. I really liked them! But they were $25 each so I only got one. Looking back now I wish I would’ve bought both of them. They’re great very active fish. I had it with my South American cichlids but I eventually moved it into my 40 breeder community tetra tank. It just glides all around the tank. It likes to swim and sleep with the plecos. And it definitely keeps my tanks algae under control. Because I have so many tetra I do over feed the tank a bit. He’ll swoop down and start eating all the food from the substrate. I do throw in frozen brine shrimp and blood worm twice a week and he loves it. I honestly recommend this fish. The store owner did say that they are sensitive to nitrites so definitely make sure your tank is fully cycled.

I really recommend you guys to have one of these even if you're a beginner. They are super easy to take care and very friendly. Btw I also never seen my panda garra digging in the substrate 😂

Mine were kept in a hillstream set up and were constantly entertaining. Very social, reminiscent of loaches. Alas they have all passed into fishy heaven after growing to about four inches and living good long lives.

Very efficient algae eating machines! I swear, mine actually plays hide and seek with one another. I'll have one on each side of the driftwood, one slowly creeps up and turns, the other just sit and wait. Once they notice each other at the end of the driftwood, the chase begins. But, they do not harm one another. A lot of playful antics and very competitive for food.

I just added a German Blue Ram to a tank with a Garra. Do you think they will do well with 80 degrees? It has been about 75 for a while and I slowly raised the temp.

I have round ceramic bio filter blobs as substrate, and these guys actually play soccer, well, theybeat around and turn the bio spheres around all over the aquarium. I ended up getting 3 of them, in a 37 gallon with 2 dozen tetras... realized they will outgrow, and just reading they like high flow water? May need a seperate tank for them eventually. I think my neocqrdinia may be in danger, or wont farm the population anymore because of these guys? Any comments and suggestions appreciated.
