Using a dictatorial-style parenting method, these parents believe parenting is not democracy, and have forced their four kids to abandon their previous lives and sail around the world!
In this Z-log, we discuss our parenting techniques and talk with the kids about how they feel now as compared to when we began this adventure.
If you wish to support our video efforts all we ask is that you SUBSCRIBE and share our channel with your friends!
Or buy some goodies and help us get these kids off the boat and on to college! www.redbubble.com/people/sail...

Sorry to ask this question,Is it very dangerous to be on middle of ocean, with your family ..All alone? Do you have sufficient safety measures to protect all of the family in the ocean.

Whoever questions spending more, better quality, time with their children, while showing them the world at the same time, is a person in denial. Bloody awesome video, as usual! Most inspirational!

Funny how people think they have to negotiate with the kids. It is not an option, the family is going and you are part of it. What you have done is amazing - You have blessed them with life experiences that can never be replaced. Your homeschooling is the BEST academic option they can have. All the best to you.

This is a compliment. I think you're mischaracterizing your parenting style when saying that you're not kid centric. I think you are kid centric in that you're doing what you believe is best for your kids and doing a fantastic job at it from your audience's pov. As parents, we're tasked with using our life experience and trials to make what we believe are the best decisions for our children to become happy well adjusted adults. Thank you.

I love the way that this video was edited - bringing in clips from 2 years ago, 1 year ago and the present - as well as soliciting feedback from the younger contingent of your tribe. I really appreciate your point of view on the parenting subject! Keith, you and I have very opposite opinions on probably quite a few other issues, but I totally get your honest and reality focused approach to raising kids. A lot of what you mentioned really resonates with me and my experience with raising our three. Thank you for always putting yourselves out there even when you know you'll be given crap for it by complete strangers. That in fact may be one of the most valuable ways to lead your children by example! Oh, and we've been watching you guys almost from the beginning and I'm only 35. ;)

One of the best videos. Keep on keeping on Keith and Renee, the humor is going to take kids to high places and the transformation of the kids from the start to now has been remarkable! Jack, want to sail for a living, do everything your dad does on the boat and you'll be there. Anna have a passion for writing, write a book on your experience, I'd buy it. Y'all are doing it right with the kids and it shows!

thank you, guys, for having this channel and saying what you say and living your dreams despite what everyone else thinks of you. it's refreshing to hear your lifestyle and mindset, and to see how far you've changed from before sailing to now. we too have 4 kids, younger than yours, but we'd love to have the opportunity to move to a boat and sail around the world with them. we have other commitments, but that doesn't stop us from watching YOU do it instead, and we're cheering you on and living vicariously through your adventure on the water while we pursue other adventures ourselves here on land.

This video made my night! This is exactly how I run my household and recently I brought up to the kids (finally) the idea of us sailing the world in a 3 or 4 more years once we're done here in Bahrain. The kids were not too hot on the idea, but they've been talking between themselves and their starting their "warm up" to the idea. They know that they don't really have much of a choice. It's going to be what my wife and I tell them it will be and they're going to have to find a way of embracing the suck. They're starting to come around to the realization that travel is going to be awesome. I cant wait to start our journey and Im getting more and more obsessed with this. Im watching every video I can find on sailing, reading forums until my eyes fall out and cant get enough. THIS is what I want to do with my life. Im going to be "retired" at 43. We'll be in the blue before Im 45. We got clear goals now and like everything else in my life. I've never failed to meet a goal. Aint going to stop now. Leopard 50 and Blue Water for us.

You couldn't have timed this video any better for me. We are going through heck with our 15 and 16 year old boys. They were homeschooled for two years, before they realized the lack of girls in their homeschool classes. We were good until the business sold and they realized we were serious about leaving. My wife and I were on the same page, but seeing their reluctance has taken it's toll. We're also looking at two plans. However, they're both outside of this country we can't seem to fit into anymore. We're looking at sailing and an island property in Bocas del Toro, Panama. Where we'd also buy a smaller cat to start a day charter excursion (after we tune up our sailing expertise). Please keep up the good work. Your last couple of videos has been very mentally soothing for me. I will definitely share this with the family. Hope to run into you guys someday. Thanks,

Excellent ZLog, especially the flashbacks. What kind of track is planned to help Anna on that academic track. As for Jack, its ironic but I've noticed his sailing and nautical skillset really blossoming in the last 6 months. Watching him at the helm in crappy weather, maintaining sails and lines, plus showing a real passion with photography really reinforces him saying that he might like to continue with a nautical lifestyle. You're excellent parents, and they will be forever grateful for the experiences you presented to them, as they grew up.

You guys are hilarious! I love your parenting, the dad is so cool, and this comment is coming from a 60 year old mom who has raised four kids and still very connected to the grown kids... you never finish raising or worrying about your own. I would love to be doing what you are doing now, i just don’t have the guts or backbone to do it, heavily entrenched in the work force yadayadayada.... Love you guys, love the dad( and mom), am subscribing finally now:)

I have been watching you for sometime and have enjoyed watching your family live together, learn, grow, and travel. We home schooled our kids and lived in Thailand during the years our kids were in junior and high school. it was the best thing we could have done for them. They learned about the world that it does not spin around the Mall or America's latest fad. Keep it up and God Bless. John

The content in this video really helped me make a choice for a life at sea. We are a young couple with a sail boat who would like to travel the world, the only doubt was how to do that with the upbringing of children. how it would go with school, puberty, their love life, making friends, their feelings, ... But these kinds of videos give me a different view of the boat life, A good and realistic one of how life with kids would be like on a boat and how to manage it. I hope you keep making these kind of video's because they are really helpful for young sailors like myself!

Right now I’m binge watching all of your vlogs and so on… And I just wanted to say that this episode really hugged the little me (I’m turning 23 this year). My parents has always been supportive and loving the best they can, but as a divorce child I notice more and more that I feel lost sometimes, cuz I have so many plans and dreams but can’t seem to put them into my reality for some reason. As you guys are talking about in this video, the sentence “living someone else life” hit me hard. That’s a feeling I’ve been living with for a long time, even as a child. And other than “this year is my year” and that I’m going through big changes and it’s my turn to take the wheel an run my life. And I’m right now working a lot on myself becoming the person I feel that I am deep within… With all of your videos, and the way that you guys take care of your family, the humour, the love, the charisma…. Makes me feel a big support for my changes in my life right now. I just want to thank you guys so much for your courage, taking the step to do something life-changing for you and your kids. Showing us (your audience) that life can be so much more, and the feelings of dreaming of a bigger meaning in life, it really can come true!🥹❤ Don’t know what this will purpose. But I’ve totally fallen in love with your family, the good with the bad, you show the real deal. Thank you so much! Be safe on the water cowboys🐋 //Hugs the Swedish dreaming girl🫶🏼
