My Mexican-American parents surprised my teacher by actually doing something about any of my bad behavior. Most of the parents blamed everyone else for their kid's behavior. My parents even got into it with a parent who was yelling at my teacher. They told that parent "Maybe if you would treat your child, the same way you are treating the teacher. Your kid wouldn't be acting stupid in school."
The sad thing is, most older Americans were raised exactly like the British seem to still be (or recently were... they're changing too). The bad American kids are all over political sites regurgitating about how much BETTER all the other countries are, esp European and Japanese as far as basic decency. But next breath disrespect elders for expressing themselves in blunt direct language exactly like British people do. Zoomer. "The Japanese are such a peaceful people. 🙌 Unlike Murica" Elder. "Because their youth are still taught to behave in public and respect their elder-" Zoomer. "Ok boomer." 🤭
How that harsh nah that normal disaplinary parents nowadays are becoming too soft and not disaplining their kind untill it become a problem @@Tast-1934.
@@ultralolxD What I'm saying is... OP is calling her Karen. Take her out of the equation this is only about OP. People who LIKE calling people Karen also tend to be those who always defend kids before they will ever defend an adult being hard on kids.
Being Asian: Teacher: your kid is wonderful! He’s a great communicator! The mom: so he’s talking in class Teacher: *hesitating* ye- The mom: IM GONNA GRAB MY SHOVEL AND BURY THAT KID-RIGHT NOW
yeah sadly some parents got amaricanized along the way. gladly most are back to making rational decissions and actually expect their kids to act like decent human beings in school
As a London mum ,I can also confirm the British one.i acted like that when my son spent his first paycheck on a Luis Vuitton manbag instead of saving up for a deposit for a flat ,but if he wants to live in his dads basement until he's 53 then so be it ,his money, his choice.
@@stephaniesc694 Kind of, it was the teacher's laptop ( a Mac) one of the letters broke and he never knew it was me because I accused one of my classmates. 🗿
I'm honestly so lucky my parents never blamed a teacher for me not getting a good grade. They realized it was my fault most of the time, and when it genuinely wasn't my fault they never got into a screaming match with a teacher, or emailed them constantly, but they allowed me to vent my frustrations and helped me solve the issue.
That British reaction is exactly how it was when I was going to school in America LOL I know nowadays half the students can do no wrong which means they really don't do anything right :-(
@@shadowpanther2611 Yeah my mom got a notification that I was on my phone during science (I have an A in science had one before that) and my dad threatened to snap my phone in half (again)
I waited over an hour for someone to cut fabric for me. A young lady kept coming by asking if they’d shown up yet and I’m like “No, it’s ok, I’m pretty chill.” Why ruin my day and everyone else’s? I think Karen’s are women who need their hormones checked imo.
Honestly I’m fully American and my mom is just like the British mom. I’ll get a 100% and she’ll be like why didn’t you get a 110% I told her you can’t get that and she’s like not with failing grades you can’t now go study so I say I’m in the highest group she’ll be like….. mhm go study.😂😭
Yep. The day after parents evening, everyone complained about some form of punishment from their parents. A lot of it was confiscated game consoles or forced study time
Honestly, as a brit, this really depends on the student. My mum would never be like this, but then I've never gotten into trouble in my life. Still, I've seen the mothers of the 'cheeky kids' and the dynamic between them and the teacher is always hilarious.
….you know sometimes people just understand that not everything is named exactly the same all over the world but they’re the same thing…but then there’s people like you who just have to be so dumb about it…🙄
In my day (1970's) it was PTA: Parent Teacher Association. Then after I graduated, PTSA (they added student). I don't know a lot of what they teach now, but I sure wish they taught them spelling and grammar, times tables and cursive writing. Basically I feel they've left out at least half of the education I got.
Love that European parents are similar! I am not from Britain, but hell, all you showing up is so similar to our way of raising the kids. And BTW, I consider it is more healthy for them in the future.
My school always let the kids join Yall dont know how terrifying it is to have both ur parents glaring daggers at you with that smile one their face 😀 Yeah daz the one 💀✨

As someone who works with very young children with emotional impairments the American school moment made me cheer with pride - yay no violence! lmao Note- my students are 7 and under and have very specific lives and diagnoses. People don’t deserve verbal abuse, young minds deserve unyeilding love and compassion- both are true.
I can see that. I used to work with kid when I was college. When you tell the parents that their kids are acting up, they you has the staff cuz their kids are angels.
I’m British and my school is a combination of the two The teachers at my school usually say something like “billy is an ok student but he isn’t putting 💯% effort into his work *not even caring about not doing homework*”
