@@legion5487 it wasn't a few edgy comments, it was a 2+ year long barrage of searches almost key worded to get law enforcement attention BUT RU-vid DID NOTHING.

Nah, he didn’t think it would be like this. He just couldn’t pull the trigger on himself and thought that somehow he would get away with it.

he didn't intend for this to happen. His plan was to fake insanity, I'm assuming in the case that he didn't go through with killing himself, which is what happened. He likely genuinely thought he could pull off the insanity plea, which is incredibly astonishing to me because there is so much evidence that shows that he had an obsession with shootings, thought and planned out the entire act. Judging by the way he writes his comments and searches, he isn't the smartest but he's fully aware that this is evil.

did anyone report his behaviour to the police? he was putting up red flags but if no one says they cant do anything about it. i don't know the full history of the kid, so correct me if people were raising concerns with law enforcement

Law enforcement cannot review billions of google searches that happen everyday. They can only be investigated if someone reported the disturbing comments, and I don’t mean the report button on RU-vid (useless) I mean like calling the FBI or something. Clearly no one did that so it went unnoticed, people need to be more comfortable properly reporting messages like this online. And also, law enforcement does need to take online messages more serious, I’ll give you that, cause I’ve seen many cases where police don’t take action because it’s online and “isn’t enough proof” or whatever excuses they come up with.

This could have been prevented- it almost seems purposely allowed.

@@FCUK- Yes, she is also a widow who had 2 daughters from her previous marriage, so he has 2 stepdaughters but his son Alex was his only biological child

They want answers, some may see that as closure, they want to face the demon that killed their child. They want their voice be heard. They want to speak in behalf of their kid. Aside from wanting to harm him they want to see that demon suffer even for a moment.

They should be angry at google/youtube etc. They are spending so much time demonetizing legitimate people, but could not pick up and report this clear case of a disturbed person.

He was severely depressed and suffering from a chemical imbalance. I don't see any signs of schizophrenia as there are no random delusional outbursts. All of his comments, although horrible, are consistent and and organized, no scattered thoughts or paranoia. I also don't see signs of bipolar 1. Bipolar 2 is possible though. He definitely has a chemical imbalance. Seems to be some major issues with his upbringing. Any involved parents would have to notice signs leading up to this. BUT with all that said, I believe he knew EXACTLY what he was doing. He consciously carried these acts out with premeditation. For a long period leading up to the attack he was posting his plans and thoughts. I honestly wish a family member stepped in beforehand. This is just my opinion based off of the limited information I have. I certainly cannot judge or say anything for certain given the fact that I don't have 1st hand knowledge.

@Flare not sure what u mean by "America does not believe in the death penalty?" Here in Florida, which is where this is taking place, we have the death penalty. This Court hearing is in the Penalty Phase, this is the phase where a Jury gets to decide his fate. He has 34 total charges against him, charges 1-17 are Capital Murder Charges & he is looking at either Life in Prison without parole, or the Death Penalty. I personally wish we had an "Eye for an Eye." He already pled guilty to all 34 charges. Why spend money on this trial & make these families go thru this. Jus take him & let each parent who lost a child that day fire a shot into him equaling 2 shots, 1 for mom & 1 for dad, then let the surviving children all fire 1 shot into him so he would get a total of 51 shots with none of them being kill shots, all 51 shots would be to make him suffer, then let him suffer all those shots until he finally ends up dying & then bury him under the prison. I know this sounds morbid or crazy but he not only took children's lives that day & injured other kids, but look at all that were affected by his actions that horrible day. It's soooo extremely sad. America needs to put into effect some sort of "Eye for an Eye" justice. Us tax payers are paying so much money out on taking care of inmates, when that money could go to helping others that need help. This is my personal opinion. My heart & prayers go out to all who were affected by this horrible persons actions that day😭💔🙏

He wanted to see the families suffer? let him suffer for the rest of his life, fully aware of what he did and never see the light of day again.. His death is the easy way out for him.. I know revenge is a tempting feeling, but the easy, quick way is seldom a good one.

