"God loves his children" is definitely ironic and sarcastic. Much of what Thom writes about is seething with irony and said through gritted teeth.

Fun fact: the original line was "God loves his children, that's why he kills them"

Yeah, the leading in, "the dust and the screaming, the yuppies networking, the panic, the vomit, the panic, the vomit," would suggest that Thom is not exactly suggesting a divine providence guiding the world.

This line was changed in order for the song to release, it was originally....God lives his children, that's why he kills them yeah

Radiohead is one of the most technically interesting and intelligent bands that we have right now. They just continue to grow artistically as time goes on. People tend to love or hate them. Thom Yorke , the singer, has an ethereal voice. My favorite songs are Lotus flower, Where I end you begin, and a single Thom Yorke did for the movie "Twilight" called Hearing Damage.... which is my absolute favorite. Daydreaming is a more recent one that I love that is partly about the death of hi wife as well as how long his career has been. Beautiful song. Anyways, as you can tell I am a huge fan, and if you enjoy them, then I am glad and hope you do more. P.S. Their range in songs is incredible. Not all as clashing as this. When I am sad, I like to listen to their song "Come Slowly". Just loverly. Thanks, Harri for doing this reaction. P.S. stay healthy, okay? Take care of yourself always first.

Great reaction ❤ yes, this is the song as recorded on the studio version. Thom had issues with the beginning pressure to perform for years in front of so many millions. He got advice from REM front man on how to completely disappear, hence the song by that name. In Rainbows From the Basement shows just how much he does go into his own place while performing in studio as well. Totally committed musicians 💯👍😎🔥❤

This is a great performance but the best live performance I've ever seen them do, of this song, was on 'Later, with Jools Holland'. Definitely worth checking it out. :)

It is like that on the album, listen to it! :) Would love to see a whole Kid A (the album) reaction from you. That's best left turn ever done by a band imo. It's an amazing album!!

Nice reaction video! This song was made up of different song ideas, but definitely intended to be one song (a bit like Bohemian Rhapsody). The transitions are pretty magical, I would recommend hearing it once or twice without any pauses. Happy listening!

Yeah. You’re cheating yourself not even knowing if it’s one song or like your idea that they were perhaps three songs put together for the show. Always album first. Always. That would be like listening to “a day in the life” and wondering if it’s a medley or one track.

If you want to see radiohead at theor absolute best in a live setting and how they jam together watch 'in rainbows love from the basement' if anyone can watch that and not appreciate the sheer talent then I'll eat my own shit

Hi Harri. I've been watching your channel for a while now and really enjoying it, I see the work you put in and thank you for it I would love for you to react to The Beach Boys, who were seen as the main competitors to the Beatles for much of the 60s - unsure if you do full album reactions but Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys I feel is the best album of them all

Great reaction Harri. Radiohead are incredible. You should hear the studio versions first really to fully appreciate them as they were made, even though the live stuff is fantastic too. OK Computer is definitely up there as one of the most amazing, creative and interesting albums ever recorded but it's best appreciated to in it's entirety as it follows similar themes and concepts throughout. Please don't associate them with Coldplay though. I get that a lot of people like them, they make music for the masses, but Radiohead are so far above their level of creativity in my humble opinion.

That line, 'god loves his children, yeah...' was dripping with heavy irony. Especially when you consider the earlier lines were all about depression and paranoia and the line immediately preceding it were talking about, 'the pain, the vomit'. As far as I know, they're not followers of any religion. The lead singer, Thom Yorke, has said publicly, that he doesn't believe in god/s. You know how, in America, the default position is to assume that someone is religious, because most are and that atheists are seen as a bit weird? In the UK, and most of Northern and Western Europe for that matter, it's the other way round. The default position is to assume that someone isn't religious, because most aren't and it's the overtly religious that are seen as being a bit weird. All generally speaking of course. Basically, if you assume that an American is religious, you'll be right, most of the time. If you assume a Brit is religious, you'll be wrong, most of the time. :)

Mainly I thing for me they are the only comparable band to The Beatles in terms of innovation in the music, overall instrumental and arrangement quality, music for the future... Thom is genius like John and Paul

If you're going to pause it, rewind it a few secons, otherwise you lose the beauty and drama of the transitions, for yourself. Happened several times here, where you paused just as a transition was beginning and you lost the effect...

First time I've seen this version and in my honest opinion it is a terrible version, Thom York looks and sounds drunk! The best version I have heard is the Jools Holland 9th Junes 2001 version, that had an incredible intensity, I watched it live when it went out and it made me a Radiohead fan overnight. (the Jools Holland 1997 version is almost as good)
