In case you've ever canned red onions in red wine vinegar, and don't know what to use them for, they are GREAT to use in homemade salad dressing. I blend them (with the vinegar from the jar) with the rest of my ingredients for dressing in my nutribullet, and it's delicious!
What an outstanding idea, Billie! I do them as refrigerator pickles, so I usually have some that need to be used up. I will definitely do this next time.

@@growandpreserveFull and hot! We have not had much more than sprinkles so far! I have pulled the pantry items I need for the next few days just in case so I don’t have to go out to get them. I have a friend who has a better view of the coast than I do and she says that it is coming to the shore, but much more slowly than predicted. Thanks for asking 😊
We did the pantry challenge for the month of January! What an eye opener for myself as well as my husband! Besides saving money, we also learned a lot about substituting ingredients! I was able to get through quite a bit of my freezer as well as my home canned goods! Thank you for another great video!~ Vicki

Carter, it's looking so fresh and clean! I know you can't wait until it's done. I finished the Jan challenge as well, I went to the store yesterday and bought a few veggies, eggs, crackers, and cheese. Budget 50$ And now onto February. Still cleaning out my meals that I had made for our yearly camping trip to the gulf (Dec jan Feb) which we did not get to take this year! I'm hoping I can use them all up by March! I still have 2 hams in the freezer I'd like to get in the freeze dryer and canner, as well as some steaks I'll sous vide and freeze dry. Using up the odds and ends as well as canning and fdrying the big stuff has freed up two of my small freezers. I'm hoping I'll clean out the refrig freezers before spring! Jan I also did the canuary challenge and am pleased with my progress there, especially my first try at tomato soup. It is so good! Thank you again for your videos. The samosas look fantastic. I'm thinking I can stuff mine with schawarma and dip into hummus or cucumber yogurt dip.
I forgot about the Winter camping trip! So sorry you missed out on that this year. Keep me posted on those steaks, in the event you get to them before I do. I'm not making as much freezer progress as you are, but I am making progress! 12 packs of bacon out of the freezer and 12 pints of bacon on the pantry shelf this weekend. Freezer burned packaged grilled chicken strips from the freezer through the fd to the pantry for some extraordinarily happy kitties. Have we talked about pork tenderloin in the fd? I'm thinking to sous vide and fd one of them as a test. Your shawarma samosas sound amazing!
Food looked lovely. I could see David’s feet going back and forth. When you called yourself “numb nuts” I had to laugh. That expression has always been used in my family but I hadn’t heard it in awhile. Can’t wait to see the new remodel and big reveal. We need some before and after shots have a nice week..

When I built my house, I bought a stove/oven that had an airfryer setting in the oven, as well as convection (Ive always loved having convection). At first, I didn't use it much, but lately ive been using it quite a bit! You can do much larger quantities this way too.

Hi Carter. So nice to see you. I have been so busy that I haven't watched you for a while. I need to get caught up. I thought at first you put in a pot filler.... upon looking at your past videos your last one was black? I just love going into my pantry and looking at all our canned goods and it is so nice to just pick a jar of whatever you feel like having and whip up a nice lunch or dinner. Experimenting with your own recipe ideas and be creative. Tomorrow is another canning day for me as my Zuppa Toscana soup has dwindled down to 2 pints! Can't believe how much of it we go through. Hoping to do atleast 14 pints. Can't wait to see your kitchen. Your a lucky gal. Nice to have a beautiful space which you spend a lot of time in. Cheers!

Thanks, Pauline! That's Mama (creative, huh?). She was born under our deck in Atlanta about 8 years ago. Her Uncle-daddy-baby daddy was the neighborhood tom cat we had already brought in for overnights, as he and my dog were best friends. Long story short-ish, we brought the as-yet-unnamed-mama in when we heard coyotes one night. I went to get her from the guest room the next morning, and she was curled up in the sink and a tiny little head popped up under her belly. Suddenly we had 3 orange house cats!

I was able to "kind of" do the challenge, but hosting a huge baby shower at my house kind of threw a ringer in there. Unfortunately we don't have a Costco here in Tupelo, but I was able to make a Costco run today since I had a visit with my functional medicine doctor yesterday in Franklin, TN. Needless to say, I way overspent! So I will be forced to do the challenge this month...lol! BTW, you are the only person that I've ever heard use the term " numb nut" besides my husband! I love the way you can throw things together and create such delicious meals. I cook that way too, and my husband used to say I needed to be on "Chopped". I don't think I'd do very well under that kind of pressure!
Marsha! Were you at my Costco in Brentwood?? So glad you were there to support them. I was imagining their revenues were down since I haven't been there since December. ;-) My kids used to want me to do Chopped as well. Maybe I should think about how I could do a chopped episode on the channel every now and then. Fun idea to think about! Let me know if you have suggestions.
YES! I thought it was Franklin, but I just checked, and it was in Brentwood! Every time I go to Memphis, Birmingham, or Nashville, I seek out a Costco. I can assure you I helped make up for their loss of revenue from your visits...lol! A chopped episode would be awesome, but I'm not sure how you could pull that off. Great Ideas! I also love the Pantry challenge; Eddie and I even discussed going into March because we still have so much in the freezers. I have even canned a whole ham and made ham stock. That has actually made a little dent. I also have a whole turkey, so I will thaw that out and can turkey meat and stock. Thank you again, Carter "BYE BYE" LOL. Loved the bloopers! Good for you on trying carnivore! I hear folks get fantastic health results with it. One of these days when I'm not working on recipes I need to taste, I'd really like to do it too. In the meantime, enjoy those jams and chutneys! See how creative you can get with them. I love the Dowan bowls too. The company that makes these white bowls is their sister company. Forgot to answer the appliance question. Supply chain issues is mainly what I'm hearing. There's one brand where all of their appliances are backordered for at least a year. My oven issue I'm still not sure about. They're saying the recent storm messed that up, but that was only 8 days, yet the delay is six weeks. 🤔

I saw that about the croissants. I'm trying to ease myself into real butter so I can try these! David will be thrilled. I did send them a request for bagels and pizza crust. The response back was that they'd had several requests for those and had them on the list. You're going to love the bowls!

I really don't measure anything, I just taste it along the way. Generally speaking, it's a very finely diced half shallot, vinegar or lemon juice, EVOO, salt, pepper, sweetener of choice (I usually use stevia drops), and usually an emulsifier of some kind, either dijon mustard or sunflower lecithin. Hope that helps!