@@RSProduxx Of all the creatures on earth, humans are the best at adapting. If you put him in prison for life he will simply adapt. The best thing to do is the death penalty. Death penalties do not happen instantly, most of the time it takes a few years for it to happen. And every single day leading up to it will be torture for him because he knows his time is slowly running out. It is the mental torture that gets to people. He deserves it.

But there is an issue, if the only evidence are the comments, then what can cops do? Even if they arrested, charged and found guilty, they wont get lot of time, especially if they dont have a criminal background/history. In best case (not for them) 5 years .

Im late and just now coming across this, but some of the stuff he searched for [not all] like the Columbine shooting wouldn't exactly spark any red flags because millions of people just want to study to see what went down and why it happened. But i agree with him searching up other stuff like how many rounds were fired and how many victims along with the equipments for guns and ammo, he should have been tracked from there on.

@@punchblmers192 If you have seen his interrogation (and arrest), he made out as if "demons" and "voices" made him do it and pretended like he didn't really know what he was doing... His internet history among other things prove otherwise. It might not be normal or right thinking to do what he did, but he thought about it, talked big about it and went on to carry out his plans. That doesn't make a person "crazy" in the sense of not knowing what your own actions and consequences are

@@lIoverob I have a theory that a lot of these cases are from individuals demonized by society to be 'unattractive', 'socially awkward', and 'unworthy' and makes them hate everyone who is more attractive, or have outcaste them to the point where they think the should get revenge on these people. I think mental health should be something we really focus on in the next 10 years, towards quiet socially awkward individuals. Just look at the cases, it's obvious this is what reality is.

His mom was never ever on drugs he did receive counseling several times he was also enroll in a program for anger management, he was a bully and a stalker and got into fights several times reason why he got kicked out of school.. he was far from being a victim, he was the evil the school was trying to help but at some point had to give up and protect other students and look at what happened!

Really one would think some of the creators themselves would have reported the comments as well. Idk...most of the channels I comment on seem to either have a team who to go thru their comments on the larger channels or they do it themselves if the channel is small enough. That those comments stood on YT actually shocked me.

?? He was 18, nobody looks through their kids’ phones at that age and the woman who adopted him died just 3 months before the shooting. His biological mother died sometime after they reconnected but she was into drugs and did them while pregnant with him too.

Hundreds of thousands of people make crazy searches and comments everyday, to even attempt to filter through them and then to find all those people borders the impossible.

This is not the "FAULT" of RU-vid or law enforcement- I agree. But, I am curious how such dark thoughts and statements escaped those closest to him (or should have been)....how does a child even develop that much hatred or apathy?...and why didn't anyone care enough to make a meaningful difference?....Such a sad case...

I don't see why it couldn't have been caught in the algorithm and flagged, they insta-delete my harmless comments all the time and have been doing so since at least 2014 as I show in one of my videos.

If the AI flags 1 million messages this month, the manpower isn’t enough to review and contact proper authorities over every thing that the algorithm flags. Also, the police don’t have the resources to investigate millions of online threats

I don't blame his parents at all for this because both of his parents are dead and we're dead before the tragedy.

I understand what you’re saying completely, but both of his parents have passed away long before this occurred. His father died when he was a child, and his mother died when he was still in high school. I do wonder if anybody else that was in his life (brother, friends, friends parents) had noticed anything at all. But they stated previously that, they didn’t. Sometimes, psychopaths can hide their true motives super well and it’s definitely scary..

That is how the law works in USA. No matter how heinous the crime everyone deserves the right to a fair trial with representation. That's how they feel and that's how you should see it.

Turning 18 only has significance in the sense that guardians no longer have to assume legal obligation or responsibility for the child and in turn the child is free to act independently and assumes all responsibility for their own actions under the law. Other than that it's just a number that reflects the age people are assumed to be capable of navigating life independently.
