Great overview/review and I agree with "the best" customer support experience. Andrew has set the standard that (i wish) all others should follow. Between boot quality, size/fit and the incredible customer support experience, I am now a life long customer.

I LOVE Parkhurts in 602M. I have a pair of Niagaras that I consider to be the the upgrade to the Alden Indys I never pulled the trigger on. Also have a pair of Allens in Mahogany that are just beautiful and so comfortable you forget you have them on. Loved your history lesson and can't speak highly enough of the brand.

Just recently acquired a pair of Niagara on the 602M last. Very nicely styled, high quality construction. Now breaking them in but they feel pretty good out of the box. Went down 1/2 size which seems about right considering break-in will loosen them up a bit.

Always look forward to seeing your videos. Great idea for your next video , can you please do a video why a price difference on the same leather , meaning say a 250 -300 boot uses chromexel leather , compared to alden and viberg that cost 650 -860 using chromexel leather . I know the built plays a part but the leather plays a big part as well and people may go buy a 200 dollar boot because they think chromexel is the same on all chromexel leather on boots . It's a different cut I believe.

Another great video, Teik! Do you happen to know which version of the 602 you discussed is being used by Nicks for their collab? I have a V2 on the way and want to know as much as I possibly can about what to expect.
@Bootlosophy
@Bootlosophy 4 месяца назад
I think it’s a regular “Spanish” 602, but Nicks have built up the arch with their usual methods so it feels quite different.

I have wide (EE) feet, so sizing can be difficult for me at times. I recently bought their Richmond Horsebutt in 602M. A little snug at first, but a few weeks under the stretchers and they fit nicely. Not as roomy and the GS Brass boot, but they fit fine.

What size are you and what did you buy? Any particular part that was tight or not?

I'm a bit resistant to the newer brands like Parkhurst, Grant Stone, Truman, Oak Street, etc.., its superficial, but brand legacy does sway my judgment., though some of them are growing on me.., particularly Oak Street. you and Dale have me more interested in dressier boots now im noticing.. love a good spit shine lol, I was strictly into rugged PNWs initially.. but I just bought some Allen Edmonds Daltons and they're very comfortable.. my first Cordovan boots too. (im usually not into wingtips, and prefer plain or cap toes., but Cordovan, i had to try it.. its a very nice shape as well,( brogueing aside) I got them pretty cheap on ebay used,, but wow,, they're basically brand new! .., I think I'd like to go for an Alden 403 or Viberg next.. id love a Cordovan Indy boot, but they're harder to get for a good price.. might settle for brown CXL.. seems Wolverine and Allen Edmonds are the only Cordovan boots that can be had at a good discount.. as always, thanks for your time n efforts! i have a couple more boot video to release soon too : )

Once upon a time someone may have expressed what you said, but about Red Wing or Wolverine.

Andrew has said they won’t be running wide widths anymore at all, at least for now. Anything on the site is just leftover from earlier production. Sad to see for me as I need those sizes, but as you articulated, it makes sense that a smaller company simply can’t commit to that level of investment for a handful of additional orders.

I was always wondering what R&D goes into inventing the lasts. does anyone have any materials about it and is willing to share?

I've just realized I've never seen you post a boot review of a boot in shell cordovan! Do you not own any? I went for a shell boot from Grant Stone for the 5th pair of boots I bought. I knew I needed to get to the pinnacle quickly. I'm so glad I did instead of having 30+ pairs of boots before getting my first shell boot.

Great video on the last evolution at Parkhurst. Something I've noticed, and I'm not sure if this is an issue with build quality or a change in the last, is that the heel pad inside the boot has changed. I have a boot from 2020, 2022, 2023, and late 2023. I noticed that the boots I got that were initially from Spain in 2023, have a weird dip where the heel pad ends inside the boot that digs into the bottom of my foot. On my boots from 2020 and 2023, an Allen and Niagra respectively, the inside of the boot has a much smoother transition from the heel pad to the leather insole. Again, I'm not sure if this has to do with the change in lasts or if it was just an issue with getting the kinks worked out at a new factory.

It’s to do with the leather skiving on the heel pad. Different batches have variations.

@@Bootlosophy That makes sense. Do you think this is something that a cobbler could easily fix?
@Bootlosophy
@Bootlosophy 4 месяца назад
@@josephburton3232 a good cobbler can. But you may be able to ask Andrew for a pair of heel pads and take them to a cobbler to fit.

I think Parkhurst have nailed the service boot design, they’re certainly the best looking of all the other brands. The 602M sounds like the Leo last, narrow heel and wider ball of the foot. Are they similar in fit?
@royogrady9179
@royogrady9179 4 месяца назад
I have a pair of Grant Stone Brass Boots in the same size as my Parkhurst Niagaras and the GS's are larger - and heavier. I'm pretty sure the GS uses the Leo last. Hope this helps. Like the GS, love the Parkhurst.
