I watched a lot of videos. I couldn't understand anything. In a very short time, I learned to find the nodal point in a wonderful way thanks to your video. thank you so much.

In 3:30, you efficiently explained what it took someone else about 20 minutes to do in another video. I will note that he added a bit of refinement regarding spacing of camera and alignment "poles" re: distance, and differentiation of poles. In your case, it is easy to differentiate the top of the back stand from the front stand.

Hi Sealand, the nodal point would not alter regardless of the photo subject. it WOULD change however if you were using a zoom lens and adjusted / altered the zoom after setting up - you would need to check and reset the position of the camera on the tripod head.

Bought NN3, and received it yesterday. Was struggling to do the initial setup and them came across this video. Very nice and precise. One question : How much distance should we keep between the two rods to align the vertical lines ?
@600GLE
@600GLE 6 лет назад
Hi UmanG Narendra Samani The two rods are just as a demonstration, you could use 2 lamp posts in the street, a door frame and a window, or any combination of 2 verticals. As a good test you can set up with one item close and one in the distance, and then check again with something in the middle distance etc.

or maybe parallax is stronger on panoramas indoors, so pick two points within a room distance to judge.

Thanks for the video. For any given lens, is the nodal point the same whether you're shooting interiors or shooting a distant landscape?
@joeheape221
@joeheape221 12 лет назад
Quite good. But isn't it true that the node point is about half way between the lens front element and the film plane, which means, in your case, slightly forward of the front of the camera body. I feel you should include that to make the student understand and that the camera pivots about a point halfway between both. It wasn't mentioned and initially I couldn't figure out where the 'centre' pivot point lay - or what I was looking for. Thanks again.

a wide-angle or fisheye lens will be taking a picture of the nodal ninja arm in that position, won't it?

after you found the no parallax point - if you were to move the tripod back say 10 feet - would you have to re-adjust?

when using a zoom lens, will the nodal point move as the lens is zoomed to a different focal length?
@600GLE
@600GLE 7 лет назад
n0tepad Almost definitely yes. Try it and see.
