After watching this video of Paramin, Trinidad, village in the mountains... could you live up there? Also, make sure to look for PART 2: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-n5D1L9fM_TI.html and La Vigie: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-h1APYW019z8.html
I love your coverage and appreciate the commentary. Just a quick note, that area where you saw the bulk of garbage on the right, is actually a dumping area (for houses in that area) which aren't along the main road , for when the garbage truck passes. Not making excuses for the sporadic littering though.

Darren, they are setting up some guest houses up there so if you wanted to stay that can be one way, but for me the best way is to backpack up there with a guide.
Thank you kindly. Make sure to check out part 2 as well: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-n5D1L9fM_TI.html or look for other road trips: jbsmancave.com/trinidad-and-tobago-road-trip-map/
I was literally on the edge of my seat watching this video. I’ve to give you props for showing this location. It was riveting! Hell no; I will not live there. Regards,
You keep saying that one would need 4x4 vehicles to get up the hills, yet you're passing Tiidda, Y12, and lancer. Guess the folks up there really know how to make it happen with limited resources.
Ryan, good observation... you watched the whole video or part 2? You do need 4x4 for a truck like mine or other heavy vehicle but lighter vehicles that aren't full to capacity... in other words just the driver and maybe one passenger could go up. I do mention this in the video at some point.
Ryan, cool. After seeing this one you can go on to part 2 which shows a different path to go up and leave as well: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-n5D1L9fM_TI.html
@@JBsManCave Unfortunately, I have not been to this island, but I definitely want to come here, probably for a month, to enjoy it all to the fullest. The closest to that island I've been to, I don't know if it's Suriname or Costa Rica. I loved the architecture of this church, it resembles an old colonial warehouse
@@JBsManCave Thanks for the suggestion and wise advice. I myself come from Estonia (near Finland). I think you're almost living in paradise. Estonia does not have such a fantastic diversity of species, pleasant warm weather and beautiful mountains, paradise beaches,... winters are hellishly cold and snow removal is tedious. Some good things are, for example, even in EU terms, a good healthcare, good school system that helps children with special needs, I can appreciate that as a parent.🙂
Heikki, the grass is always greener on the other side... I'm sure you have heard that expression. In my situation, I would give up sun and 'paradise' for better health care and support for my children! The country here is beautiful as far as nature goes, no doubt, but is plagued by a lack of infrastructure, proper planning and restrictions that is tearing it up. I address some of those issues on my channel.
I was born and grew up in this village, Learnt to drive on Paramin Road and learnt to reverse in the junction by the school. From the corner starting morne cyril road I would reverse to the junction😂😂. Yes lots still speak patois. I reside in New Jersey presently but intend to retire back in my village of birth, but I will not drive on that Morne Rene Road no no sah.
Annie, thanks for sharing your experiences of Paramin. Did you see Part 2? Check it here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-n5D1L9fM_TI.html
Thanks JB for producing these videos. I appreciate the 'education. Diego Martin was my base and there was hardly any real reason to explore these areas. There were infrequent opportunity to move 'outside' except to visit family during vacation. Moreover the roads were all dirt. So now that I'm much older it gives me the privilege and opportunity to see the beauty of our country. Thanks again for the rawness.
Mitra, thank you kindly. This video is only part 1, feel free to look at the others: Ever heard of La Vigie, Paramin in Trinidad? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-h1APYW019z8.html Paramin Road Trip part 2 village in the mountains! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-n5D1L9fM_TI.html
Good day JB,Enjoyed this trip very much,@11:08/21:41, I wonder why they paved the road around the mango tree? any thoughts why? I also heard in time past when outside people visited Paramin they used to "pick" the produce near the roadway, don't know if that is continued ?
Jameel, glad you enjoyed the road trip. For the mango tree, probably because digging it up would be more of a chore, in my opinion. Can't say about that last question, maybe someone from Paramin can answer that.
I'm from Paramin (living in Canada); I often wonder about the mango tree and the most logical thing I can think of is the roots of large trees tend to support/ hold up the land on the hills, so this could be why.
Thank you JB!Paramin indeed has a rich history, and the hills overlooking the sea are beautiful especially if you are high up on road. Great video as always ! ☀️Would love you to do a vid on Santa Cruz as you go through the mouth of the hill 🌴
Eagle, thank you kindly. I should have videos passing through there as I have videos on the Green Market and La Pastora Settlement. It may be among my earlier videos.
I honestly don't know if I can do it again, but been there done that when it wasn't that developed 45 years ago. My best friend growing up but we lost touch over the years last time I seen him was 19 years ago at my mother's funeral. Curtis Bosielle .
@@JBsManCave what? no I absolutely love living up here, the views are absolutely beautiful and picturesque especially because I love photography, the traditions, I love it all! ❤️ especially during Carnival time, that's my favorite part and during Christmas for Parang.
@@JBsManCave you came up Morne Rene passed 4 of my cousins houses, then when you reached the end by Mr. Sonny house you turned right on Cacoa Road where you said it was Cameron Road, you drove down Cacoa Hill, stopped by Bertie Shop where the lady had a small provision stall. Cameron road is after Campbell and Marzaylee which goes down to Petit Valley.
