It's time for some Infinity! Matthew and Chase play a 150 point game of PanOceanian vs Haqqislam. They are new at this, so feel free to point out every rule mistake!
Great tutorial to learn by. I'm just starting out w/ infinity, so watching Bat Reps like this one are helping me to better understand the rules. Thank You.
So great that MWG is getting into this game. i was looking into but hopefully it becomes a member of the schedule cause i like it and u guys definitely helped me with 40k
Both short skills have to be announced before the opponent's ARO when you do a coordinated order. Dispersion actually goes with the "1" facing away from the attacker, rather than toward. When shooting the LT, it could only change facing if your attack hit, or when an allied mini in his ZoC got hit, but not as an ARO before rolling dice. No, you don't declare who you're nominating as a new LT. The two 8's do cancel one another if both firers have the same target number. Great video, guys! :D
Thanks for the Batrep. It gives a good look at the game from a beginners point of view. As far as not getting all the rules right...well that's how it is when you are learning a new game. Once again thanks.
Fantastic, this game really needs well produced batreps and you are just the right guys at MWG!!! -Guts rolls are to be made after both the normal BS shoot rolls have been concluded. The full orders will always be completed is the general rule of thumb. -When the doctor gets hit all allies within her ZoC gets to change facing
Haqqislam look great. I love that this game is so fast and simple. No more 2 hour sessions rolling 20 dice and hitting nothing. The game is brutal and can end quickly, which is fine since you can just start another game. Great report for an awesome game.
Hey, I might be a little late to call it out, but when you co-ordinate orders, the burst of your weapons are reduced to half (rounded up, the minimum always being one). So here the knight and other two regulars should have had burst 2, with the Light Grenade launcher having the same burst one. (right around 20 min mark)
I'm going to sound like the biggest cheap-ass here but this game seems pretty good for guys who want to try their hand at miniature war games but are daunted (as I am) by the sheer number of models to buy and paint to field an average game. Also coming from a Muslim background it amuses me somewhat to see "Space Muslims" who aren't terrorists...they...they're not terrorists right?
As far as I understand they actually kinda follow along the lines of Dune. They control the "Silk" trade which is the key ingredient in extending ones life to immortality in infinity. Also they create some crazy as viral weapons. They do use hit and run tactics I believe. And they live on a desert planet as far as I can tell.
Merlins Beard So they're sort of akin to the Middle East but instead of oil, they're stake in the universe is "Silk". Not too far removed from their Earthly origins it seems.
they are more based on the muslims of the arabic 'golden age' when muslims developed many mathematical and scientific breakthroughs many hundreds of years ago. This is parralled in these guys who are very forward thinking and technical space colonists but also devoutly religious. They are a superpower though and not potrayed in this game as 'bad guys' they are definately not space terrorists lol
Just so you guys know, when you use cordinated orders your burst is reduced by half rounded up. So a Combi Rifle will be reduced to burst 2 and an HMG will be reduced to burst 2. I think you rolled 3 dice for each of your regulars when it should have been only 2 during the coordinated order shooting at around 22:00 mins.
Love seeing me some Infinity! It's a super great game! Really well balanced and cinematic. You NEVER have to tell your opponent who your Lt. is. (Barring the case when you are in Loss of Lt. status)
Great video! Just wanted to mention that religious troops can still use their action when the lieutenant is down/dead. I believe haqqislam has a lot of religious troops.
Great video - one thing I noticed. When the PanO commando jumped in and got hit and failed the guts roll at the start of the 2nd turn - you only move towards cover IF you can make that cover within the 2 inches of movement. Otherwise you must drop prone. As the commando was nowhere near cover, he should have stayed put and dropped prone.
Something also to note: When coordinating orders, the burst (B) of your weapons is halved (rounded up!), so those rifles should be shooting at B2 during coordinated orders.
Just gonna say something, this seems like a game that is much more fun where the players don't know each others lieutenants, because then you probably want to keep him safe while also don't want to reveal who he is by keeping him well protected the whole game, opening way to a ton of fun mind games.
You don't actually have to say WHO it was, just that you're in Loss of Lieutenant. It's also important to note that LoL is determined at the start of your active turn; you don't have to tell your opponent immediately when they've killed your LT. You just wait until your next active turn starts, then tell your opponent you're in LoL. Better yet, if you happen to lose your Lieutenant during your own active turn, you can spend two orders from your existing order pool to elect a new LT right away.
This seems to be about 150 points. A "large standard format" is 300, matches over 300 are very rare. However, due to the combat group mechanic the army list ups in quality rather than quantity, so you'll start seeing mechs, spider drones powered armor and specialists in larger armies instead of just light units.
Prone: if you can't reach better cover than you started in (no cover -> partial or partial -> total), you go prone (that's not in the rulebook but a FAQ clarification BTW).
Some other mistakes: -Grenade launcher has burst 1. Maybe you mistake it for a rifle. (Or it was a rifle and call it Grenade launcher) -When you coordinate orders you must use exactly the same order; get-up and move are diferent orders. (I made that mistake this saturday on a ITS)
From what I remember when you dodge and it is a face to face, the dodging model uses its physic stat against the enemy's BS, dodging model rolls 1 die for dodging against the shooters burst ( 1 dodging die vs. like 3 burst dice), ( pretty sure this is right, because I use dodge alot with my ariadna dog warriors).
Remember to declare your second order after your oponent has declared ARO, otherwise, great game guys, finaly getting your grips with the best game out there!
I've been interested in checking out this game, so thanks for covering it! To Infinty players: how does the army size in this video compare to what would be a normal match?
I thought the tear drop of the shotgun was to be in a strait line with where it comes from and the target. or can u turn it from point of impact to any where u wish ?
No, you do not have to reveal who your new Lieutenant is when you nominate a new LT because of Loss of Lieutenant or any special rule that does the same such as Chain of Command or G: Mnemonica.
someone may have mentioned this in their lives shows but who at the studio is picking up Infinity and what factions? i'm just curious as to who we can look forward to seeing in the future.
when the doctor was shoot, the other Ghulam gain an ARO, because he hasnt LoF before but his teammate was in Control Zone when recive the bullet. Sorry for my english
Matt has stated before in his Sit and Talks that he doesn't like the hyper sexualized nature of some of the Malifaux models so MWG will most likely not be covering it.
This is correct, but any movement skill in ARO is considered to be a dodge, so you would have to pass a physical check, then he can move half his first mov attribute
www.infinitythegame.com/infinity/en/facciones/ im literally getting addicted to watching these after seeing this game, it looks awesome!. only problem is, its in euro's so it may affect how you can order them :(, im may still get a small panoceano army
