Any Allegro from ' 73 still surviving is worth saving !.Recall being in a Leyland dealership then getting a fan belt for my ' 68 Mini and the first sighting ever of a green one hurredly driven into the showroom then hastily covered over before the launch date in the Summer !.A retiring manager of mine in that year , bought a Glacier white 1300 deluxe , YVE 454M as a present to himself !.
Had one from 1975, a two door version in lemon green, back in the late '80's, early '90's. Sold it when I purchased a 1963 Humber Hawk Series 3, 17RHU (the numbers be transferred onto a Mercedes). Wish I kept it, instead of the Humber Scepter Mk2. An en entertaining car to own, and very reliable too.
Well done for saving Sparky! Plenty to do I'm sure. Wouldn't worry about the tank. Stick an MGB one in there or even just a boat tank, Tasty Classics style. Fingers crossed the engine turns. Even if it doesn't it's just another snag I guess! Good luck 👍
I love that mixture of excitement tempered by trepidation at the start of any new project. I remember them being referred to as All-Agro. Best of luck with it. I will watch with interest.
It's like Little Britain, Lou & Andy - 'I thought you said there was only one Allegro in the world for you and it's George.....yeah, I know.....I want that one' 🤣
