Pantera was before my time. To any of you fucks who went to their shows consider yourselves privileged, because this shit looks as perfect as a metal show can get. Legendary band who has it down on lock, the crowd is eating the shit up, the stage looks amazing etc. A brief and rare moment in time when Metal bands were on the top and amazing things happened.
+Mark Arandjus Thats why new band need to be better fuck all this sweep picking shit i wish i could of been to one of there concerts i would of killed to see them
I think the same.. I'm 15 and I'm from Italy.. Here there arent't "Metal Bands".. My dream is bringing this kind of music and make a part of the italian music history.. I found a bassist and a drummmer, I'm writing a song with my guitar:)
I dont understand why people talk shit about the vocals. It sounds fking brutal and that's what pantera is all about. Phil's giving people insane performance
I know, I'm just pissed cause I was younger and didn't drive for 3 more years and they came around the Cleveland area like at least 4 times and I missed all the other times I could of seen them. But this show was the shit, especially for me being 13 and it being my first show ever...
What breaks my heart is seeing Phil go through so much as a man and still giving everything he had for this band. Through the pain he endured physically and mentally is unparalleled. So much respect for this man. RIP to Dime and Vinnie. The world will know no other band such as Pantera.
He wasn't even half assing it out there. Unprofessional as fuck. The band was on point and he killed the band. As far as his pain? His choice to become a junkie that couldn't deal with it. Do I love em? For sure, but don't make any excuses for Phil.
@@laneh2000 and we love all the boys in Pantera. It was what is was. It was fucking great when it was great. And sad when it was sad. I'm fan for life no matter what. I sure do miss em.
@@jamesnorton7601 nobody just decides to be a junky phil was sick and he still gave everything he has for the band.. i know he never wanted to hurt them
@@NM-xi8or I ain't got nothin but love for Phil. And yes it is a decision to become a junky. And to quit being a junky. It's all a personal choice. And Phil was going up on stage and acting like a jackass for years. Don't matter, what's done is done. And I'll ride with Pantera for life until the day I die.
@BaKs27 I’ve come from the future to tell you Phil is at it with the supergroup Shit again, this time he’s using the pantera name though…. #DimeLives #RIPVinniePaul
I'd say there were up there with late 80's Metallica but neither Pantera or Metallica could hold a candle to the beast that was Sepultura at the end of 96 just before Max left. I saw them twice in that final week, first at Manchester Apollo and later in London and the Manchester gig is still to this day the best show I've ever been too - even better than the Metallica show at the tiny Astoria II, just a few days before headlining Donington 95. But I miss Dime. Such a fun guy and while amazingly talented on guitar, he just let it rip and had fun with it.
I've had to do this kind of show. Not to the magnitude of attendance that this band has. But same style music. It can be killer on the voice even performing a few songs. Not to mention this singer has never been a strong singer anyways. Plus he's shitfaced.
Dimes tone is monstrous, absolutely monstrous! Best description I ever saw of the Walk riff is 'sounds like someone taking a T Rex for a walk.' Thought that was genius, RIP the Abbott Brothers 🤞🏻 RE! SPECT! WALK! 'BE YOURSELF, BY YOURSELF, AHHHHH!' Phil LOL 😆
Good old fuckin days.. Im proud that I was a part of this nation and still am ! Oh how i miss that energy, the sweat, scared skin, alcohol deliriums, fcked up bones, the pit, falling on and off the stage... This was a real fucking Rock Show ! R.I.P. DIME \m/

I love Dime's back up vocals, I l geek every time! He looks like hes having so much fun, this is what life is really about. Dime knew that and he lived and loved every second of it. I never met him, but I have more respect and admiration for him than anyone I've ever met.
It's better in person... at Five Seasons Center, Cedar Rapids, IA, USA Tour: Winter Tour 1998 Feb 2nd 1998 Here was their setlist.... Fucking Hostile Mouth for War Becoming (with Throes of Rejection outro) (Reprise) Sandblasted Skin Hard Lines, Sunken Cheeks Walk I'm Broken (with By Demons Be Driven outro) Suicide Note Pt. II War Nerve This Love Domination / Hollow Cowboys From Hell A New Level They were touring with Coal Chamber and Anthrax.. Hands down the best show I have ever seen in my life...
