As a flipline fan since 2014, this video really makes me happy. The editing style you have is fantastic and the idea of you covering the entirety of Flipline Studios’ history is not only the wort mistake you could possibly do on the planet, but also a very interesting thing I’m looking forward to!
As someone whose in my Flipline Studios phase and has been a hardcore fan since I was a child, IM SO HAPPY I FOUND THIS PAPA’S RETROSPECTIVERIA SERIES!! :D 🌈🦄💖 When I was younger I exclusively played Freezeria and occasionally other dessert Gamerias like Cupcakeria, Bakeria and Pancakeria (does that count as a dessert one 🤔) so it was really cool to see where Flipline Studios started with Pizzeria! I definitely agree that OG Pizzeria has so much charm especially with Roy’s animation and it’s sad that later Gamerias don’t have animated openings, cutscenes or have little reactions at the end of each day like Roy did but I guess I can understand how that’d be difficult for development. As for To Go and HD if there’s an option for choice I’m always purchasing HD games over To Go (unless there’s no option like with Mocharia and Cluckeria) and as an IPad user I LOVE that these games are available and I really hope HD games will continue being made for moblie users as opposed to just To Go games. Another thing I love are the characters and even as a kid I got DEEP into the lore, my favorite then and now personally is Utah (she looks like she has the sunniest personality :D 💛) and I especially love how Matt and Tony create characters based off of real people like Mandi (Tony’s irl wife) and Georgito (whose character design is HILARIOUS when you know the context lmao 💀)! Another cool event that Matt and Tony consistently do are Papa’s Next Chefs where fans can vote on a male and female character to be chefs for the next gameria (on the Flipline website, Twitter and probably Facebook too but I’m not sure lol) and Kingsley’s Customerpalooza (I’m not sure where this event is held lol) where fans can create their own characters in the Papa Louie Pals app and fans can vote on a new fanmade character to be featured in the next Gameria!! Sadly I think Kingsley’s Customerpalooza was left out of Mocharia and Cluckeria (I’m not 100% sure though) but I think these events (especially KCP) are amazing ways for the Papa Louie fanbase to get involved with the games! I’m super excited for the next videos about this series I have an extreme hyperfixation as of right now and it’s been hard to find Papa Louie content recently so I’m really glad I found your channel lol, this is great start to the series and I can’t wait to see what comes next! :D 💖
Really great review! I can't believe this video didn't get more views, the editing was great for a pretty lengthy video and you went quite in depth with the game(s) too. Hope you continue making these!
Super excited for this! With how prominent Burgeria seems to be with it as the first of HD & To Go, being PL2 (tho it makes sense), I'm wondering if and Taco Mia be their own video, and Freezeria gets its own with how big it's gotten. As much as people find the non slideshow intro creepy, I could agree on your praise on it. Roy even lip syncs "Papa Louie!" Considering how samey the original cast looked in PL1, I do appreciate how distinct they're made here. There's a 2hr video rank the cast of Cluckeria in their chances of becoming a closer (I hope they'll do a Next Chef sort of one. And someone else started ranking them in general. Sorta hoping other might do a sort of retrospective on the cast. Let's see... PL1 had 21, Pizzeria added 16, Burgeria with 11, Taco 7, and at most 6 following. Never knew the Romanos provided the game music... Almost thought Pizzeria had a max of 13 a day. Was rather surprised that Bakeria had 8. Wonder how many versions have over 7? There's actually a quick flash of a blonde "Johnny" in flipping of the profiles here. Lucky the "all gold for Louie" was dropped by Pancakeria, and it's HD brought in the coupon mechanic to bring in specific customers. Gotta agree on To Go looking low res. Super glad it got boosted by 2018. And Joy's even on the icon, so mas as well. Along with deliveries being natural for pizzas, there's also the homage at how the Pizza is obscured by the box, which probably wouldn't work for the dining booth. I honestly think Burgeria should get a Deluxe next. I can see what you mean by Roy's display of personality. Before the To Go versions got holidays, all you had was a blank smile in the door, and at least the others have a monthly change in environment, and daily game of Where's Wally at the start. As precursor for Burgeria, I find it funny that Prudence liking pickles enough to have her dog name it, yet she only had 1 pickle in the original, while Mitch had 3.
@@vincentmorris8431 Thank you! I love comments like this lol, I never noticed that Roy lip-syncs “Papa Louie”, that’s really interesting! Burgeria, Taco Mia, and Freezeria (plus all their remakes) will be one BIG video. working on it right now :)
Man, I love this review! I've watched it like 4 times already! This review and the news of Freezeria's Steam version made me revisit some of these games. Me and my friend recently beat the original Papa Louie, and I've been playing a lot of Freezeria Flash. I've never completed any of the Gamerias, but this is the closest I think I've ever gotten, I'm up to day 80 or so.
23:58 It does actually change the gameplay, but in 2 *extremely* minor ways: 1. If you didn't buy the doorbell (yet), you'll still be alerted of the customer. 2. You won't know who the customer is until you've taken the order. Meaning if you're one of the people who like to memorize customers' orders (for example a speedrunner) to get a head start on cooking times and such, you won't be able to do that. But yeah, I guess there really wouldn't have been any point in explaining this in the video :D
as someone who is a sucker for animation i love pizzeria and its lively animation, old customer menu and even the expressions and i got shocked as hell when i saw a huge lane of customers standing in front of me, true pizzeria may be basic but i love how it stands out from its sequels, also i love the old order station layout, i wish they would bring it back
Good suggestions! In hindsight, I'm kinda surprised I didn't really consider The Impossible Quiz for FGR Rapidfire, would've fit right in along with World's Hardest Game and the like.
I really hope you do more of these! I love flipline and this video was incredibly well made. I didn't even know the music is canonically from the Romano Quartet. Scooperia best gameria
28:00 Now that you mention it, I got several ideas for the other chefs too. For example, succeeding as Marty will make him do a pretend guitar play while failing as Mitch will have him shrug off as if he doesn't care while Maggie facepalms instead. Bits like these that integrate their personalities to gameplay and give the games more life.
Those are some great ideas! I would love to see more personalized animations for specific characters, though it’s pretty unlikely that they’ll ever do them again. Very fun to imagine though!
@@seanyproductions Thanks. And yeah. True. Gonna take extra lines of coding. But I'm sure that's worth it. Other examples include Timm boogeying around, Clover doing a drum impression, or Penny holding her hands in a soft manner.
25:13 Now I know the problem with the holiday ingredients. They feel VERY unpalatable and too garish to feel like food. That's an issue some people have. It doesn't make the food appetizing to look.
😬I know I've already asked, and I don't intend to annoy you, but is there a fancy pants adventure video coming out soon? I'm really desperate for someone to review it because it haas an interesting history.
Unfortunately, there probably won’t be a Fancy Pants video anytime soon. I didn’t grow up with the series and haven’t really played much of it. But it’s definitely a good idea, so I know I’ll have to look further into it eventually!
