Hey everyone! This is a bit of a different paced video, something that was supposed to be quick and easy AND didn't turn out that way. Not as many edits in this one, that was always intentional though. Back to the regular stuff with the next upload!
You say that there's not many edits but your spectacular intro to this video begs to differ, i will probably enjoy it all thoroughly but would definitely forget to comment after the video so just saying this now i guess.
now hold on, koops doesn’t simp for koopie koo, it’s the other way around. my boy was too based, told her to hop off his stuff and she got pissed calling him a “stubborn koopa” while he went to go find his dad. Can’t be doing my man like that!
@@EmmyEntropy2000that boss have nothing special 20 hp is insane low still if u fight 3 time with 20 hp my vivian do 10 dmg and mario 10 dmg one shoot each phase 1 turn each prase and he die but i can agree that nice to see have multiple form when i be kid i cry vs him and die a lot of time when is last form and is sword
Maybe becacause he has 3 phases and the dev gave all of the phases double health and he didnt realise that you need to give double stats to only 1 of them to work for every phase Just a theory
I so specifically remember that surprise bowser fight at the end because by pure coincidence I'd just levelled up so it didn't even matter that the fights were back to back aside from item supply
23:38 So. I was a really smart kid. But games were not my best skill. So I actually got stuck here for several days because I thought the game kept freezing while loading a cutscene.
Probably could have considered using Spike Badge, Ice Power, and Jumpman badges so that you no longer need the hammer, with those 3 combined you can jump on anything lol. On top of the fact that Jumpman also increases your attack power in exchange for losing access to the hammer.
@@logun6972 Correct, that’s why I mentioned the TTYD remaster. We don’t know if they are doing a New Game+ but it would be a fun quality of life addition to the game. Make it interesting when you have a fully decked out badge setup and see how the game is with everything scaled up
Hey dude. You do realize you CAN jump on Bowser in this game? Super Paper Mario and beyond is when you can't jump on him anymore due to the spikes. So you could of cheesed the fight in Chapter 8 had you known. Just a little trivia!
And its now here!! Been playing the crap out of it, loving every moment of pure nostalgia. I barely remember getting this when it first came out as a kid. I recommend checking out Bug Fables too if you havent yet
you make fun of the fact that something gives you life but is also your weakness but like, thats everything baby. Hearts give life but its still a weakness if someone stops it from beating. your brain gives you life but its a weakness that a head injury can shut it down. its why we put helmets on and have a rib cage, if only the shadow queen did something to keep her weak point safe, like get 4 dumbass heroes to hide her weaknesses around the globe before sealing them in chests for one thousand years. what a plot hole.
i remember doing a challenge like this not too long ago as well but it was slightly more difficult, I had the double enemy and boss HP/Attack with the addition of them also having 1 extra defense. and with the random additional setback of not being able to upgrade my HP at all and I couldn't skip battles, if the enemy was in the overworld, I had to fight it. lets just say I beat it with 500+ deaths when comparably can beat base game deathless, roughly 80 hours of just getting railed.
In his defense, the game states that you couldn't jump on spiked enemies, so naturally he didn't think he could. Besides, whether that's worth risking or not is up to him. Better safe than sorry, dude.
Good playthrough! I would to replay the Remake if there was a Hard Mode as DLC. Double the enemies’ attack power and health points, while also adding some more new content, such as badges and enemy variants, as well as a new Boss Rush mode. My idea for a new Boss Rush mode would be to go to TEC-XX, who is technologically advanced, to regenerate the previous bosses and be relocated to a special arena.
I replay ttyd twice a year or so, and a ever since I started running difficulty codes and such I find it's my preferred way to replay the game. For those looking for a fun challenge, one my favorite runs is: Triple enemy damage, double enemy health, +2 enemy defence, Unlimited BP, Start at level 99 (so no level-ups), no life shrooms, start with the all-or-nothing badge and the normally unobtainable all-or-nothing P, you're only allowed one badge from repeatable sources (eg: pianta parlor), and you can use chet rippo once for a stat boost (or twice if you wanna go for danger strats but those are lame and too easy). This makes the pit a hell-hole so I'd say it's okay to savestate every 10 levels if you decide to enter it. If that isn't enough of a shake-up use the same rules minus one enemy defence and the all-or-nothings and add the shufflizer. I've also just done triple damage and double health, but it's not as fun.
