These guys are one of the more entertaining fish to watch especially during feeding. They are very social and love to play "tag".
@aquaticconceptsbringingwaterto
I like they way they behave in a tank. It gives it more personality.

I keep rainbows so you know how many are being found daily! Just found out that the garra have only been introduced into the hobby in 2005. Amazing. Just got my first one last week. It is very intertaining!

I love this fish. They are very fun to watch in any Aquarium and seem to get along with all the other fish as well. They are great Algae Eaters.
@aquaticconceptsbringingwaterto
As I said in the video. Great fish to watch and a bonus they love almost every kind of Algae!

Great video. I really never thought about this as an Algae Eater as they are not a true Catfish. Great content as always.🤛
@aquaticconceptsbringingwaterto
No but that is why they got by me as well.

I mean, there are a lot of sucker-mouthed cyprinids that are really good algae eaters, algae-scraping isn't really special to catfish or loricariidae.

Just bought a group of 6 young ones. In a 125g well established planted chiclid tank. Be fun watching them grow and do their thing. Nice video.
@aquaticconceptsbringingwaterto
Thank you!
@aquaticconceptsbringingwaterto
Several people have contacted me on FB for where they can get these fish. What I would suggest is if you can't find them local, you might try typing in the name of the fish (Panada Garra) and then where can I buy. Suppliers that keep these in stock should pop up and you will be able to price them. They are not easy to find and breeders are very hard to find. Good luck. If you have any other questions please refer to my FB page facebook.com/george.wheelerartofwater/ there will be more information about these fish there. Thank you.

Ask your local small fish shop. They can order them for the next time they get fish and call you when they arrive. easy breezy

Going to be adding a small group to my 450g tomorrow, I’m only nervous bc my mbu lays on the bottom a lot and don’t want these trying to bother him 😅
@aquaticconceptsbringingwaterto
That can be an issue.

I just snagged 3 of these cute little water puppies. Thus far they seem to have more personality than the Juli Cory and Otocats.

Petsmart used to have them in stock. Lately, I haven't seen them at any petsmarts I've been to. They're a tad cheaper than the ones from lfs which can run up to $17.
@aquaticconceptsbringingwaterto
Same answer I gave to Kay Wheels. Type the name of the fish in Google search and add supplier and see what comes up.😊

👌I can't get these locally. I will try online if you would recommend someone?
@aquaticconceptsbringingwaterto
I would just look the name up and put supplier after the name. That is what works for me.

What’s the best black beard Algae eater? Also are these ones ok with sand?
@aquaticconceptsbringingwaterto
Yes with the sand, but no on that type of algae. The best way to deal with Black Beard is The Siamese Algae Eater. Depending on the size of your tank, you may need anywhere’s from 2-6 of them to be effective.

George would know better than me, but I think I read that they do in its early stages. Maybe George has more on that?

Bill was right. They will eat Black Beard Algae in its very early stages. That is why it is good to get these into a tank when you are setting up

They're similar to otocinclus but bigger. Like any algae eaters though, you wanna supplement their diet with meaty protein.

For sure not the most attractive. lol

So weird hearing that these guys are great algae eaters, all over RU-vid. Does someone own a panda garra factory or something and has paid you all to promote them?? 😂 Everything that I have read on them previously is that they aren't great algae eaters, not when compared to bristlenoses, ottos, or Siamese algae eaters anyway. They look awesome and I'd love to get a trio for my tank.
@kellycano1164
@kellycano1164 Год назад
They eat it but not like that.. I have 1 in a 29 gal and my whole left wall is covered in green algae he seems to be saving it for a snack or something. I was looking into a smaller Pleco myself cause Ottos are the best but fragile and small..
@giftofthewild6665
@giftofthewild6665 Год назад
@kellycano1164 I have 2 panda garras now and they eat aufwuchs but not really algae. My malaysian trumpet snails do a much better job of eating algae. I love the look of the garras but they aren't really good algae eaters (as expected).
@bonwrentaylor2743

@@giftofthewild6665 I've had a Panda Garra for about 9 months now and it spends most (75%) of it's time eating algae/biofilm from my aquarium glass. It spends way more time doing this (during the day at least) than the pair of Bristlenoses & Siamese algae eaters I have.

My daughter’s tank is the most algae-free tank we’ve ever had and a panda garro is all that she has that eats it.
