@TheWehrmacht1944 actually, there's the PZ 3 - IT warhead which is designed to penetrate reactive Armor. The PZ 3 can penetrate all known kinds of armor.
@30sectodeath Against this reactive armor there is a special warhead called "Tandemhohlladung". It's like two shape charges in a row. The first one takes out the reactive plate of the armor and the second one hits the tank itself. By the way: The Javelin is extremely heavy and expensive while the Pzfst 3 can be used be a normal Infantry Soldier that still carries his rifle. If you have a Javelin to carry there is no place for anything else.
The Javelin is fire and forget on almost 4 km, while the PzFst 3 is an unguided aiming weapon which is effective on a range of approximately 300 m with a good chance of missing (and just reveling your own position). When missing a tank you have to expect a very inconvenient echo.
@malaymercernary Well so far several hundred thousand were produced and thus there are obviously far more Panzerfaust 3s than tanks, APCs, IFVs etc. an enemy could field.
@southernprideyankee Its a 1 shot weapon. Only the aiming devide alogn with the trigger components etc. is detechable and reusable. Like a Javelin for ex.
@BasementBeginnings It can be reloaded. One's actually tasked to keep the hand piece on the battle field, because it's a) somewhat valuable and b) if you happen to find another cartridge, you can go kill the next tank.
@malaymercernary Yes right because blowing up my car is no money^^ The warhead of a Panzerfaust 3 costs less than 300$, that's slightly less than most cars/trucks lol. The best weapons are state-of-the-art fighters, main battle tanks etc. Apparently Afghanistan, Iraq and co. were invaded without much of a problem.
@malaymercernary Obviously only if the tank uses the road, whereas a Panzerfaust 3 can be carried around by a single soldier plus it has a range of several hundred meters and how do you want to use IEDs when you are attacking? IEDs like mines are obviously only useful if you want to prevent an enemy from using a certain road or area.
Harmless; The rear of the launcher contains some shredded plastic that explodes out the back deadening the blow. This allows you to fire it safely inside just about any confined space like a building or a bedroom or anything like that.

The hole would be only very small in depth, so very little water would be let in (thats assuming you can somehow close the distance to such a monster, much less score a hit below the water line). No offence, but 15 inch shells make much wider holes, and battleships can still takes dozens of hits from them and not sink.

@TheWehrmacht1944 Steel isn't the same as armor. The density of an armor plate is 3 times larger. For example 1 cm of armor is equal to 3 cm of steel. Modern tanks can easily have a thickness of 12 cm armor, 12x3= 36 cm or 360mm. (thats why many heat rounds can penetrate at least 400mm steel) You also have to reminded that many tanks has added armor, so many rocket launchers cant destroy tanks. The panzerfaust 2 is capable to destroy a T 72 tank so i think the PZF 3 can destroy modern tanks. ;-)
Actually fun to shoot, whrn the rocket ignites it feel as you get slapped hard in you face. Not so much fun to carry it around. My experience comes from serving in the Swiss armed forces.
same with the RPG it uses the the shape charge. some modern tank uses an reactive armor than counter this technology or warhead to get inside of the tank so i think it ddnt work in some modern tank unlike the javelin it really count to do his job to be a tank destroyer :)
Ja und du kannst auch Stellungen damit bekämpfen, wenn man das Abstandsrohr drinne lässt, weil dann kein Kupferstrahl entsteht, sondern es nach vorn streut. Das Abstndsrohr ist nur dazu da, das das Kupfer zeit hat sich zu einem Strahl zu entwickeln.
@malaymercernary That's obviously because the Talibans avoid fighting real battles, instead they rely on ambushes, suicide attacks and ieds. They don't wear uniforms, thus it's impossible to know who's an insurgent and who's a civilian, that makes it pretty much impossible to defeat em, of course militarilly they are completely inferior as you can see the international troops are in Afghanistan for 10 years and so far less than 2300 international soldiers died during those 10 years.
The FFV AT4 can rather be compared to the heavy Panzerfaust Carl Gustav, which is used today by the Bundeswehr to illuminate the battlefield. I shot battlefield lighting myself with the heavy Panzerfaust when I was with the Panzergrenadiers of the Bundeswehr.

keine druckwelle... so ein schwachsinn! selbstverständlich gibt eine panzerfaust eine druckwelle! und zwar keine geringe. kein rückstoß stimmt natürlich
Kann ich bestätigen. Für Übungszwecke wird sogar nochmal ein extra Schild angebracht um die Druckwelle zu kompensieren, bzw. dass der Raketen strahl nicht ins Gesicht gerät.
@malaymercernary it is odd you claim rpg22 is better, and then immediately state PZ hasn't been tested in real life situations. Do you see the logical flaw you are making?

@malaymercernary I don't get it, seriously :D I'm talkin' about an all new anti reactive armor head, you tell me weird things about the Warhead being too long, then state that the PZ3 hasn't been tested in RL situations which I can confirm and end the whole thing with a completely inappropriate statement about WW I and II? Lol ofc germany lost both WW's, but you do realize that they're called World Wars because it took the western hemisphere + russia to stop em? Btw, RPG 22 vs reactive? LOL!
