I just lost my soulmate of 38 years to an aggressive form of cancer. Long story short, I have been getting clear messages from my true love. Just the other day i played this song and this version for the first time. When the chorus came in I felt as though it was my love sending this message to me through Paolo's voice. It was profound and clear as day. I was well aware that the song was written for other purposes but when Paolo started singing "I'll be there waiting for you" I had a wave of emotion and a flood of tears and a warm feeling with a beautiful release of tensions that i have been carrying since she breathed her last breath. I now play it at the beginning of my day and end my day playing it again before sleep. Paolo thank you for this song. It is helping me move through some very difficult times🙏🏽❤
She still with you my friend in your HEART she will always love you, I,m so happy you find strength in. PAOLA MUSIC, it will always put a smile on your face. PEACE BE WITH YOU MY FRIEND.✌️😎🏴🇺🇦
something about him is just divine, the opening seconds of this performance are so captivating, the camera man caught something amazing, the look on his face is simply not from this world
This is quite funny reading, since I got that same feeling, And led me in to thinking about the meaning of the song. And I cant help reffering the text to Life itself, and staying humble about wht you will recieve, in matter of happiness. So please give me som Candy before I go :) :( :) Thank you Paolo Nutini!
I was also mesmerized by that look in his eyes -- I have never seen a performer go into a trance like that -- it is as if he is just feeling all the love and energy in that stadium and letting it flow through him . . . letting it take him to another state -- maybe gratitude, maybe love, maybe God . . . to prepare for the best performance he can offer . . . you can see his soul and it is so beautiful. I can watch that beginning over and over.
@@stoffebagus -- I agree and thanks for pointing that out, about the song itself. It's like the law of attraction -- you can take the saddest thing and accept it and look at the good and just be there, not fighting it . . .allow yourself to see the writing on the wall, don't fight it -- don't feel sorry for yourself -- just grab some candy, and hit the road . . . but still be waiting in case they ever want to come back -- let them know your heart is always open and your love will never stop. Quite amazing, really. ;-) Yeah, thank you Paolo Nutini! ;-)
Divine?..he's nowhere near divine Jeff Buckley is devine..your just having a wet dream over an image..that's all he is..it's betrayed in his voice..he imitates soul
i have never thought him under rated since the first time i heard him sing i used to send messages to him via fan site when he stopped singing for a while great voice
@@paulwhite3489so why on his most recent uk tour did he play venues with sub 5k capacity and not arenas? Why is he supporting American bands in the uk? Miles off it, Paul.
I've watched this so many times that I've lost count. He is so present and engaged in the experience. I am always overwhelmed whenever he smiles. Melts my ❤ !
I watch this particular video most days. It never gets old for me. Totally engrossed in Paolo himself and how he is on another level right throughout the video savouring every moment and drinking it all in
One of the most beautiful songs ever written and sung. I'm 50 this year and I've lived through and appreciated so much music and I think I can honestly say this is the one x
This was my wedding song… this dude is one of the greatest song writers and voices of the last 60 years… he’s the DUDE and as he continues to transcend and flourish musically I sit back in awe of the brilliance at show! HEY YO PAOLO….. YOU MY MAN DAWG!!!
Yeah, I agree, he's brilliant. Who is he? He adds so much to this amazing song. Great band. I am not into the blues or R&B so much, so I do wish Paolo Nutini would write more pop songs like this one -- since it's a real classic, and since he delvers it so beautifully . . .it's so rare for a blues singer to write a pop-rock song like this . . . maybe he has others I don't know about? All the other Paolo Nutini songs I have heard here on YT are blues. But bless him for this one! But I am glad for all his blues fans, because he does that great also. ;-)
I'm sure that lots of people like me are still here, listening these amazing performances. But Paolo hasn't been musically active for a while though, I hope he is back on it soon. The world still needs it. Maybe even a little more
Went to school with paolo he still stays in Paisley. He doesn't like the attention he doesn't like the fame he just loves his music. He's made his money enough to last him a life time. I'd be surprised if he comes back. I see him out running through Paisley with a hood up. He doesn't like being famous in the slightest
@@Weirjetwashing thanks for the comment. I reckoned that was the situation . It is a pity his management and record company cannot come to understanding with him. Just release new music and don’t tour/ promote it. This is nearly 2021. He could release music and do live video performances. For example , Iron Sky , from Abbey Road sessions is still probably his best performance. Whatever, God Bless him and I wish him well but, he is amazing talent .
@@Weirjetwashing Thank god for that and its not the drugs, he's had the guts to leave it all, and keep his sanity, if only Elvis had done the same, but Parker had him by the straight and curleys, he couldn't. Not a nice place to be....
This performance is an absolute masterpiece from Paulo's entire team. Lead guitarist is outstanding here, and the emotion portrayed in the last couple of minutes is incredible. Wow.
