@@machduel yes- but no, it is better to disassociate the champion's previous versions of themselves after the rework, basically assume that a reworked retconned the older version's story and the reworked version is canon

The theme goes through the various phases of his life IMO. it starts out small but persistent, becoming glorious, then dark, muddled and violent. Finally shooting upwards into the sky in triumph and hope.

@Jesse Idk, he looks so different in everything he's appeared in so far (Ruined King game be like 'SimpBob SquareJaw'). It's like each team had a slightly different take on the character, which isn't hard to believe from some of the short stories portraying characters differently than they're represented in-game.

300 is actually a really interesting movie from this perspective, because it is simultaneously OBSESSED with the muscular, powerful male form, but at the same time treats all those half-naked bodies with a kind of asexual "no homo!" abjection. 300 is PAINFULLY unerotic for the kind of movie that it is - especially for the time and subject matter! The Spartan soldiers in real life were famously enthusiastic lovers of man-on-man action, but you'd never know that to watch 300, where their only relation to their fellow warriors is RARR BLOOD AND HONOR PROTECT THE HOMELAND warrior culture machismo, and where all affection is mediated through tragedy and sacrifice. Which is probably one of the major reasons why the US military used to show 300 to its soldiers before military action in Iraq and other middle-eastern territories (not sure if they still do), that movie fucking looooooves soldiers and hates anything Persian or Middle Eastern. Granted, that's probably more Frank Miller's fault, that shriveled old fascist asshole, than Zack Snyder, who mostly seems to have been interested in the film as a stylistic and hypermasculine tone piece.
