We used this song when we were spreading my 20 year old sister's ashes. We had a mandala ceremony at sunrise on a hill overlooking every house she had lived in. This song is every quiet moment in my head and it is welcomed. I don't want silence, I want the feeling of hearing this as she was returned to the earth. Paolo, you have been such an integral part of my being, musically since you released your first single when I was a young teen. But now, you are like a part of my sister that travels with me in every moment of life. Thank you for this masterpiece xxxx
I have been googling paolo for the past 8 years, hoping I would find an announcement, that he would be back.. I had almost lost hope and there he was.. I literally cried when listening to this song for the first time. My Favourite singer was back and he sounds better than ever :'D
Last week my brother-in-law passed away. I held it together all week trying to be strong for the rest of the family, but on day 5 I heard this wonderful song for the first time and lost it and had to cry. Paolo Nutini has definitely still got it.

I always think of him as the male Amy Winehouse. He's commercially successful but has the talent of an underground soul artist you might happen to hear at a local nightclub and think "they're way too good to be here". I don't know if that makes sense to anyone else but it does to me lol.

I believe he's an angel! I felel like he lifts me up to heaven every time I listen and it just gets more and more powerful. It's this intense feeling of joy and pain together and this is the first time a song has made me have this powerful emotion so strong. I almost can't bear it, I weep with pure joy, to me this is how an angel sings and as hes singing u can see how much he wants u to not feel alone and that's exactly what he does with this music and beautiful auro..so calming..I agree with the dude..just with this one song, 5 seconds in actually..most beautiful voice I've Heard and there are some beautiful ones.. but he just tops them..breathtaking😇💖

To be fair, he played single notes. Ofc he got the rythm and all the stuff that comes with years of practise, but everyone can basically play this within a few hours on bass.
@@amrazing33 Oh, I'm dumb. I assumed the commenter was even more dumb than me calling the bass line "harmonies", but yeah, he meant the singing :D Btw, try to listen on a pair of speakers. They trump headphones, which are nothing else than tiny speakers, in every aspect, and they have gotten super cheap over the last decade.
@@dieterjones7402 You were doing so well until you assumed I used a pair of normal headphones. I used my in-ear monitor that I normally use for audio mixing. Pretty sure they trump any cheap speakers. So, unless you're talking about studio monitors, trust me, I'm good.
@@amrazing33 You missed my point: Mixing headphones, like the most popular among Grammy winning producers and musicians, the Audio Technica M50-X, are available for just over 100$. You can buy studio speakers for about 2-3x that sum and you're set. Again, audio tech got extremely cheap over the last decade. Also, mixing with headphones is still a controversially discussed subject. But mixing with in-ear monitors is definetly not the best choice. Those were made for live performances and have disadvantages over closed- or open back headphones. But, to come back to my point: All headphones have many disadvantages over speakers. The most obvious one being low frequencies (meaning 100hz and under). Those are literally felt by your body, and a can in your ear drum can't reproduce that. That's why many producers and mixers who use headphones add e.g. a subpac to their setup to account for that. Still, speakers reign supreme. See, now you assumed people in RU-vid comments are dumber than they are, just like me before :) But to be fair, in most cases this assumption is correct.

I've always had a soft spot for Paolo with him being from Paisley, and always thought he was a top class singer, but his music hasn't really been my kind of thing. This though, is a different level. Outstanding, 🏴 has a new genuine great 😍
He's the one voice I've been eagerly awaiting to hear for what seems a ridiculous long time. He's come back sounding better than ever! To me, there is no better voice around today that emotes the songs the way he does. Iron Sky (Abbey Road) is a masterpiece. Goosebumps every time I hear it 🙌

@@jamiepaton5 His mothers Scottish (Linda Harkins) and his family on his dads side has been in Scotland for generations. Grandfather was born in Scotland. Think that's quite enough Scottishness tbh. Only looked that up because it perked my interest btw

You need to train the agorithm by listening to lots of different kinds of music. Sufjan Stevens - Carrie & Lowel Live. Michael Kiwanuka - Live at the Midmay Club. London Grammar - Californian Soil - the live show. Elbow - Live at other voices Ballina. Anything from 'Tiny Desk' (always such a joy!), Jacob Collier - Live in Lisbon 2022. And by the time you feel like taking it one step further: listen to classical music: "Mozart - Requiem (with subtitles in 18 languages)". I'm sure you won't like it all, but it's all quality music.
