Paramotor Tree Flying - Risk and Reward 4K

Road trip to the rolling hills of Bloomington. This is a great example of what not to do, and we realize we can't fly like this forever and continue to get away with it. The risk is a tree landing after an engine failure. The reward is flying like the birds through the treetops, and that reward is worth it.

Dude! I don't normally compliment more than a short quip or observation on videos but.. Your ppg videos give some serious brain chills....your eye for editing shots and your music choices are really fun and control the emotion. Speeding up the source gives a new twist on ppg videos..most are going slower and you're going for full on flight! After this one I digested Indiana Paramotor Adventure and there's one shot that left my mouth hanging open. The combo of deep industrial house with this approaching shot of a hollowed out barn on a green berm....stunned. At this point I thought..hold on..this guy is more than just getting lucky...then I found Lights Out. That was a really fun short my wife and I both loved watching. I've been around the film fests a bit and that would hold it's own most anywhere. :D Sir....shared, subbed and watching with popcorn.

Wow, thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed them. And yeah, Lights Out is probably the only short I'm truly proud to have made. Loved that one. Thanks for the feedback and compliments!

+Ben Yonker Wow - incredible video man, this was some great flying (and filming/editing). Before reading the description, I was thinking to myslef 'man, an engine-out would suck right about now' lol. How many hours of flying does it take to get competent enough to fly like this? I just got myself a Roadster 2 and hope to start doing this soon :-).
@benyonker
@benyonker 7 лет назад
That's kind of a tough one to answer responsibly. :) I'd say it really varies for everyone. I only had about 25 hours when we did this flight. But I've also been a pilot for several years, and I have about 4000 skydives as well. Obviously different disciplines, but I'd argue that the experience is relevant. Enjoy the Roadster!

Hey Ben! how do u make such quality videos? I film with my gopro and Its like i have a lot of grain or visible noise!
@benyonker
@benyonker 6 лет назад
There are a lot of variables, starting with your camera settings. My footage never looks like this straight out of the camera, either . I spend some time tweaking it, adjusting contrast, saturation, etc. Noise is usually the result of shooting in low light, but you can use noise reduction to get rid of some of that as well.

@benyonker

Alan Kinsella That was an Air Conception Nitro 200 with an Ozone Spyder 24m. I still fly the Nitro but am on a 19m Sirocco 2 now.

@@benyonker Thanks Ben, I was hoping it was as I'm planning on getting one soon, I'm getting the e start, any advice? I've heard alot about vibration, is it that bad ?
@benyonker
@benyonker 5 лет назад
Alan Kinsella I have the e-start and highly recommend it. There is naturally going to be some vibration with any 2-stroke motor. I don’t think it’s too bad on the Nitro, though, and there isn’t much you can do about it anyway!
