My daughter’s behavior change is what caught my attention also when I placed my child in day care many years ago. I immediately removed her and made arrangements with family to care for her, when that was no longer an option after our 2nd daughter was born, my husband and I agreed that I would quit my job and become a stay at home mom. It was financially burdensome, but we followed a tight budget and made it work. This was back when crimes against children were not as wide spread, today, I would not recommend anyone leave their child with anyone they absolutely could not fully trust. I had 2 girls from our church approach me and ask me if I would watch their babies, I was happy to do so for free just to know that these children were safe, and properly cared for. I now keep my grandchildren. A lot of people do not have these options, but we have to find ways of making sure the children today are safe.

I work at a daycare. We are all professionals with certifications, 1st aids, we have camera and inspections … It’s your due diligence as a parent to do your research about the place where you live your child and make sure you get an incident report for any minor mark on your kid. You can also read the inspections online. Many people just want the cheapest place and don’t even care to know the teacher’s name or what their kid did during the day. If the staff is happy, there isn’t a huge turnover and the kids are happy and the place is licensed and safe, there is little chance anything like that happens. I find it insulting as an ECE professional to assume that what happens in the video is common. I have witness one thing one day, and not remotely as bad, the boss saw it on camera and the girl was fired on the spot. I have reported several abuse happening in the house on the other end. So not all kids are safe at home. Where I agree is that , if the parents are good people, a child will get more personal attention at home. But the vast majority of ECE workers are dedicated and caring. Just don’t send your child to a cheap place with lots of staff turnover because it means the staff is paid minimum wage and the director won’t care as much about qualifications.

Yeah so more the reason that having kids the parents need to have someone bring them up at home, not with strangers. Why I stayed home with my kids. My cousin had her baby thrown against a wall at a home daycare about 14 years ago. Was on national news. People across the USA lost their minds like we did. She has a slight limp now from the ordeal. Her leg drags a bit because way it broke amd slight brain damage from being slammed into the wall. She was thrown into the wall by her feet then dropped to floor. Broke her skull, bones in her body. Her left side has some issues but hard to notice today. Scared me so bad when I had kids we decided to stay at home.
