I first heard Bhimsen ji in 1963 and since then have followed him at every opportunity, including once hearing him riyaz in his house. Every single time he was brilliant. Once in a life time, it was Bhimsn.
Wow! I am very happy for you that you were able to witness such a rare opportunity to see Ptji in person, especially during his Riyaz session in his home! I wish we could reverse time so we would all have gotten such an opportunity. 🙏 my Pranam to Ptji as he sings and shares his musical gift with the Gods in the heavens. 🙏 Om Shanti, shanti, shanti. 🙏
In Panditj Bhimsen Joshi's voice I find eternal India! It inspires me to my more authentic self. That is the power of his music and simplicity ! It not only uplifts our minds and moods. But it can uplift our being itself.!
what a passion for the art!!! His pursuit of music is legendary. I consider it a blessing that I saw him perform live and had the fortune to touch his feet. Such brilliance and such a simple approach to life. Small words and big accomplishments. Shat Koti Pranaam.
My mind goes back to Panditji's concert at the Music Academy more than six decades ago. After the concert, my wife and I went behind the stage so that Icould introduce my wife as the grand daughter of Rao Saheb Nellikai Venkata Raoof MAngalore, a patron of Panditji. He was putting the tanpura in its case and we waited tillhe had finished what he was doing, greeted him in Kannada. I said "met Vatsala Bai granddaughter of Nellikai Venkata Rao. He returned our greting and asked me if Raoji was present in the auditorium and if so,he wanted to have his darsan! I said Raoji passed away at a ripe old age at Coimbatore a fewy years ago! N S Rao, Chennai.
What privilege : A rare Video Recording of Pandit Ji singing his favorite Raag Shuddha Kalyan at 16:20, 32:00 and finally at 1:03:00 - I wish there were a way to procure these. These are National Treasures and part of our heritage!
स्वर्गिक गायन! सत्य लिखा है Singer of the century.
Bhimsenji was always to the point be it remembering time that has flew, singing or interview. Our generation was lucky to have heard him live. Once at Calcutta airport saw him carrying tanpura himself walking with quickly but with grace. Only personality to match him was Ustad Amir Khan. Both were total music.
No enough words to appreciate so much God like eternal music. In fact we general people are not enough worthy to comment anything. It's just straight out of cosmic art of singing. Divinity is what which connects other people directly to higher source. Pt. Bhimsen Joshi ji, you are simply immortal. You are here in form of your music to be with next thousands, lacs of generations to come. Hearts full sadar "Pranam" "Namaste" even today, even though you are not amongst us now.
Divine music by Pandit Bhimsen Joshi ji. No comparison to his hard work, dedication, performances and flexibility of voice. His music remains in our hearts. There is no one near to his level of singing. Nice composition of this documentary by Films Division.
beautiful film of one of the greatest classical singers by a wonderful & sensitive Gulzar sahab ... more than an hour of captivating & interesting content ❤️🌹❤️👍
No words can describe Pandit ji. I remember him sing Teerth Vitthal in Kolhapur. Every one could feel that God Vitthal has arrived...Divine experience was that.
Someone said about Gandhiji - It will be hard to believe for the future generations that someone like is walked this earth in flesh and blood - This aptly applies to geniuses like Panditji. What a voice and what a range, Unbelievable ! A true Bharat Ratna !
Tears continuously.no words to say.panditji is very top never ever we can reach.we r great that we r having such a great artist .wah wah kya bat he.pranam panditji.
Indulging to savour heavenly bliss 38:00 ... that puriya kalyan so far.. soothing. no words AAJ SOBAN ..BAHUT DIN BEETE Many thanks Gulzar and Film division
How he humbly says about the film singers of his period who were beginning to sing in the movies..thank god he didn't listen to the current day movie singers..it would be a shame to even play these songs in front of him.
one things I have observed while reading the comments against any you tube songs of pandit bhim sen or JasrajJi that no body writes anything negative then how peoples click on dislike button , there might be two reason one that they don't have musical sense and second they belong to other community. Pandits sing the songs in praise of God and they people don't believe in this God because they have their own God which is reserved for their community or religion only . You know what I am saying .
Wow, Good to know about the Stalwart! Pandit Bhimsen ji and Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty ji have together sung Mahatma Gandhi's bhajan - his only poem - called "Namrata ke Sagar" which was composed by the Maestro Ilayaraja ji and narrated by Shri. Amitabh Bachchan. One of my favourites of Pt. Bhimsen ji from the post-millennium era.
?? He is deshastha, means belonging to desha, desha is Maharashtra, during maratha empire many marathis migrated to karnataka, including his guru rambhau
He was born in Karnataka prosperd in Pune became the property of India one thing if he used to be in Karnataka he might not have received Bharatha Rathna because of local dirty politics
Where can i get the recording that plays in the background from 20:40 (the part where pandit firoz dastur speaks) to around 21:00. The quality is excellent!
I | | shri swami samarth || om kali kali swahaa! Om kali kali swahaa! Om kali kali swahaa! Om vam varun Dev asmin deshe sadya su vrashthi kuru kuru swahha! pp gurumauli dindori we salute you three times heartily! 🙏🙏🙏🙇🙇🙇🙅🙅🙅
Where can I find the full recording of the first song in this film, Kanhoba Tujhi Ghongadi? Yes, there are some other recordings of the same song available as well. But this one's is so different, and elevating.
