Yesterday was going just fine... until I heard the sad news. I grew up watching the Monkees (in reruns) back in the 70s. It's tough knowing Micky is the only one left now. Rest in peace, Mike... and Peter and Davy.
My dad was a big Monkees fan, and when he took care of my sisters and me on Saturdays we would watch the Monkees on TV. Later on, we would play their first album, both sides, singing and dancing. It must have been a sight seeing a 28 year old man acting the fool with his three little girls. R.I.P. Mike, Peter, and Davy. Thanks for the music and the memories I will carry with me always. It really is 2021, isn't it? Mike Nesmith passes away on Dec. 10, and it hardly makes a blip in the media. Kinda like Charlie Watts on August 24. Different era for sure.
Even though I saw this in person it’s really special now. It’s great the way the stage Is cleared and it’s just really the three of them together. Peter playing along. RIP Michael
This is wonderful. Thank you for posting this video. It is times like these I love technology. I grew up with The Monkees. I cannot believe that Mike Nesmith is no longer with us. He will be greatly missed. My sympathies go out to his family and friends. R.I.P. Mike. I know you are having a blast talking and performing in Heaven with Davy and Peter.

Took me over 50 years to find out the name of this song!!! I would try to find it and finally I saw a monkees rerun. I immediately got the episode # and Googled it. Son of a b@#ch. Papa Gene's Blues?? It like the Byrds doing My Back Pages from Bob Dylan.NO WHERE DO THEY EVER SAY MY BACK PAGES OR DOES MIKE SING PAPA GENES BLUES!!! BUT...I KNOW IT NOW. And I will turn a lot of people on to a GREAT SONG.