Phil has got the most brutally wretched scream. For only the three piece (gtr, bass and drums) Pantera had such a huge sound. These guys all seriously knew how to play. Great video sound quality too.
love how phil´s mic slips accidently in the crwod at 2:23 and he is first trying to get it back, and than later he is like: fuck it you can sing this shit^^
I just recently discovered what happened to Dimebag and Vinny. I never knew that band changed the history of rock n roll. Wish that I could have went to one of pantera concerts. RIP Dimebag and Vinny. Keep rockin. U will always be loved and remembered.
Dude Dimebag died when I was 9 years old now I'm 21 and I really wish I could see him perform it isnt fair that some asshole had to take him from us. He was one of the best and as a guitarist I observe his playing as other virtuosos like eddie van halen or john petrucci or yngwie malmsteen sorry im rambling im pretty drunk
I was blessed to get to see Pantera at Ozzfest. It was one of the best concerts I have ever seen, up there with getting to see Metallica in 1986 at K.C. Kember Arena, a few months before Cliff was killed and getting high With System of a Down in 1999. I am not rubbing it in, dude, I am just saying it was a nice experience and those were few and far between because I live 150 miles from the nearest arena, which sucks.
Alucard kiddo you will never ever see a show like Pantera EVER. I saw them waaaaaaay back in the bowrey in NYC b4 you were a thought and I've been to countless shows since, not a 1,no matter who,has ever come close to the pit at a Pantera show!!!!! I get chills watching the vids....because I survived their shows....lol
With the said....He's only playing a 2 note crunch. Dime was so good on guitar he could make 2 notes sound better than 90% of other seasoned guitarists playing all kinds of fancy technical stuff.
Thank you and God bless you a million times for sharing this absolutely precious footage with us. The world is missing Pantera really effin bad. Pantera NEVER gets old. Very cool to see Rex playing a limited edition Spector USA Jason Newsted five string bass. Muchisimas gracias por todo esto amigo.
Seen all the big ones a few times back in the nineties but the one time I went to see Pantera in a sport hall in Ljubljana Slovenija was the most memorable I have to say. Pantera was a lot about Dimebag of course but that exploding powerful voice of Phil is just insane. Still getting a little wound up listening to these old songs
Pantera was about going on stage and being as phenomenal a group as possible, just by their gift. You can focus on the culture part, but every position at this team is the best in the business. Drums? Bass? Dime? Are we kidding ourselves? The best thing you can teach your kids is that they were practiced, gifted and motivated talent. This is NOT drunk, crazy, random stuff. Every position on this team is an all-star in musical execution.
Is it just me or do American metal heads of the 90's seem way more badass and intense and moshing it up etc than they do today? Nowadays they just seem to stand there or text on their phones? What happened to the American metal head?
There is just more variety nowadays, alot more options to accurately express our emotions through. There are plenty of badass metal heads today, just harder to find because you have to go to smaller shows.
Because metal isn't what it used to be, don't get me wrong I am a diehard fan of bands like parkway drive and slipknot but they will never have the same contribution to the metal community as Pantera did.
I was one of the few that got to see PANTERA live back in the day....They were a force to be reckoned with!!!!!! As far as live acts go.......NOTHING CAN TOUCH PANTERA!!!!!
Always will be the best band...loved them beyond words...not because I knew them, but because they kicked ass...life is so much less without their music playing somewhere around town live.
I remember going to my first Pantera concert when I was 18 and seeing dimebag play live was one of the most memorable moments of my life. Was a very silent day when I heard the news he was killed
I'm not going to lie, I'm fairly new to Pantera. I don't know too many of their songs, and I generally listen to a lot of punk rather than metal. Don't get me wrong, I fucking love metal and I always have since I was like 7. Anyways, I can't help but to tear up thinking of Dime's death. There aren't many musicians that show the same passion he did to his music, and there are absolutely no musicians that can even come close to replicating his skill. Rest in peace, Dime. We fucking love you, you legend.
I was fortunate enough to see Pantera live several times. I've seen many, many bands live, and NO ONE comes close to the intensity that flows from the stage at a Pantera show. RIP Dime.