I keep coming back to Paolo when having a coffee break, but this time I just have to give a shout out to the musicians. I always concentrate on Paolo cos he's just bliss, but we really have to acknowledge how masterful these musicians are. They're not just playing their instruments, they're literally feeling it, feeling him. Whatever song of his, he always has amazing musicians.
Yes I'm still here!2 years after I posted my first comment, which means I'm almost 69 now..re coronavirus and lockdown, how lucky r we to have access to You tube and enjoy talent like Paolo...Keep safe x
I know how blessed I am to see him in concert when he first started out. He could barely look at the crowd way back then. I so admire his growth and his voice has only gotten better. ❤
It was 12 years ago when I first heard Mr. Nutini’s voice. The song was “Coming Up Easy.” And it was then I knew, I would listen to him for the rest of my life.
So this is the first time I’ve heard this song and of course this is the BEST VERSION from what I’ve been able to find in the last 5 days! This is so good that I am taking my daughter to see him in Ireland in July! We will be coming in hot from Atlanta! Happy New Years everyone!!! ❤️☘️☘️🍻🙌🏻
I seen him last year and it’s a core memory!! He’s unreal. I will say he changes the chords on a few songs including this one ! So it doesn’t sound the same as this version, it was still incredible though, have fun!!
The finest performance of that song that I've listened to - absolutely brilliant. I play it over and over again as it is the benchmark performance for me,
Where would we be without beautiful music like this in our lives? Even it it breaks our hearts(which this bloke does every time I listen to this), we still keep coming back for more eh? Bless you Paolo and... tgc.
I don't know, He's a great Performer and I'm not too sure about his other performances but in this one He looks so happy because He's high on some kind of drug .
Yeah he smokes a lot of weed daily, but I've smoked for a few years and can tell you it's probably not his high making him so happy, weed makes you very tired and drained and chilled out, he's probably just having the fucking time of his life watching his fans. You'll see him zone out a lot while looking into the crowd, that's the weed lol.
Omgosh this guy is so deep full of such essence Look at his face so humble no ego no matter just human currency singing his heart what a song timeless in every way
I saw/hear him the first time in my life and was very happy‼️ 🔊🎸✌️🤩👍
When my kids saw this video for the first time, they were sitting on the sofa without a move ..with their mouth open..they were 2 yrs and 4yrs old that time..(it was kind of miracle) they still love it..me too of course ❤️
I was perched outside in the pouring rain Trying to make myself a sail Then I'll float to you, my darling With the evening on my tail Although not the most honest means of travel It gets me there nonetheless I'm a heartless man at worst, babe And a helpless one at best Darling, I'll bathe your skin I'll even wash your clothes Just give me some candy before I go Oh, darling, I'll kiss your eyes And lay you down on your rug Just give me some candy after my hug Oh, and I'm often false explaining But to her it plays out all the same And although I'm left defeated It gets held against my name I know you got plenty to offer, baby But I guess I've taken quite enough Well I'm some stain there on your bedsheet You're my diamond in the rough Darling, I'll bathe your skin I'll even wash your clothes Just give me some candy before I go Oh, darling, I'll kiss your eyes And lay you down on your rug Just give me some candy after my hug I know that there're writings on the wall But, darling, I'll bathe your skin I'll even wash your clothes Just give me some candy before I go Oh, darling, I'll kiss your eyes And lay you down on your rug Just give me some candy after my hug Oh and I'll be there waiting for you And I'll be there waiting for you Oh I'll be there waiting for you Oh I'll be there waiting for you Oh I'll be there waiting for you Oh I'll be there waiting for you All the cutthroats and the jagged ends All of them have got me waiting and waiting All the cheap and the sugary philosophies Have got me on the fence just waiting and waiting All the angels and their halos All of them have got me waiting and waiting All the cutthroats and the jagged ends All of them have got me waiting and waiting All the cheap and the sugary philosophies Have got me on the fence just waiting and waiting All the angels and their halos All they do is keep me waiting and waiting [In background:] I'll be there

HE smiled , thanked everyone, and then...he went into song, into universe, and sing the sound of it.
So unbelievable great performer, as someone said earlier: it is not he who is singing, but his soul...Every time I hear him, this is the right feeling in me... He is looking in the crowd, seeing no crowd but......what he sings...
Amazing song and the crowd enjoyed it. My 3yr old son can't get enough of it when I play it for our 5yr old who has autism. It really helps to calm him down. The words "I'll be there waiting for you" I'll be waiting for my son always and forever.
The happiness and gratefulness displayed on every close face frame. Love me some Paolo, and his band is so solid. I have been grateful to have followed Paolo's art through the years.
I was lucky to have been there. He was almost perfect, very close to being the super highlight of the festival, had it not been for a certain band called Fleetwood Mac (including Christine McVie and Lindsey Buckingham) who followed Nutini's set.
In complimentary to him being a brilliant artist, Paolo's lucky he's got a great band. Just see his live performances, especially on his last album. Pure bliss..