I Don't know what the max stats an enemy can have in this game is but imagine all enemies with max stats and if you can go above max with some coding the bosses could get even more damn crazy with their health and stuff just being way to high it would be a nightmare so some armor and weapons and stuff might need to be like rebalanced to make it actually possible to beat the game like the name is so easy to come up with "Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door Hopeless Challenge" a nightmarish idea I know but I need to see it be made because it would be the greatest challenge anyone could do for the game because of how almost impossible it would be to beat
Tbh I don't like this approach to difficulty, it doesn't even make the late-game that much worse anyways, when you can get a crap-load of HP and stack yourself with items if you feel like your super guards suck. I like the approach of PM Master Quest way more, where the bosses have different AI, and new attacks that force yourself to block them, on top of the new strategies you have to develop to beat those battles. All of that combined turns the JRPG on wheelchairs that is PM64 into a tough as nails game requiring both strategy and tight timing skills to complete. I think a romhack (I mean, it's not a rom, but an iso, whatever) for TTYD is being developed that follows that premise.
Is there a code that removes the health and flowers that drop after you win a fight? Trying to beat the game without healing and was wondering if you saw any codes like that anywhere
I did a similar challenge a while back, I did it where enemies had 2-5x HP at random, and 2x Atk, also banned Superguard. my first exact 5x enemy was Hooktail, and was still easy lol. Overall a really fun challenge, I died 14 times upon completion
I love this video, you really showed so much of the playthrough it made me feel like i was playing! TTYD is my favorite game of all time and it's been awhile since I've played it, so i adore the way you edited this and put it together
27:10 Bits of localization censorship... In the original Japanese version: - there's blood and a chalk outline in one of the buildings in Rogueport. - Vivian is transgender, and Beldam is straight-up transphobic. - Bobbery wants booze. Not cola. Specifically, he wants Scarlet wine, since his late wife's name is Scarlet I guess.
My guess is the difficulty-increase mod pulled data from a list, and this list counted 60 HP total for Cortez (3 times 20). The mod's code interpreted this as "60 HP per phase", which got doubled to a whopping 120 per phase.
God i hope they give us a hard mode like this. i know its incredibly unlikely because its nintendo and all they do is copy and paste their remakes with mild adjustments but i wanna be challenged with this game again!
Loved this video! Such a challenging run, really made for an engaging journey to save the world. Would love to see you play more Paper Mario games, especially with a unique twist like this one.
i wonder did you walk to each area or did you find the pipes under ground there are pipes to take you back making that quest like 10 minutes not 30 36:48
I am playing the original paper mario on my phone(yes it is an unofficial emulator but I won't brag I only brag when my crimes are felonies) and it is pretty good besides the game freezing when I accidentally flip my phone which is not really the game's fault. It is tedious at times, which is a shared problem to any traditional rpg to some extent and at times you can forget what to do which is a problem I have with earthbound. My thoughts on that game is that it is almost fever dreamlike in both positive and negative ways at one moment your trapping ghosts another you are dealing with the financial problems for a band again and the gameplay is pretty fun albeit outdated and kinda rng heavy which kinda makes regular enemies range from normal to kinda stupid difficult and bosses that are not gygas unremarkable imo because of a lack of build up to them and don't get me started on THOSE weapons but a pretty fun game that will be burned in my conscience regardless of how much better persona 5 is which is an outstanding achievement. Sorry I had more to say about earthbound but I beat that game and I am only at chapter 5 of paper mario. Paper mario has less of the issues of earthbound so solid 8.5 out of 10 while earthbound is my most recommended 7 out of 10. 25:53 Golder Freddy💀
Props to you homie! I remember doing my run with similar rules. Big difference was the enemies had triple hp, I also had no access to hammer. You gonna do a hammer only run? Now that will be insanity!
