+PikaLink91 People like to point the finger at Miyamoto, but are ignoring that Kensuke Tanabe was the one who decided to remove all the RPG elements and only give us generic toads. You couldve easily made a game with more variety within the Mario World, but he chose Toads only.

+Twilord I understand that for some games, innovation is great. But how could anyone have the idea of deleting what makes the game so great, in this case, the story and the rpg elements? Its like a Zelda game without a focus on story...I mean, you can keep those elements and make a different story and it will still feel like a great new game. Also the paradox is that this game looks like/is sticker star...so there isnt even any innovation lol

+justAnotherfanb0y not really, it was an excuse to have easier to render models on the n64, then in thousand year door they focused on story and world building and the paper gimmicks were just power ups pretty much, and then super paper mario focused even less on the paper gimmicks for story purposes, and then sticker star came out of nowhere and suddenly the paper gimmicks were more important than the story for some reason

+MTG01 Well, I think SPM is half a "real" Paper Mario, so the ratio is even IMO. It's gameplay is action RPG/Platformer as opposed to turn based RPG, but everything else is there.

+MTG01 Super Paper Mario, even though it is not your typical turn-based RPG, is still a pretty good game. I like it a lot. I think that one does deserve the Paper Mario label, but that's just my opinion.

Mitchell Whitten Because Paper Mario is supposed to be an RPG. It's literally the continuation of Super Mario RPG. But they changed genres and only now have explicitly stated that it's no longer an RPG series.

SPM I can understand, that game was surprisingly good, but SS was a mistake. I'm sure I've only heard of one person actually liking SS. Also business is flawed, they think slapping a known face on anything will make it sell, which while true isn't right to do, taking advantage of the people who have faith in your product and then selling them a cheap knock off in place of what we expected.

So they put up starfox, mario+sonic, monster hunter, mario maker, heck even that metroid game (albeit after disabling the dislike bar cus again they know people dont want this). But they never put up the paper mario trailer cus they know if they do it will tank soooo hard. So they went into this knowing that people didnt want this

Keith Pickering I enjoyed TTYD a lot more than sticker star and I'm sad that this game is not like TTYD but the fact that it is another sticker star that's fine me. I enjoyed sticker star I'm not like most people who hates it and throws it in to the garbage.

The one thing that floats in my head whenever I get involved in a discussion revolving around Paper Mario and Miyamoto's efforts in said series is how can us as fans get this message across. Or is he well aware of what we want, but refuses to do it because he's in control and he wants it his way?

Mario never had a particularly good story except Super Paper Mario. Rather what the Mario RPGs have is excellent character dialogue. Seems the Intelligent Systems team hasn't realized that is what is needed
