I'll also comment that in today's economy it's difficult to survive even when working a regular job like at McDonald's. You have to consider rent, utilities, car insurance, gas money, food costs, cell phone bills, etc. Every minimum wage job I worked most of the adult employees worked two jobs (one being full-time) and still had to go on government assistance of some sort (some of the young employees did this, too). The economy has been going to shit since 2008, with the cost of living increasing while wages are stagnating. I don't know Ethan's history as to if he even had to work a minimum wage job, but the rest of us who aren't making tens of thousands of dollars a year just to do some RU-vid videos or podcasts actually struggle just to get by. Unless you grew up with a well-off family that could send you to college, got your start before the economy went south, or was able to start your career early, then you're not going to fair so well in today's world. I agree that the 30-year-old needs to get a job and at the least find a friend or roommate to live with, but my concern is aimed at Ethan's comment about how someone can just work at McDonald's and everything will be A-okay. I have a friend who not too long ago could barely make the rent and almost went a week without food before thankfully someone stepped in and helped (keep in mind he works more than what's considered full-time). I can already see some replies shouting, "Just go to college and get a better job!" But you need to work more than full-time to be able to afford basic living expenses (there's several studies out there that shows what the minimum wage needs to be in each state for someone to be able to rent an apartment and afford other expenses). How much time does that leave for school? Not a lot. Going to school and trying to get by is extremely harrowing on one's psychological health. My current classes so far administers so much homework that a good amount of the class can barely keep up. I know I'm rambling at this point, but I just wanted to voice how disappointed I am with Ethan. I guess I have this misconception that if someone is a RU-vidr that they clearly know how the real world is. Ethan's McDonald's comments sounds like something that would have been uttered by some rich executive, totally detached from what the less fortunate experience. Seeing some of the comments, I can only assume these are young people who don't really know what it's like to struggle just to live. I've met quite a few people that are slaving away just to hold onto their small apartments or trailers. But those are my thoughts. *INB4 angry comments*

One correction, before the Meji restoration, it was legal for Samurai to carry two swords, the Katana and the Wakizashi. The public were also allowed to arm themselves lightly for defence (similar to the gun laws in the USA). The Katana is a longer, two-handed sword, the Wakizashi is a single handed blade longer than a dagger but much shorter than a Katana. Samurai were basically the judge, jury and executioner. They kept the peace and also fought in wars when summoned by their lord. The Shogun was a military leader while the Emperor was more of a spiritual leader (music, painting, poetry). After the Meji restoration all blades were confiscated, farmers and peasants were banned from arming themselves and the Samurai social cast (very upper class) was abolished. RIP Samurai.

I live with my mom and i am 30. However i landscape the property,mow the lawn. Clean the house every day do all the dishes for everyone in the house,cook lunch and dinner for my mom and sister. I also provide constant "tech support" for my computer illiterate mother and sister,which doesn't sound like much but often degrades into a full day of wiping a computer and reteaching them basic skills,even small stuff like how to save a document or finding it for her a week later. I also drive my mom to and from the hospital and the local clinic daily, and you know i will probably stay here even after i find a job here(we just purchased a house across the state so i had to ditch my shitty job anyways) because as my mother gets older she needs more and more help,and i refuse to ever make her have to go to a nursing home, she wiped my ass as a baby and i have zero calms doing it for her if it comes to that. I already have to cook for her or she wont follow the appropriate diabetic diet, honestly i love living with my family! Here's the thing,no one ever,and i mean ever "told me to do chores around the house" my mom never,even when i was a kid made me do chores or help her, in fact she would just pay geek squad or a maid if i asked. However i do it because i love her and i respect her and she shouldn't have to do the dishes or mow the lawn in her old age when a healthy young man is there. The guy probably is autistic if he lacks that basic level of respect for his parents,either that or his parents raised him as a retarded liberal with zero masculinity. The probably never paddled his ass when he was disrespectful or grounded him when he didnt help out around the house and the thing is punishing your children and making them do chores and stuff builds a foundation for their personality. You know its easy to just let your kid do whatever they want its easy to be their friend and just do the chores your self knowing they will be done properly. What is hard is grounding your child,managing their life by making sure they did their homework and went to school on time. Its difficult to tell the person your life revolves around that they can't have that candy bar and to hold strong as they cry and beg. Its hard to make sure your kid does the dishes properly and to do all that stuff as they beg and whine. Parents will often say "oh i was a great parent i gave them everything they ever wanted and loved them unconditionally and they still turned out lazy and an incel" but thats the problem! Your not a Good parent if you spoil your child,your laziness will indeed be passed down to your child.
